    Great Video.
    The passenger fender isn't as easy to install because of the windshield washer tank.
    You'll need to find and loosen the 2x10mm bolts that secure it to the inner frame.
    They are on the bottom of the tank.
    Then you'll have to slide the tank towards the rear of the vehicle to remove it from it's mount.
    This way the fender now will clear the tank and can then be removed.
    Another very important thing is that the fender is stuck to the frame with rubber molding and it will make it difficult to remove the fender.
    I used a very long serrated knife and sliced as close to the frame as possible top to bottom.
    When you put everything back on mount the fender first and then reach under the wheel
    well and slide the tank back into its frame mount and then replace the mounting bolts.

    IMHO DIY help videos are just that. They are not for entertainment. I need to replace my much more smashed front fender and can’t find where all the bolts and attachment points are. Was hoping this video would help. It did not. As with many informational diy videos out there they skip or fast forward through all the important info. Watching you unpack, wash and admire the fender did nothing for me, sorry

      Sorry you feel that way as I clearly show where all of the attachment bolts are located in the video. Please watch 7:21 - 7:43 again. Thanks.

      Agree. The intro should not be 7 minutes long. Absolutely ridiculous.

      @@tonyhernandez4569 I don't recall off hand. It was quite some time ago. But, I got it off eBay. Do a search for ones already painted. They were the only company at the time. Now there are several to choose from. Pick someone close by for shipping purposes.

    Did you ever find out what was causing your rear axle noise? My xterra is having the same exact problem.

    • @PatrickMichael2002
      @PatrickMichael2002  Před 5 lety

      Yes. Unfortunately, it was the axle. The breather valve was clogged. This built up pressure while towing a car hauler. It blew out the seal and leaked out all of the fluid. I thought it was just a brake caliper piston leaking. The sound was actually the gears in the rear diff grinding. Sadly, I had to replace the axle. It is good to check the breather often or bypass it and run a hose up to the rear tail light. Plenty of info on both on the XTerra Forum.

    Hi, just one quick question.
    Where did you bought the fender?

    • @PatrickMichael2002
      @PatrickMichael2002  Před 4 lety

      It was eBay.; I believe icon_automotive or painted_autobody_parts. Both are very popular.

      Supplier did not survive pandemic shutdowns. Just look on eBay. Many people sell them already painted to match.
