    Stam1na ilmaisee tässä jotain niin törkeän kaunista. Tää video ja biisi sanotuksineen kaikkineen puhuttelee ja koskettaa niin syvältä ihmistä, joka tietää mistä tässä lauletaan ja on kokenut saman.
    Yksinkertasesti yksi loistavimmista bändeistä ikinä.

  • @Luukeksi
    @Luukeksi Před 12 lety +22

    The title of the song could be translated "half a person."
    The chorus is in English(with my shitty, clunky English)
    So become complete
    Become complete like you were before
    Become complete, you're missing the half
    Become complete, or you'll die alone
    So with this video it essentially becomes a love song. I guess.

    • @TheParez

      Loosely based on the greek mythology where one searches for its other half. Thus there's even a saying in Finnish :" Se parempi puolisko", which is usually referred to the female side of the union. "The better half".

    So I have heard! Difficult things can often be the most rewarding, though, and J.R.R. Tolkien must have had a good reason for Finnish to be his favorite language.
    While it is true that English would make them more marketable, I am not sure if that would be a good move for Stam1na. Granted German is a more accessible language, but Rammstein has seen huge success with little English. Stam1na will get there and their fans will love them for staying true to their culture :) This is Metal, after all.

    In Stam1na's case, that's like asking what is the meaning of life.
    No, but according to the video you could say he's singing about a relationship gone bad, asking for the other party to get her shit together, since it seems like she's missing a huge part from her personality or something. Again, there are so many ways to interpret their songs, since the lyrics aren't usually very straightforward, so I could just as well be wrong. I'd say it's about a relationship.

  • @poetsrear
    @poetsrear Před 7 lety +9

    Mankind is dual at it's current state. Male and Female. Humankind as a social entity has lost it's connection to the Feminine force of our being. Women are making masculine careers, architecture is cubic and ascetic, art is abstract and inintelligible, beauty is seen as wasted time and resources, everything is evaluated in money, children are brought up in institutions called schools instead by their parents, everybody cares only for their selves, the weak don't deserve our solidarity for we think they are responsible for their misery, we "don't have time" to our relatives, mobile devices are our closest friends, elderly are seen as burden because they aren't financially productive, nature and wildlife are murdered for profits, everything we do is competetive race. I could go on forever how the masculine force has been driving our society, or our very essence of being, for some millenia to a point where this half-life has run our nature dry and barren, out of balance, in utter complete disharmony and it is starting to poison all and everybody from within. This is ultimately far larger process than any of our constructs, but given life is invariably interconnected intradimensionally and interdimensionally, the most sensitive of us are beginning to feel this progressive traumatical catastrophe on a very personal and individual level, where it happens just as much as it does in larger human units. As above, so below, it has been said by one of our wisest. Thus, using the interactive nature of Nature, by healing ourselves and Becoming Whole in ourselves, we will indefinitely heal/unite/defragment(eheytämme) also the life around us. There isn't two of us. There should be one, which is of two equal halves. We will wither away unsparingly if we do not become whole. A fish won't live long either without water, nor without oxygen(air); both are needed for it's survival. I plead you, my loved one, to seek within and find all of you, both of our natures and unify, merge them in love and mutual respect. And you shall not die alone.

      They are. There is not a band on the go in the world of metal just now that can compete in terms of scope, imagination or skill. The only band that could is FNM, but they are now, er, well.. NM I suppose.
      Stam1na have not one bad song on any album since Uudet Kymmenen Käskyä. Phenomenal return. That they sing in Finnish is the reason they will never achieve the greatness they deserve, unfortunately. But I think if they were to change it, they would lose a huge part of what makes them who they are, the rawness and the roots. The woods, the sisu and the darkness that you lot are famous for.
