C&C F2P is a platform, a service, not a new game instead Generals 2. Generals 2 are part of that game, first free DLC content. You will still play GLA vs Europe, like in generals 2, but it means that there will be more factions, missions, game modes, etc content after game release.
And as I can see, you don't see difference between "scrapped game" and "extended game from one game to a service". We already had it before in other view. W3X -> SAGE -> RNA. Old engine was used as platform for future games with different art styles, totally different games.
So whats bad if we still have Generals 2 under other title and as part of other game? It's like to say "Generals 1 was canceled, because Zero Hour is out" Here we have not got Generals 2, but we have them as a part of game, like Generals 1 - part of Zero Hour extension.
