this is how a bike review should be made. i can go look up specs myself. i dont need my reviewer to read a spec sheet to me. bravo guys, loved the vid.
Thank you!
One of the best product "review" videos I've seen. Great mix of personal and technical information. The video, shots, edits, and action were also awesome. Great job and keep these coming!
Thank you Jason!
Thanks Jason. Much appreciated!
Why does everyone like Jason Grefrath’s comment? Who is Jason Grefrath?
So right on ! " Pure " !
Agreed, prefer this to reading specs which I can read myself.
You guys are perfect presenters! So far from the bought reviews at GCN. Honest, punchy and with great riding skills. It makes you trustworthy.
Monster watts up that hill. Far out!!
the bike looks top notch . also you should do a sprint training video like how do you get so good at sprinting.
Ride hard until you taste metal
I have a couple sprint videos on my channel. I also have some workout videos to help with sprinting.
you get good at sprinting by sprinting
Tommy Smith while true, doing specific workouts will help as well.
Standing Sprint Intervals: Put it in your highest (hardest) gear and go as hard as you can for ten seconds from a standing start. Then rest for 1 minute. Wash, rinse, repeat 10 times. Warm up for 10 minutes before hand, and cool down after. You won't want to ride again that day. 🙂
This is what I like about NorCal Cycling when they present
Finally a great bike review! Specialized making a great decision to get well-spoken, experienced riders to talk on the aspects you can't get from reading the spec sheet. Great work Jeff. Can't wait for the longer-term review.
Ignore the haters, it's awesome having a subjective review. When I got my new Emonda it was just a dozen channels listing off specs and approved marketing material for 10 minutes.
The content of the channel is expanding Jeff, nice honest reviews that you've made so far for some products you got hands on. Keep up the good work!
some of this footage is absolutely insane, congrats
Thanks!!! Jeff and I are trying to shoot and ride... it can be tough. Glad you like it!
You guys are like kids in a candy store! Glad you enjoyed the new bikes great video hope you get to do more of these videos!
I really enjoyed this. The footage and road you were riding were fantastic.
stoked you guys got to do this. great vid. hope you get more opportunities like this.
Love my tarmac sl6 2015. Time soon for an upgrade. Thanks for show this awesome new bike.
Oh my god, what a beauty of a bike. Super jealous! Saw someone with a MB Kit today @Alviso while on my ride. Gave him a good wave, whoever it was!
Great idea to review the bike while racing it. Provides a different perspective that usual.
best review yet - Brilliant vision of fast riding - the competitors on uTube all blurb out spec's rather than experience. well done. You guys should do all the tests as you are putting the bikes to real life situations
So refreshing to see pretty presenter. And excellently presented it was!
Well done Jeff and Chris!
Great video Jeff, the bike looks awesome 👌🏼
great and honest feedback. That's what we all want to hear... Thanks!
Time to take apart the headset and look for anything freaky deaky.
I got to be honest we all love cycling videos this is just what I need to get it going the blood I love it. I always watch these before I go out and get my body moving. I love when I always watch one of these, and then put up my heavy playlist I love like Delta Parole and then I just go haaaaard!!!! Tactic hasnt let me down yet.
It's called brainwashing
I respect your channel and opinion a lot...so please review more bikes like this!
Great video. Would love to see more like this.
That green paint is unreal
Love the Video!! Love the channel.
Great review! One thing I think would be great to add to your videos is the locations where they are shot. You mentioned that you found a road in San Jose region, with low traffic, etc, and it would be nice to share the location, so besides showing good bikes you also share good riding spots in NorCal ;)
Good you mention seperate bar/stem advantages. Gday from down under Oz 🚲👍
Loved the format. Two knowledgeable cyclists going at it and showing different shades of the bike... but would say this is more for current Specialized owners (very oriented). Sponsored riders by Specialized, praising the bike to be awesome goes little to sway me on how objective the review is.. but really like the concept. Suggest you stack it up against Cannodale SuperSixEvo Hi-Mod, new Émonda SLR (keeping an USA theme) for the long term review... nice job guys !
That's a good review. Great camera work too!
Thanks for watching!
Realy beautiful video as well being a lot of fun to listen to you guys talking about it. Definitely would like more videos like this! Amazing quality! All the best guys
Love the new content, definitely something new and different from gopro footage
Damn, Jeff. Went from an old Felt with chinese off-brand wheels and parts to a Venge and now a Tarmac SL7.
Truly "started from the bottom" and now we're here
Still all chinamade.
The new Felt FR Disc and AR disc are pretty slick looking, fast and well made bikes too
wow amazing.. I would like to have a bike like this at some point in time..
Shop just sold one of these, they look sweet. Was really tempted to give it a ride before sending it off
Great job guys thanks!
Great review! I’ve seen probably 20 reviews by the big sites and they all just requote the marketing material / use the stock footage. Having real world use - eg how it feels over a pothole on a downhill / how much confidence does the handling give you is much better to the average rider / racer not on a pro tour team and cuts through the marketing blurb much better
Nice video! Hoping for more
Nice vid. I plan on getting a Tarmac someday. Can't wait to ride one up to Mt. Hamilton.
Great info guys thanks from the UK

I heard the 4th comment here gets the bike ;)
Let's do the Oprah version like: You get a Tarmac, you get a Tarmac, you get a Tarmac, EVERYONE GETS A TARMAC
Awesome... the channel is growing
Cool review. Love the colour of that frame too.
Weight comparison with your Venge not really apples with with apples though: no pedals on the SL7 when you weighed it and it’s the S-works spec, so its several thousand bucks of lighter wheels/components vs your Venge Pro. Would be interesting to know what the weight difference is with the equivalent S-works Venge.
5:55 "It goes uphill crazy, it's super fast up hill" Looks at speedo - 6mph ;)
I can only stay with chris on ~14% @700+ watts for so long.
Now look at the watts
@@s1mpleniko488 yea!!! look at those WATTS! 💪🏻
@@ChrisRiekert99 damnnnn my idol and jeff
He was actually at 12 though
Beautiful, great review
I just broke my bike (trek domane al2) in a crash soo looking at vids like these are all i have for the next few months
That green glitter ✨😍
That paint is sick!
Bike looks great, I really wish they’d pull that specialized logo off the fork legs.
Wooooooowe, that green is nice!!
Good work! Thank youGuys!
Incredible bike!!
What a power that can give you!!
Filmed LOL. Bike looks great. I want one.
Best paint job I’ve seen on a race bike.
Awesome Video! 👍
Thank you!
can you do a video on how you guys train? and maybe tell us your cycling story? how did you get so good?
Drat... I've been avoiding all the hype about the new Tarmac... now I want one. Just not enough to pay for it. But a gift would be graciously accepted...
Looks lovely
6:05 *YIKES* Cross chaining!
I feel sorry for that poor rear derailleur!
@@5speed735i I think the rule of thumb when being filmed or photographed on a bike is to ALWAYS be seen on the BIG CHAINRING. Otherwise, you'd look like a wimp.
I just bought full carbon bike on ultegra for 1/12 of the price. That what I think about spec and all new bikes.
What was the bike?
@@LittleBU96 he's still trying to recall it from his dreams
It's Really nice to use for Sprint Training
It's Really looks so Good for me,Wonderful
Simply my dreams bike😍😍
Well.........those are badass. Was never a fan of the newer venge but that new tarmac could be the answer !!
Chris, show up at TNR today. I want to see it :-)
Great. Now I got to buy one
i'm waiting for the long term review! When can we expect it?
I don't like the fork-headtube interface...looks old. But pretty amazing that you've got this opportunity. Congrats!
i just bought the Sl7 green prism color --Loved it ! have only done 4 rides and i can feel the speed as well as how quick it handles----had the venge vias so this one feels more scrappy....whats the weight of a 44 frame ?? is it 920 grms?
Looks more like the Venge than the old Tarmac....gorgeous machine
Hope you can make a video about styrkeprøven in the future.. Its a 540km annual race from Trondheim - Oslo. Would be interesting to see Mikes Bikes represented :)
Same colour as mine . 54cm came in at 6.75 ride away . Awesome bike
That green flake paintjob might have just decided my next bike purchase...
I quite like the evolution..from the video some time ago..where you were saying...you do not need newest shit, look what I am racing on...to ..."specialized gave us a latest Tarmac for review"
Frame is a beauty but I couldn't afford to crash it in a race!
I would not bomb that road as fast as you guys were. Tons of people race on that road. Be safe 🤙🏾
Agree on the vertical compliance. There some clever engineering there. Compared to the Roubaix, the SL7 is only slightly less comfortable.
After seeing your great review I can see how aero this is. Lovely colour, similar to Oxford Green on my old BMW 540i.
Price though is crazy and also the parts.
So are there many 2020 Venge's around ?
Really pretty color in person!
Where did you shoot this? (I live in the Bay Area: don’t be afraid to be specific or share a Strava route as I’ll go check it out.)
I was wondering too. Looks like Mt Tam or Old La Honda.
You should do a test between the SL7 and the Venge like the test you did with the the aero vs non-aero
the new king
sick bike!!!! hey Jeff what type of program are you using to edit your videos?
premiere pro mostly
Que buenos corredores unos de lis mejor ciclistas que vi
Saludos de Argentina 🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷❤💪🏿
it really amazes me that a bike is far more expensive than a very decent motorcycle.
Tells you enough about the bullshit from this industry. I want one regardless though, and I don't want a motorcycle.
Let's put this in perspective. One of the nicest, most expensive race bikes in the world costs about as much as a ho-hum motorcycle. The equivalent performance level in a MotoGP bike would run you around a million dollars or more.
RUFF RYDAZZ I think this is the wrong way to think about this. The material/manufacturing cost of the bike is not even close to the material/manufacturing cost of the $12k motorcycle. RnD is also probably cheaper for the bike. The main difference is that there are fewer cycling enthusiasts (smaller quantity) and there are a LOT of wealthy cycling enthusiasts. People complain that these bikes are overpriced but bike shops have absolutely no problem selling them.
@@404nobrakes What? No. That's just, extremely wrong.
@@ruffrydazz2032 you're a dumdum, you know that?
Yup. Value your bike opinions 👍
those look like fun
Do you mind sharing the Strava route you used when filming this review? Good job on covering this bike. I look forward to more videos like this.
This all looks like lower skyline over by 17
Love the color of that bike and this video is super well done, Jeff! Which GoPro bike mount are you using for the rear facing camera?
it's a gopro saddle rail mount.
Great that you're getting this opportunity to review it, but where's the disclaimer on the nature of the partnership like you did on your Akaso camera video? Are you getting paid by Specialized for this? Did they have any input on the content prior to you releasing? Does Specialized get special treatment here?
Great review guys as usual. I wonder if Specialized licensed that wheel design from HED like Cannondale did for the SystemSix. The SystemSix was the first to do that with the rim being wider than the tire and it is clearly the fastest wheel design out right now. One has to wonder if the Aero bike category will become obsolete with this new wave of UCI limit GC bikes with aero profiles.
Wow that was fast. You got your hands on the new tarmac already Jeff?
Great energy guys!
Compairing the weight between a Sworks Tarmac Sram Red to a Specialized Venge Sram Force :')
The venge also had pedals lol the tarmac did not
Really like that "British Racing Green" color....
I ordered one in this same color back in October. It finally came in 2 weeks ago. Going with ENVE wheels and aero bar and SRAM Axs. Conti 5000"s
Can't wait for it to be ready!!!
Managed to just get one before they fully sold out everywhere in the UK!
Where are people getting the money with a major recession coming :/

Congratulations, dumbest purchase in cycling to date.
Unbias I’m so sorry I’ll return it immediately you’ve shown me the error of my ways
What size are you guys riding and your heights? Thanks, good commentary
Great video guys....being Canadian I would love to see you guys test ride the new Cervelo Caledonia 5....keep up the great work...👍🇨🇦
HA! Introduce us to the Cervelo guys! or go tell them to reach out to us!
Hey guys! Love the channel! Do you guys know the difference between
Green Tint Fade over Spectraflair/Chrome AND Carbon/Color Run Silver Green. Preferably size 58. ( cant find that info online )
