The interviewer continuously interrupts and berates the Bishop. He doesn't even let him finish answering before he interrupts him again with yet another loaded antagonistic questions. I'm amazed at how calm and composed Bishop Fellay was in the face of this type of degrading questioning. Bravo to the Bishop for keeping his cool while trying to explain the Catholic position on so many different issues.

+Stephen Poverello | Bishop Williamson was very foolish in granting an interview to hacks he did not know and never bothered to check out. Then, he failed miserably at defending himself by pointing out that the TRUE Holocaust-deniers are Vatican II partisans.
By Modernist and Liberal standards any refusal to condemn and denounce
the Third Reich and the so-called “Holocaust” is worthy of abhorrence
      and execration. Right?
Everyone, therefore, by Modernist and Liberal standards, must abhor and
execrate Vatican Council II because this wretched non-dogmatic council
shamelessly refused to condemn the Third Reich and the so-called
      “Holocaust.”

Answers were needed which would defend the faith, not patience.
Most of the world which saw the video did not come away with your (or Mr. Cestak's) feigned admiration for his patience (i.e., The man was trapped. What else could he do?).
Rather, most of the world came away thinking that 1) There is no enmity between the Synagogue and the Church; 2) Archbishop Lefebvre might have been a racist; 3) The "recognize and resist" position the SSPX has always (rightly) taken is indefensible; 4) Traditionalists are crazy.

To those who would say this was an excellent interview by Bishop Fellay: Why are you not posting it on your Facebook pages, Tweeting it to all your friends, and emailing it to all on your chapel email distribution lists to give it a wider audience?
Does not your embarrassment demonstrate that you are dishonest liars, desirous only of conducting spin and damage control, and attempting to use the "Jedi mind trick" (or was it the "Vulcan mind meld?") to recast this disaster into a positive?
And if your dishonesty is so flagrant in such a small regard as this interview, what can we expect by way of justification and spin regarding the BILATERAL recognition?

+Sean Johnson | A COWARDLY, IDEOLOGICALLY-DRIVEN AMBUSH; NOT AN INTERVIEW. It is quite obvious that Bishop Fellay was woefully ill-prepared for this ideologically-driven ambush portrayed as an "interview."
Furthermore, Bishop Fellay was not very prudent in agreeing to speak with this anti-Christian bigot. Sebastian's behavior is extremely unprofessional and an insult to everyone, beginning with himself. Sebastian shamelessly betrays his extreme ignorance when he insists that because men and women are equal in some things, they are equal in all things.

It was painfully embarrassing to watch this Shepherd of the remnant of the Church Militant allow himself and his Society to be publicly abused, to the discredit of the faithful and the Truth for which he is supposed to stand.
Bishop Fellay backpedals, makes excuses, tolerates this arrogant enemy of the Faith, and allows himself to be pushed into a defensive position. He is weak, apologizes for his expressed views and for others' willful distortion of those views, allows this rude jerk to interrupt and talk over him, and refuses to assertively confront his calumnious accuser or to stand up for the Truth. The pitch of his voice and his timid demeanor betray his weakness.
This arrogant British poseur is strengthened by Bishop Fellay's weakness.

"Let us reject also the wrong supposition of some of our friends, bad friends, who say the Society of St. Pius X is now in an abnormal situation. Because we are not acknowledged by the church. The Society of St. Pius X must come back to a normal situation and receive a canonical status from Rome. That is wrong! That is false! We are not in an abnormal situation. The abnormal situation is in Rome! We possess the Faith, the Sacrament and the disposition to submit to the pope. We have the Faith, the true Sacrament and the disposition of to obey the pope! And the bishops. We are of the disposition. We are not in an abnormal situation. The abnormal situation is in Rome, now! We have not to come back! Several observations:
    1) Why would Bishop Fellay have consented to be interviewed by this man? Perhaps the answer is provided by an insight from one of the French Resistance forums: "The oral exam before receiving the sect...and confession at the end."
    2) Watching Bishop Fellay search for politically correct answers to almost every question gave the appearance of evasion, and this in turn would cause the viewing audience to question the merits of Tradition.
    3) Say what you will of Bishop Williamson, but his straightforward answers -proud and confident of their sanction by Tradition- would have made a much more compelling response to the interviewer, and instilled much more confidence in Tradition than Bishop Fellay's struggling responses.
    4) Perhaps now Bishop Fellay can empathize with Bishop Williamson in being set-up in an interview?
    5) It seems to me that the ultimate purpose of this interview was to reassure the world that Bishop Fellay now heads an SSPX which has undergone a tremendous facelift and evolution: He wants to show the world they are no longer what they once were, while reassuring the priests and laity that they still are what they always were.

    Archbishop Lefebvre about Dom Gerard:
"He was saying, 'We will strive not to have this critical, sterile, negative attitude. We will strive to open our doors to all those who, though they might not have our ideas, would love the liturgy, so that they too may benefit from the monastic life.' From that period, I was worried, considering this as a dangerous operation. It was the opening of the Church to the world, and one must acknowledge that it was the world that converted the Church. Dom Gerard let himself be contaminated by the milieu which he welcomed in his monastery. Rome may be proud to have won a big battle and to have hit in the right place. It is sad...."

"Rather than read Vatican II in light of Tradition, we really should read and interpret Vatican II in light of the new philosophy. We must read and understand the Council in its real meaning, that is to say, according to the new philosophy. Because all these theologians who produced the texts of Vatican II were imbued with the new philosophy. We must read it this way, not to accept it, but to understand it as the modern theologians who drafted the documents understand it. To read Vatican II in light of Tradition is not to read it correctly. It means to bend, to twist the texts. I do not want to twist the texts." 2009

    • @arthurwohltman9353
      @arthurwohltman9353 Před 8 lety

      Martin
The Church cannot promote universal error, whether or not said error is declared "infallible". The ordinary universal magisterium cannot simply be disregarded as "pastoral" and therefore not binding. This concept is not Catholic in any way. Of course the teachings of vatican 2 are not binding.....but not because they were declared "pastoral" but rather because they come from a false religion.

    • @arthurwohltman9353
      @arthurwohltman9353 Před 8 lety

      Martin
I know the Church doesnt promote universal error as that would be an impossibility. This is why the vatican 2 religion is not Catholic. I really dont understand the problem. These same people who you claim are spreading errors (and yes, of course they are) are the same people who, by doing so, sever themselves from the Church...and that includes every last one of the vatican 2 false popes (ergo sedevacantism). Anyone who in any way promotes the documents of vatican 2 as being Catholic has severed him/herself from the Church. As a public figures who promote the heresies of vatican 2, like all of the vatican 2 "popes" have done, they are OBVIOUSLY all public heretics.

Sedevacantism is Catholicism MINUS vatican 2. Im not the one defaming a person who I call the pope....which is a mortal sin. The SSPX is very Catholic....up until they recognize a heretic as pope....that is when they cease to have any credence.

How crazy is it that you call a manifest heretic a pope? I have no idea what our Lord has in store, but I know that a valid pope cannot promote lies. You sit there, knowing the Faith, and wait for better days. How often do you think of the countless amount of people who die every day thinking that what Francis says is actually correct? Where do you think their souls reside?

(sarcasm) Especially, when he looked intensely at old Scratch in the eye, paused and said
"...I talk too much....". That look said it all.
(not sarcasm) Laughing? Funny? I think not. He saw the devil and survived.
