The last time I took this test, my eyes were dilated right before the test! I did very poorly as compared to being tested without dialation. I will not be going back to that ophthalmologist!

They do that for a reason they should also do a better job explaining to you why they're doing it that way believe me I feel your frustration

You aren't supposed to be dilated before an VF! I use to perform these test!

Their not supposed to dilat for this test, only for regular eye tests and checking pressure. I have had this test more times then I can' count because I have glaucoma and their not supposed to dilat.

Thanks for the very informative video and complete instruction. I had this test done and was given no instruction except hit the button when you see 3 lines. To me it looked more like a vibration. I did not like getting the test done as I wasn’t explained so clearly as in this video . Now I am getting a retest using the lights instead of lines. Thanks again .. now I know exactly what to do . Much appreciated .

For patients above 40 years old, corrective lens for the test should be for far or near ??????

The most uncomfortable position for patient to maintain focus,,,,especially for patients with neck shoulder back problems.

It is actually not bad to experience. Hard to hold still and keep focus - the eye wants to follow the little blips of light. But hard just means it's a challenge - not scary. Once you have done it, it will no longer be a mystery. And it serves you and your doc. IF you do it, make sure to ask them to adjust the chin rest so you are not in a difficult position.
