I filmed some old tractor Landini hot bulb, FIAT & SAME in action at the Plowing race 2019 of Roncoferraro (Mantova).
You can see the starting up operation and the warming up of the engine, the plowing before the race and fly bys.

Those Landini's look and sound much better then a Lanz!!
Landini was a great admirer of Lanz and at the beginning copied a lot of his layout but the hot bulb engine was more appreciated in Italy than Germany and Landini achieved better sellings. With better income Landini had more resources to improve his models so the Landini 's last hot bulb tractor are probably the most developed hot bulb engine ever made
@@attilioregolo9715 I´d say Lanz developed the hotbulb engine further than Landinid, to a point when the hotbulb actually wasn´t visible anymore from the outside, like on the Lanz D5506.

Veder mezzi storici sforzare oltre modo per un esibizione è da sciocchi.
È chiarissimo in diversi casi del filmato che si fa lavorare male una macchina destinata a lavori più leggeri.

Anyway, am I the only one who found the Half-track Landini L45 extremely fascinating to watch?
Is a very good machine but it never took off. It was originally made for entering the south italy market because of the very hilly terrain but at the end the fully tracked tractor and 4wd ones were better

Why the superlandini was the most powerful tractor in the world in 1934 with 50 hp it would destroy any other tractor from that year. John deeres only had 35/40 hp

Well it's all down to preferences really, but I quite like them. Also, I think the reason why you don't seem to like them is the engine. The two-stroke Hot bulb engine needs to have a part of its head heated with a blowtorch in order to start it.
But I quite like it because while the starting operation isn't exactly sit-up-and-go, they need minimum maintenance to run because the engine's very, very basic. Yet the engine makes quite a lot of torque, as you can see they're actually pulling ploughs that were probably for tractors that were 10HP more powerful.
Also, they're not too picky when it comes to fuel. They normally use diesel fuel, but they would also run on kerosene, or even vegetable or used oils with no modifications (of course, you better filter used oils if that's what you're gonna dump in the tank)
@@jcgabriel1569 the superlandini had 545 nm (400 ft/lbs) of tourque so they had a lot of torque. Here is a video of the l55 (the 55 hp version made in 1956) pulling a 90 hp fendt czcams.com/video/TdYnHnw_txg/video.html
@@jcgabriel1569 and the tractor was made very very basic because in 1934 you could only buy a tractor from the factory and they would ship them by train. So if a tractor broke down a mechanic from landini had to take the train to the farm and repair it on the spot. And they broke very rarely though during the plowing season they had to plow a lot of fields because there were very few tractors and one landini runned even 14 hours a day without turn it off once. (And all in one tank of fuel about 100kg of it)
