Used it to run cable above a skirting but the sticky pads are useless on a slightly textured painted wall, so had to secure mechanically with screws inside the trunking.
During the latter part of my working life -when my knees could no longer stand to be knelt on. I was working for a big Electrotechnical Wholesaler who in the mid 2000's decided to start stocking D-Lines products. Back then, we couldn't get customers to buy them for love nor money, but now they do seem to have broken into this vastly competitive market, mainly due to there D-Line Safe-D Clips. We did stock these at the time too, but since the 18th Edition of BS7671 - with cables needing fire rated fixing, everybody has sat up and took notice that there metal clips do an excellent job of fulfilling this regulation and preserving lives. Well done D-Line.

Something all trunking systems I've seen seem to miss is an easy/neat way to break out from existing flush boxes to new surface wiring. It would be great if they offered a box extender ring with a trunking entry.
First class video presentation guys , professional imparts all the information and easy to followâŠ.it looks easy how you do it âŠ.but those of us who know realise how hard you work at this.
Just bought some today for some supplementary cabling, because it looks so much better than the rectangular stuff and to paint on too
First saw it in Australia about 7 years ago. I used the mini to hide a twin flex on under cabinet T5 battens. Great stuff.

Yep used the grey to blend into a blue grey wallpaper, for a light and pair with remote wireless switches as walls newly wallpapered.
Iv been trying to figure out a way to run an ethernet through a house without it being on show and looking like shit and having to drill into the wall and what not, so glad I have found these

Used the d line on the alarm I've installed nice and neat used the fire clips as well decent system helps to use screws as well as the adhesvie strip may pull away in time on certain surfaces.

I love the woodgrain one. That would be great in my living room for running network cables.
More pleasant to look at than the standard square shape and decent accessories but no brand apart from legrand has junction boxes for trunking systems đ€·ââïž. Itâs always surface mount solutions too.. when will someone come up with some pre wired tube and make installations easy to rewire without having to have trunking above the skirting board đ€
Ok for domestic when the client doesnât want square trunking all over the place, but like the square stuff the self adhesive back is pointless as after a few months you find the trunking held in place by nothing more than the cableâs. great video as always Gaz/ Gordon đâĄïžâ€ïž
Iâve never had a problem with the square stuff with the double sided tape on the back.
@@mrseanpride6449 depends on the serifs if itâs a wall or sealing that gets worm then it will come away

@@efixx yes also I find it loses it tak in some places as the adhesive drys out . But maybe the newer stuff is better ?đ
The double sided tape should be to make it easier for you to install it.. obviously youâll have to fix it with a couple screws that are also going to hold the metal clips..?
Nice video, thanks. Any idea where I can get the adaptors that plug one size of trunking into another? (e.g. micro > mini) -- the various adaptors are shown around ~5:05 in the video. I've had a look on the d-line website & various other trade sites but can't find them.
I've got some micro that's got a flat ethernet cable in it, but once it heads into the living room a coaxial aerial cable joins the party, so I need to size up (and ideally connect the two different sizes of trunking).

Can you do a worked example of the calculations needed when using twin and earth in any PVC trunking with multiple circuits running and considering groupling etc and proection considering Ib
Installed some of this for a customer yesterday. She didnât want traditional trunking, but was pleased with how this looked and saved her a lot of money compared with chasing, replastering and redecorating. One comment I will make, while you can get 2x 2.5mm T+E in the âminiâ on straight sections, itâs not so easy getting them through bends so that the bend piece will stay clipped on!
Works great with the D Line fire clips and D-fixing screws too for premature collapse prevention and a bit of extra support for the sticky pad.

I use a fine tooth mitre saw for corners looks neater than the clip on corners.

Is there a joint that will take a vertical strip up a wall to a 45 degree slop up to the ceiling. I canât find any that does that it all seems to be flat angles. But our ceiling is flat and then slopes 1.5m to the top of the wall. The cable needs to run up the wall up the angle and off the angle to the flat ceiling to a projector. I guess it would be a flat to 45 degree joint Iâd be looking for at both ends. I realise this is an older video but any info would be appreciated.
Why put that ontop of skirting u get the skirting that takes the cables inside it . Even the ones that take radiators pipes
I have 1.5â rectangular trunking sticking out over skirting and it doesnât like nice. I hate pvc trunking as much as I hate the numerous pvc sockets sticking out of the walls. But if there is a more attractive alternative thatâs easy for me to replace Iâll take it.
can 4 HDMI cables fit into the 30x15 mm one?
Looks neater. Involves more work.
Looks good and could be just right for my office revamp. A question about the corner pieces: do they have enough 'give' to work with typical British builder's 90-degree internal/external angles? If the corner pieces require exactly 90-degrees, they won't fit many British buildings! ;)
They do have a degree of flexibility
The instructions say that you can file them down to fit, too.

How do you use the connectors
That fake wood is really nasty. On the other hand the trunking to back box is really neat. Is it easy to drill/screw through the sticky tape or should you remove that first?

How are these clips are fastened? You put a screw through the clip and directly through the the plastic trunking?
Hi, just about to fit some D-Line trunking to hide cables going from plug sockets around Ovolu skirting profile. If fit D-line above existing skirting profile thought might look a bit strange, so was going to fir along bottom. Interested in your thoughts. Also what are your thoughts as to fitting trucking up to plug sockets with 3 pin adapters on them again not sure 8f this would lookstrange. Ant other ideas on how to hide 3 pin plugs/ adapters?
Is it easy to replace rectangle trunking with D Line as a diy?
