    good oliver, the peregrine has only had one of mine this month to my knowledge, its usually about 5, hes giving me a rest.
    ive got 40 pigeons now. 16 spinners. gonna try an film them an put them on my channel soon. I have a roller hen it locks into a roll and hits the ground its done it about 50 times and its still alive. It rolls down roof tops into gardens, its the luckiest bird ive ever known. pigeons are tough, and they bounce back way quicker than us. keep up the good work pal.

    If I may ask, has any of your pigeons not been able to break out of their spin before they hit the trees, roof or ground? If so, how do they fair with the impact? Hitting the ground or any solid structure at those heights and speed must be quite a body blow.

    • @zlsolivers1011
      @zlsolivers1011 Před 8 lety

      +KlondikeG Klond a very small percentage of my birds ever hit the ground but when you breed deep spinners it does happen u must no how to fly them.

    • @KlondikeG
      @KlondikeG Před 8 lety +1

      +oliver henderson I see. I had some tumblers but NOTHING like these guys. They would maybe hit like a triple or a quad, your pigeons are like flying wheels. I really miss my pigeons!

    • @Traveler1226
      @Traveler1226 Před 8 lety

      +KlondikeG I finally have some deep spinners after 4 years of breeding. It takes some time to get there.I have had some that roll down and hit hard and some that just bump once in a while. I will not breed the ones that hit hard. But if the spin is nice and tight I will breed a bumper. I have found that most of the bumpers grow out of it. I get about 1%-2% that will touch the ground.

    Yeah tell me about it. It seems like these predators are getting better and better too. I been checking them out lately and it's seems like they go after the birds that are rolling

    • @zlsolivers1011
      @zlsolivers1011 Před 8 lety

      +CS DUSE yes I have 500 birds 350 proven 150 training year around and before I can max them out most of them are gotten its sad because the deep control spinner is rare, not many on the planet they need air time to develope

    well I think you might find that animals rights people could have a problems with your videos also for breeding these roll downs, that perpetuate themselves... This is not the time this has happened in the hobby, we all need to speak about thing responsibly and breed responsibly also... The animals right movement started many years ago... and showing the birds that are obviously rolling downs could put a target on you...

    • @zlsolivers1011
      @zlsolivers1011 Před 8 lety

      +Dave Henderson I'm already a target the feds have been to my house 5 time since 2012 with Guns search warrants and noise Dogs . Dave u can get a roll down out of any bird u should no that just because u don't see them brake out on film doesn't mean they don't u r assuming didn't expect that from u ,I breed for deep control birds and I get them, but just like everyone else I also get some that roll down on this video only two of the birds u c had to be picked up responsibly breeding is the discretion of the breeder as to what he or she wants to develop and that is what pigeon man, Dog man, Horse man, chicken man, humans have done for 1000s of yrs.Aren't u the same person that said ur birds never go up?

    You make a great point Oliver. I would like the chance to get rid of the Hawks that are making a habit of taking our birds. Just like a farmer is allowed to kill deer ruining their crops. Pigeons fanciers have a lot of money in our hobby /business. I am sure that being allowed to eliminate just 2-3 hawks per year would make a big difference for me. After the family of Ospray I had nesting near my house moved out the hawks came in hard this year. Let me know if you do talk to a lawyer and what he says about the possibility of being able to control the hawk population. I would be willing to pay for a permit to thin out the hawks. And yes, I know the bleeding heart liberals will wine and cry when they hear this. And yes, I don't care. Suck it up cup cakes. I have my own birds to protect. Hang tough Oliver. Keith

    • @zlsolivers1011
      @zlsolivers1011 Před 8 lety

      +Traveler1226 Yes Keith I had a talk with a guy from Tennessee and we are working on it , I think like you kind of like Bass fishing register by a permit and have a limit per yr this would also generate jobs and revenue for our cities.

    • @Traveler1226
      @Traveler1226 Před 8 lety

      oliver henderson Yes, though we should be able to defend our live stock without having to pay the govt for permission. I would rather it be a system where I do what I need to do to protect my birds and then just report the numbers that I had to dispatch. With in reason of course. Which would, I understand, need to be an agreed upon limited number of each species. But with the bunny huggers already on the offensive against racing homers we are getting into this in the middle of the storm. That is why, even though I don't raise homers, I still belong to the American racing pigeon union. They are already fighting for pigeon fanciers rights. Lots of cities are making it illegal to have a pigeon loft with in city limits.
