  • On July 6, 2006, Alan Newton was exonerated of rape, robbery, and assault charges. He had asked for DNA testing in 1994, and his request was denied because evidence had been presumed to be lost. In 2005, at the Innocence Project’s request, the district attorney’s office found the rape kit after an exhaustive search. This is his story, plus the gruelling process that lawyers at the Innocence Project went through to secure his release.

40 years is excessive even for the real perpetrator.

These are the emotional stories, so much so that I gotta think twice before starting another.

This was a story of resilience. Seeing these brothers stick together, through all the disappointments, brought tears to my eyes. This was inspiring to watch. An update would be great. All the best to the entire group of family and friends.

Sad part is the victim walked the same streets with the monster who got away with it. Meanwhile an innocent man was sitting in prison 😢

Mind blowing how these cops and prosecutors put zero effort into doing their jobs.

‘Twenty of them were on death row’! Shocking! How many more have been killed for stuff they didn’t do???

22 years wasted away because a DA wanted to close his file with a conviction regardless of the numerous inconsistencies. Clipping the wings off a man who had gone back on the straight and narrow.

No man is above the law and no one is below it. Love the quote but we all know its always true. Financial clout would get a guilty man off and absolutly crush an innocent man mercilessly. The law is not blind in its application of justice.
