Love how your channel promotes self sufficiency for locals. Absolutely the best thing for them. Also gives them a sense of pride.
As guests in this country, it's nice to give back to locals who is a huge part of why this country is paradise
How clever to make the porch accessible and affordable to many who would otherwise do without. Thanks for the tour, Ai,Derek & Natalie.
How wonderful and Beautiful that Jay made His Girlfriend Lorena's house better thru investing in her family who all joined in to make all of their lives better. He empowered them to put skin in the game and something as simple as a porch has turned into a minor business and gathering place where you could even get a haircut. pretty soon they'll have a Sari-Sari store featuring eggs and chickens. Clearly Jay has some skills as the bathroom looked good. Plus doing the bed for momma shows he cares allot 😢
Thanks again for showing us what Jay has done. As I have said before, he is an amazingly humble guy who just wants others around him, including himself, to live a decent life. Well done Jay, much respect to you.
these two need their own youtube channel, they have good chemistry and are very interesting to watch
I wonder when Jay is coming back after he leaves? Lorena has a nice house there - so wonderful for Jay to fix up her house.
Within 12 months, but he didn't pinpoint
Kool vid Derek. Your friend def helped his girl with life necessities. Spread those positive vibes. Gotta eliminate cynical mindset of the west and promote love for humanity
💯
thats what i enjoy watching, you could see how happy she was, just a few things we take for granted makes so much difference to her life
Amen, Albert
Lovely to see 😊, the changes are amazing that Jay has helped his beautiful partner Lorena,-(not sure of the spelling, my apologies) family and community.
Wonderful advise too Derek 👍
You can add a small pressure tank after the pump to even out the pulsing. It'll also increase the reserve capacity by the size of the tank you get.
Cool. Future reference... thank you
One of the best videos I’ve seen to date… great discussion of how life can get change- for the better. 👏🏻👏🏻
Glad you enjoyed it!
Another amazing video, wonderful friends of yours. Jay has done an amazing job and he has a heart of gold. Very inspirational and heartwarming ♡
If only all expats were like you guys. You must be extremely proud of what you have done for so many. Helping others in need is the most important gift we can give and doing so seems to give us a gift as well... the gift of love and compassion.
This video will touch many hearts and guide others on how to do the best they can to give back in the simplest of ways.
I may not have a special someone, but I am eager to help others wherever I can. The needs of others are everywhere and I should have no trouble seeing my opportunities as i have a few skill sets and a few pesos to share ♡
Thank you for this video, it was very uplifting, God bless
Very well said and thank you
I AM not critiquing Your great work, Jay.
One thing I have noticed. Even in my Wife's Family home. They don't use pee traps in any of their plumbing. And our toilets, sinks and other plumbing piped run off, they did not make any pee traps. So there is a noticeable smell. And the handyman cemented all the piping. Making it very difficult/more work to make the corrections, for breaking group.
I love the creativity of the work Your friend did. Even making the passive income.
The grey water run off from bathing, is perfect for watering the plants.
Phenomenal work Your friend has done, Derek. 👍

Good Job!!
A pressure tank would help with the surging water pressure.
Either a pressure tank or a simple "Hammer arrestor" which is an air chamber as the surging is air trapped within the line
I think I’m going to come over and do just like this guy. I’m 65. Only 2500 U.S. a month retirement. With some savings. As backup. ❤❤❤❤❤
Descent budget
watching this late was prepping for that hurricane coming
Dang!!! Hurricane?!?! Be safe brother
Wonderful treasure trove of how-to-home improvement Phillipines episode! I also wanted to express my thanks to Q adventures Bike rental for helping me navigate Cebu lapu lapu area. Derek and Ai where the most helpful ,kind and most accommodating people I've ever met. I'll be back!
See you again soon, Cheo
What was that, green mangos? This is on Bantayan Island? Jay did a good job improving the home. Wouldn't say that the home was bad before, he just added more modern convivences. What was that? You have a boat? Do a video of the boat! Thanks for sharing this video, Derek...Jim
Yes, Jim. Green mango and yes, boat
Living my dream! He seems younger. I’m curious of his story on how he was able to get his life to a place where he could spend a year there. She is so supportive yet independent. Filipinos are the most caring people.
He is younger and only has a few years on me. My understanding is he is a tech guy graduated from Georgia Tech and worked on contracted projects all his life so he is not bound to a "job"
It all works
enjoyed watching
HI 👋 U2! Girlfriend is a very impressive hardworking woman. Ideal lady I would like to meet. Not on that cell phone 📱 all day & lazy. Nice upgrades Jay🙏. Kind hearted man like you BUDHA D👍🙏😉. Keep it going brother 🙏. Blessings 🙏🌼🌸🌺
We are missing chicken legs here
Get an expansion tank inline after the water pump. All the surging goes away they are pretty small. Like smaller than a basket ball. And cheap too.
I tried to find a expansion tank but they are very expensive in Bantayan island. A pressure tank is also expensive around 400 usd. Not worth it personally.
@MrSkoobytime you can build an expansion tank easy enough. Short piece of 4" PVC which a cap on each end. Drill in the caps. Lower one taps into water pressure. Top cap drill in a Schrader valve (valve on your car's rims that airs up the tire). You may or may not need to add a bit of air pressure to the tank to eliminate the hydraulic hammering (pulsing) in the line. Super easy, super cheap. Hope that made sense.👍
@@goatman3828 Thanks ill research that solution.
@@goatman3828solution is an "air Hammer Arrestor" by a small chamber to alleviate the on / off surging of the pipes as it will eventually cause so much stress on his piping that they will break or cause a leak.
Happy 4th of July!!!!
Happy 4th, Joe
that wifi idea is great
Well done!!!👍 I want also recommend small pressure tank - 2L is enough, here it cost $30, but of course it is cheaper make it from pipe as described in another comment.
No idea, what is the price for city water there, but when I saw the amount of rain fall, it could be next project - rain water tank - very common in EU. Perfect for toilet, watering plants and with small filter also for washing machine. Of course could be drink water too, but necessary filters are way more expansive.
Can you bring Mauercio Deleon from Fer and Mau over here as he thinks he’s a Pinay as he’s getting older!!!
JAY IS A GREAT GUY BY HELPING THE WHOLE FAMILY OF HIS GIRLFRIEND LORENA THANK YOU FOR ASSISTING THE FAMILY.
👍💯👍😎
I love your channel bro.
Thank you, Glenn. Working hard to improve it
I tell everyone about your rental business Q if they're in Cebu.

If Americans move over to the Philippines or visit for a month or two or three can you go fishing? do you have to buy a license?
As I understand it, no license. I will know facts soon as we will be providing the service via boat (deep sea) fishing
@@qadventures I ask that because the sites I follow in the Philippines no one ever talks about doing any fishing besides buying it at the market's. I'm retired now and go fishing 4or5 times a week. I live in Southwest Washington State there's places to fish everywhere. Have a Great Day.
Sure. Completely understood. Fishing is not my thing so I can't speak intelligently about the license requirements. I have a subscriber turned friend who is coming back in October and we will do a deep sea fishing expedition together and create a fishing itinerary

So do you have to have a motorcycle license to ride there? Can you get a license there?
Just a regular license from your home country is good for 90 days here. No need for motorcycle license for scooters
Great channel.
