It's so sad that whether you're thick, skinny, or in between, you'll still get body-shamed. I'm thick, yet I'm so self-conscious because I get body-shamed by my family. I go to school that's all about being healthy and fit, and I feel fat compared to all the other kids. (This is not important, sorry.)
It angers me how these idols are getting hatred for their body figures like there is no winning or losing, someone is always going to say something about how you look or how your body shape is.
In the past my family also criticized my weight, even though I’m the average height and weight for a girl in America. My immediate family always told me I was too fat, but my aunts, uncles, and grandparents all told me I was too thin. I didn’t know what to think or how I should eat and exercise so for the longest time I kept bouncing between diets
Eat healthy and exercise more, and you'll build your self esteem + lose a lot of weight. You can do it!

I remember when my cousin got to meet CL. Her and her friend went her concert and they were early and got to help out backstage. She met the back up dancers, helped with hair and make up, and said that CL was the most down to earth person. She even got to hold her sweaty clothes lmao💀
Wendy during Red Flavor era was honestly heartbreaking to look at. You could literally see her ribs and her arms were so thin. So what if she gained weight during the Dumb Dumb era? She was healthy and that’s all that matters.

Beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder. I've always thought Umji was the prettiest in her group and had such a pretty, unique face in a sea of carbon copies. I love your compassion and your soothing voice. I remember that when IU first debuted at 15, she got a lot of backlash and even got called pig, even though she was still gorgeous and healthy. I think this experience scarred her for life and since then she became very focused on her image and wanted to be as thin as possible. She still puts loads of pressure on herself to be very thin.
Nope, she went to a different company that let her be herself. If you see IU now, she's in good shape, not because she's scared for her life or she worries about her image, she appreciates all the comments about her especially those negative ones.

Wow.....Hwasa's quote at the end made me cry actually. That is a beautiful perspective to have, but also one said through clenched teeth. What I mean is that she has had to receive so much hate to be that tough and strong minded. It's really insane because the first time I ever saw her I was amazed at her curves, very sexy and well proportioned. Bottom line is that we will never meet the world's standards, but no one should have to be harassed for simply being the way they are. It really shows how the f(x) girls truly care for each other. Everytime I see Amber on an interview and the interviewer asks questions that seem to be degrading towards the other members she always defends them. There are some interviews (just like the clip shown on this video) where there are really rude comments/questions about members and we can really see how hard Amber is holding back on her words.
Hwasa is rocking it. Sometimes I feel she is shooting fire at all the negative comments with her performance. She just rock in a lot of her performance clothing too. It’s the audience who project their own insecurity to the idols. It’s funny how audience want to see their standard standing on stage but they themselves doesn’t even meet that standard or have to go to the extreme for meeting beauty standards.

It's so depressing that this happens to so many people. All that's important is feeling comfortable with yourself. Everyone else's opinion is unimportant. And it may take ages for this to really settle in, it took me 19 years, but trust me, you are beautiful no matter what anyone else says.

When she looses weight it is more prominent in her legs and arms yet her waist line is still the same. It is not as defined like the other members of bp. But her body is lovely tho it looks so soft and feminine.

I was on anxiety pills and antidepressants for years and at 173cm weighted between 50-55kg and was skinny shamed
Then, in January of this year, I was prescribed different antidepressants cause I grew immune to the ones I had been using for years
That's when I started gaining weight, I'm almost at 70kg now and it seems like there's no stopping
I used to only drink water for days or eat a piece of chocolate when I felt my glucose levels were too low, but I kept gaining weight regardless
I was someone who was skinny shamed just 6 months ago and told to "eat something" which led to binge eating and now, I'm called "chubs" and people gasp at my appearance and make a fuss as soon as they see me even though I'm starving myself 90% of the time
I hope you find a way to worry less and enjoy more regarless of how much you happen to weigh.

there is really big standards in the industry especially with female idols. it pains me to see them starve themselves and lose confidence and self-esteem because of those standards. they trained for year to give us *great music* their talent are the one we are supposed to be focusing on. imagine training for years just to get body shamed and shamed by imperfect people, just to be called out for not qualifying for the standard. this needs to stop. let's focus on their talent, we should not interfere with their personal lives and their physical figures.

Edit: Lisa and Rosé have naturally skinny bodies because they were born with it, they eat a lot and don't go through the insane diets that all kpop idols through. They exercise and make sure to eat sweets and candies but also salads and meats, so stop shaming them. It's not their fault that they are skinny.

It’s just so frustrating that people think it’s okay to judge a persons body just because they are considered famous. I get that Korea has certain standards in the beauty department especially for women. As a person who is insecure about my body and has a low self esteem I can’t imagine having the whole world judge me based of what they find attractive and beautiful. There are many reason for people to seem bigger or fat. Medical issues such as hormone imbalances , genetics , or just how they were born. Many of us were taught as kids to treat others the way we want to be treated and all of a sudden when appearance seems to be more important later on in life it’s okay to bash others.
How can you even call yourself a fan of a Specific idol and body shame them? How are you not ashamed of yourself.
