foals you keep me alive on this fucking earth, thank you.
This post needs more likes.
Maciej Skerka trzymaj się chłopie :v
+Maciej Skerka I feel you!
mnie też ;)
+Maciej Skerka I wouldn't worry about being alive too much longer unless you are prepared.
Every foals song is a spiritual experience
Michał Piskorski I hear that!
Michał Piskorski Saw this video and listened to this song for the first time while incredibly high. It was mystical ;)
Michał Piskorski I agree!
+Michał Piskorski Wow, you just nailed it with comment. Couldn't agree more
+Michał Piskorski Perfect comment. And this song, specifically, says a lot about spirituality.
Let's all appreciate the fact that most of the Foals' songs are over 5 or 6 minutes long. They are amazing musicians.
I notice the artistic ability that the drummer adds in in many of their songs. The guitar/Bass work is sublime for sure.
I mean, i understand there's a lot of different music tastes, but, How can you dislike this masterpiece? I will never get it.
This song always puts me in an extremely deep trance and sometimes it even makes me cry because it puts me in a certain "headspace". I've been a fan since the beggining and there music gets better and better with each album. This is one of their best songs, jeez I love them so much.
yess!
Same here sister! 💭💭💭💭
asia3pea90 no more weeds for today, just look & listen
What went down has to be my absolute favorite though... I love this one too.
Listen to: La femme - vague , thank me later ;)
This song is about growing up and realizing that your surroundings change with age. The knowledge you gain with time contradicts the truth you believed as a kid or while you were younger. It's about trying to make sense of your surroundings despite the many challenges that come with life. Thats what i got from it anyway
Life experiences pour out on a track heart of a true band enjoy what they do making kick ass poetry I agree with you
the new world order
rocco stoney I think you’re right on the money. It provokes existential thought and allows the listener to ride a wave of emotion. I believe it’s about our place in the universe and how confused we are in this current period of time. How we live for material wealth without a care for our planet. It’s almost a cry for “what’s the answer, why can’t we understand”. What is life and why are we consciously perceiving the universe in the way we do. “Chasing a memory” being our eventual death and all the questions we regarded as important. The deep blue sea being our reality and the nuance of it.
Deeper than that, it's about mortality. "Now our parents are long departed, who can finish the songs they started? Bodies are broken, but it's just a token of what is surely to come. Unstitch the suture, please pause the future, so I can collect my things. The fire is coming but we'll outrun it, we'll never be undone."
Those lines are a poignant gut punch of truth. You never know how much time you have left, whether it's decades, years, hours, or even minutes.
Seriously the imagery and visuals of this are insane. INSANE
Hell yes lol I was high as a kite watching lol damn good
+Zoe TheGreat absolutely agree!!
... And Neptune!
The drums really nailed the structure and rhythm of the sea swell and waves cycle
Ok seriously tho, this might be their best song to date.
yh ikr
2 trees
it is such a impressive song....
I’m new to the Foals hooked when I saw Neptune first time I ever heard their music. This song has to be my second favourite. So surprised to hear music like this today. These songs are so good.
The only one that stays in my top 5. This and perhaps Albatross
Long time Foals fan. This track is the track I would play if someone said I had to choose one track that best represented them. Wondrous stuff.
Best band on the planet
This song will always be special to me
A song that makes you wanna lie down on some heights and watch the whole world collapse.
Dudesnext we all gonna die, man
Yep.
i perfectly agree with your feeling !!
Just buy 10$ worth of magic mushrooms, does better, it's cheaper and lasts longer than a cinema ticket.
@@petitkus4408 I agree with this one
Foals touch dark souls
In every part of world.
Leif podhajsky is such a genius
Jake Sharp he kicks arse. I just scroll through his website to look at the shit he's done and I can't pick one out I don't like. Not to mention the variance of them
I love his work! Had no idea he did music videos as well. I had to check him out after I started listening to Tame Impala!
+Jake Sharp thx
+Jess Lovejoy great choice
+Leif Podhajsky thank you damn good video watch it high as a kite I was flying lol
To me, the biggest masterpieces from each Foals album's are:
1 Black gold
2 Knife in the ocean
3 Milk & black spiders
4Red socks pugie
Its my opinion, but I know that all they songs are pretty great.
Red Socks Pugie is like my all time #1 from them.
*birch tree
quien? quien te pregunto? jajajjajaja
I just learned how to play milk & black spiders on drums and it’s fun as hell to play. And the song itself is pretty epic in my opinion.
so true
This is the song I listen to the most
everytime i listen to this i get hypnotized lmao. this song+video has been helping me deal with anxiety & panic attacks. I LOVE FOALS SO MUCH
yh same! its makes me relaxed too:D
my heart hurts when i listen this music, so magic and sad
words can't express how much I love this song
I feel like this song is about what Dolores Cannon calls the volunteers 💙✨🌟🌍
This magical song made me run out of the bus with tears when I firstly heard it (in 2016). 'Cause the lyrics and voice goes straight to the soul. The video is perfect too
This 'Lyric Video' is more inspiring than any full-on music video I've seen this year
This song is really special, sums up all the record in such a beautiful and unique way. And leaves you a sensation of ease and at the same time a big rush that comes when you suddenly find yourself drowning in the middle of a flood.
All this so connected with motions (the back and forth, the coming and going of everything) this time well represented with water waves and underwater footage.
In the end the idea of constant movement: the need of destruction for renew, and the start to an end, is necessary to become an non-stopping force never willing to stay still. That why i love this song, reminds me that, we're a more than matter, we're this constant never stopping move, as sea waves.
I feel ya bro. Beautifully written!
Please never stop doing music!!!! You guys are the hope that music still has a future!!
Omar Saro I hate people like you. You making sweeping generalisations, are the people that suppress musics future. Its so ironic.
Foolish Knight you just made a sweeping generalization.
Foolish Knight haters gonna hate.... I'm open to ALL music. But as a child who grew in the 90's I see the new generations with their Reggaeton and I'm scared of the future of my childs
This is quite psychedelic... It resonates with my feelings and reminds me about one deeply disturbing vision, which core experience was fading, withering. The inexorability of time paired with cruelty of the world. The childhood becoming more and more distant, so distant, that I can no longer remember some things. And it's all inavitable.
after 4:34 it just transcends into another dimension. soooo good
~goosebumps~
I can't even explain everything this video is making me feel right now. It's otherworldly. I've never seen something that looked so much like what I dream on a regular basis. This is what you would see in my mind if I pulled you into my head while I sleep. My heart is racing so fast. How could this visual and lyrical perfection exist? Deja vu at it's finest. It's incredible.
Thank you for this song. It's so sad and beautiful at once. Makes me cry everytime
That drum line though....and the bass line. Big....It’s like heaven and hell have converged on the Earth and the Seas.
so true......you have put in words....so rightly.....
When I come to walk the line
The fire may come, but we'll be just fine
When I go to walk the line
The fire it will come but we'll be just fine
Mouth of the ocean be well spoken
Watch your [[P]]'s & [[Q]]'s
Now that we're older the future is colder
But what is there to do?
I'll walk the line I'll be just fine
I'll be right back on time
The fire is coming but we'll outrun it
We'll never be undone
What came of the things we once believed?
Oh, all lost to the depths of a hungry sea
Oh, what came of the things we once believed?
Oh, all lost to the depths of a hungry sea
And now our parents are long departed
Who can finish the songs they started?
Bodies are broken but its just a token
Of what is surely to come
Unstitch the suture
Please pause the future so I can collect my things
The fire is coming but we'll outrun it
We'll never be undone
What came of the things we once believed?
Oh, all lost to the depths of a hungry sea
Oh, what came of the things we once believed?
Oh all, lost to the depths of a hungry sea
When I go to walk the line
The fire it comes but I'll be just fine
What came of the things we once believed?
Oh, all lost to the depths of a hungry sea
All lost to
All lost to the depths of a hungry sea
Oh, all lost to the depths of a hungry sea
All that's left
All that's left
Is the eco of a roaring sea
Long gone
Long gone
To the trace of a memory
Oh, what came of the things I once believed?
All that's left
All that is left
Is the trace of a memory
I'm here in the March 2020 quarantine, I am afraid, I suffer anxiety and all this is causing me an attack. But this song is helping me. Thanks foals
If anyone was wondering, the first footage in the video of all the large rocks in the ocean is looking towards Cannon Beach Oregon from Ecola state park :)
This song is unique.
i don't understand how such a band can cumulate a multitude songs so brillant, so strong, so perfect..
Gives me chills, like so, so many songs by Foals. Simply the best, always and forever.
I come back here every once in a while to disconnect myself of everything. I feel like screaming, crying, jumping and be really still and just go with the flow, all at the same time. My mind goes back to the time I experienced this song live, it was really freaking amazing. It really does help to ease the worries of these uncertain times.
Stay safe and healthy, everyone
it keeps getting better and better with each new song!!!
so many good albums coming at me at once..foals x ambassadors and nothing but thieves
Lola Lale-Klasicki What about Beach House and DIIV ?!
Lola Lale-Klasicki What about Mac DeMarco ?
Lola Lale-Klasicki One Direction?
Arío Rojas i'll check them out..not heard of them :)
Quentin Quent haven't heard of them i'll check them out :)
The guitar bit around 1.35 into the song has practically disappeared and it sounded so amazing in the live version :/
Tom Hartland live is always better
Tom Hartland and foals have always sounded heavier live i found
Tom Hartland i kinda had a bad feeling about that ... whyowhy would they mind having math influences?! ... this is what i've always loved about foals and they totally drowned it.
Tom Hartland It'll be another easter egg for their live shows, like the intro to Total Life Forever, the jam in Total Life Forever, the mellow ending to Milk and Black Spiders, the perfect segway from Spanish Sahara into Red Sox Pugie and many others.
***** this is the live version www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b062hl1q Foals starts at 1:15:00 aprox.
jammin it since the release date. Still one of the best songs I'd ever heard. the goosebumps are there, incredible experience.
Hell yes I play it loud riding on the freeway
Yannise’s voice is heavenly
Nothing sounds at the same way since I discovered Foals !
A little sceptical with the first two songs. But this is the foals I fell in love with.
favourite foals song of all time, no questions
Drum beat is a reverse purdie shuffle, sounds so crisp and clean!
Thank u Foals, for be part of my life..
Makes me cry every time I love you foals
This song is perfect.
I liked this song when I listened to it on the album, but it wasn't a stand out to me. Then I saw them live and HOLY FUCK. It was like the whole crowd was hypnotised. Now my favourite Foals song, and these visuals go perfectly with it.
This song is so soul-ripping I could use it to make a Horcrux
Foals have come back with such a great album and all of the songs are amazing, I don't dislike one of them, I love them
I am sure, you will never make the song more coll than Knife. When i lissened it first time i was shured - the human could'n make this song. It was not a human song. I was shocked. Many years passed by i love this song as heavy as first day i lissened it.
Thank you for this music!
Still a fucking amazing song. When I first started listening to Foals I’d listen to WWD a lot and SCREAM the end of this song in the middle of nowhere with headphones on. I probably sounded insane but fuck it’s just that kind of song. You can feel it spilling out of you. Such an aggressive, dark and epic closer. Possibly my favourite Foals song next to Black Gold.
Progressive goosebumps. Yanis' voice really is fantastic.
This video was shot in my hometown !!❤❤ these guys are out of this world🌟
Really bro? That's cool :3
where is it???
+Dan Mills Not sure about the rest but I know the scenes with the huge rocks in the water is Cannon Beach Oregon
Spent all weekend at Leeds Fest and heard nothing that comes close to the sound of the Foals - they are amazing and I only discovered them on Thursday - a new foal is born.
Beuatiful closing track
This is for sure the best song I've ever heard in my life. So disappointed with myself to have discovered this band so late. Foals, I love every of your songs, but this one is pure heroine! Love from Italy!
Better late than never, ragazzo ;)
Simply breath-taking. Wonderful song. I don't care about the trash in the charts, this is just one of the best songs in like ever, not many tracks can compare at such a level, and the music video is simply marvellous.
I really love how long their songs are; true musicianship.
Sunday is their best song 💚
I like what drummer does here
Shidorki it´s a ripoff of a Death Cab For Cutie song called Grapevine Fires, totally a plagiarism.
Ernie Banks I dont give a damn about plagiarism, whole music stands on it by now, Times like that.
Ernie Banks I definitely see your point, having listened to the Death Cab song, but both beats are pretty much just variations of the Purdie Shuffle, so if anything, credit to Bernard Purdie for adding a cool drum beat to so many good songs :D
Ernie Banks such an ignorant comment. it's a variation of the purdie shuffle which has been used in many songs.
Purdie shuffle. if you think it's a rip of any pop song check out led zeppelin fool in the rain from 1979...
Vraiment vraiment VRAIMENT incroyable ce morceau 😱♥️
Embarquement immédiat 🥰
Grave mais quel voix et quel sacré Poumons de Yanis bordel!!!!!!!!
Foals forever.
This music video massaged my eyes.
Mine best far away.
Can't describe the feeling I had listenning to it when i was on a ship crossing aegean sea to mediterranean from bodrum. After a terrible storm, that beautiful clouds and the sunshine through them.
it says so much truly things about life, about the things you once believe were right but ....
Its been like the 70th time i replay the song, awesome i can't wait to see them in person.
jotdoj did you ever get the chance? Seeing them in May. Unreal live
this just keeps getting better and better
i've met Yannis last week after their concert at Summer Well Romania. They were f***ing awesome ! One of my fav bands
Three new songs are perfect. Give us already this GODDAMN ALBUM!
Unbelieveable.
It's a masterpiece. It will be.
Foals is the best band to listen to while windsurfing.
In my honest opinion, their live version at BBC Radio 1 sounded way better. But yeah, I'm still in love with this.
***** I'm with you, there. I was hoping the distortion at the end would be more prominent in the studio version, but just the opposite turned out to be true. I was also hoping the math rock part would be quieter in the studio version, and it is, but now it's TOO quiet, in my opinion. I also still love it, though.
***** Yeah totally agree with both of you. I suppose that's now an incentive to see them play this live, cos it's actually quite a lot better than the studio version.
c
Srsly guys i think the vinyl/mp3 quality track is gonna sound wayyyyy better...WHEN HAVE FOALS LET US DOWN?
Joseph Hitchcock Yo, I'm new to Foals and this genre and I've had trouble understanding what 'math rock' is and how to discern it. If anyone could explain, that'd be really helpful.
this song keeps ringing in my head for 3 weeks straight and it never gets so frustrating. love love love it! loving this song really much!
Monumental.
truly it is....it hits deeply....so emotional...
One of my all time fave snowboarding songs..bloody love it!
I found myself swaying back and forth watching this video. Kind of mesmerizing. Not talking about the song itself, which is totally epic. I don't know why, but I hear something "Pink Floydish" in the sound. Love it.
Such a chill track in love with Foals❤❤❤❤❤
Omg this song is SO beautiful like every foals song! I would really go up to a mountain, just lay down and listen to this song looking at the sky 😍
this song puts me in such a deep mood of good melancholy remembering their performance 4 days ago at the out of the woods festival.
foals are killing it live!
I have never been this excited for an album to be released! I love how their is variety among the tracks and I can't wait to see how it all fits together as what will, probably, be a very cohesive album!
oh, Im digging this! I feel the change in music happening. shades of the 60s- deep, great drums, guitar, vocal. Im loving this!
This is seriously amazing. What a superb song and combination of visuals. I'm blown away.
Layers of images well thought out. Work of art.
Everything about this is pure art
This song is amazing, I love you Foals!
this song often makes me cry. and the video is incredible. now after I've watched it I love this song even more than I had
Yet more from these guys! They are so good! I just love them!Paul Angeloni.
Everytime i hit the ebb of sound and song, the flow of bands like foals brings me back to sonorous shore.
That voice is a WOW and the music does not lack either!
Incredible, imo one of there greatest records
All that's left, all that's left is the trace of a memory....
Every Foals song is a big pray
Between this and Late Night, Foals saved my life in 2018/2019.
Really looking forward to hearing them do this one live...
