    Ravan and Shiva gotta be my favourite, Ravan was a very powerful demon, he was proudly flying in his vimana after defeating his brother, he came across Shiva's mountain but couldn't fly past it no matter how much he tried, so he decided to uproot the entire mountain in rage, Shiva was on the mountain being lovey dovey with his wife, Parvati. When Ravan picked up the mountain, Parvati got startled by the sudden shaking of the mountain. Shiva simply pressed his big toe on the mountain trapping Ravana under it. When Ravan realised that the power of Shiva was beyond his comprehension, he sang praises for a thousand years whilst being trapped under the mountain and became one of the biggest worshippers of Shiva receiving his boon and a cool ass sword, those praises are called Shiva Tandav Stotram now. Thats why he says another thousand years and you might still learn humility or something

      Ravana weakness was his ego, no matter how much time passed praising Shiva he never grew to see past of it, and it became the reason why he lost to Rama, a human.

      @@Cra-b True, the three primordial Hindu Gods cannot disrespect each other's boon given to the worshippers. Shiva is considered to be the most easy going of all, it didn't take a lot to make him happy with his worshippers, so many demons tried to manipulate him by asking for ridiculous boons. He did give them all tho. But little did they know it was all part of a greater plan. Vishnu always found a loophole in Shiva's blessings, Because of his arrogance Ravan asked for invulnerability from both demons and gods cause he always thought of humans as being inferior, Vishnu found a loophole and took the avatar of Rama, a human. Completing the cycle of Karma and not disrespecting Shiva's boon at the same time

      @alienstar2088 Před 11 měsíci +17

      @@muramasa870 How? Canonically speaking, Cthulhu can wipe out any number of Gods without batting an eye and he's in the game with no issues. Part of introducing things like gods into a game is taking creative liberties and balancing them for said game.
      I can see Azathoth as a type of ranged healer and damage mitigater to show off his reality bending abilities, make his ult a huge damaging ability for all gods, including allies, to symbolize him stirring in his slumber and thus destroying reality.
      Nyrolethotep can be an assassin who's kit is based around turning into enemy gods to get close to targets before unleashing huge magical damage on a single target.
      There are a lot of ways you can portray the Great Old Ones pantheon and a lot of ways you can balance them too - I mean, the literal incarnation of Death is in the game and it's not breaking Smite.

    Also the funny thing about the first one is that there is two Excaliburs, one was the sword in the stone, the other was given by Nimue, the one Arthur uses is the one given by Nimue, the first one he broke, but both are seen as Excalibur (though sometimes the other sword isn't given a name at all).

      There is a theory that links both linguistics and the arthurian lore: the first sword was broken by a broken oath enchantment, historically, the first mention to King Arthur's sword it is given the name Caliburnus, so when the sword is remade by the fairies, the name would then change to Ex-Caliburnus, meaning that its owner could not keep a promise and literally unmade the sword this way, marking him as an oathbreaker.

    I wonder if we have any interactions with Ravana-Kali-Ganesha.
    They had a cool story together where Kalis other side Parvati basically gave Ravana a Giant totem pole to which where ever city he placed it would never fall in battle. Ravana had to carry this ridiculously large pole which weighed a ridiculous sum thousands of miles to where he wanted to place it in his Capital city. Ganesha learned of this and thought it would be funny to trick Ravana, and so he followed Ravana and acted like a kind hand and at one point offered to help Ravana resy by carrying the pillar. Ravana reluctant asked him to prove his power and thus he did lifting a mountain i believe. Ravana then greatful passed the pillar to Ganesha but Ravana didnt know he was Ganesha due to Ganesha changing his appearance, Ganesha then proceeded to instantly let go of the pillar after a laugh and if fell to the ground, and now with a rule of the pillar if it touches the ground it can not be moved from that spot. Ravana was enraged rightfully so and confronted Ganeshas Mother about the ordeal. She wasnt able to change the rule of the pillar but instead she herself proclaimed to guard Ravanas Capital City as Kali whenever she takes the form. Thus making it so only Shiva himself could hope to conquer the city while Kali guarded over it.

    Brief aside about the Hades and Persephone thing? That's just one version of the myth. There is another in which she wasn't forced to eat the pomegranate seed and did so willingly because her mother was so overbearing. I think there's even one where she went with Hades willingly, rather than being kidnapped, and one where he merely offered the seed and she ate it, but didn't know that eating it meant she had to return to the Underworld. That isn't to say he forced her, at most, he tricked her.
    Similar to the myths of Athena and Medusa/Arachne, there is rarely one single version, but multiple versions with even the smallest changes between them.

    Fun fact with osiris uh... hes actually missing his manhood and in order to ressurect him Eset and Set's wife (Nut i think?) Had to make him a new one and this is why he's stuck being dead in the underworld but cause Anubis is cool he just allows osiris to rule the underworld.
