Searching for my First Keeper Striper - Spring 2024

- Fished the mid day hours at a few locations in RI, then back out in the evening hoping to find my first non-holdover bass of the year. This was coming after skunking a few times locally in RI, going out for an hour here or there, looking for the that first louse covered Bass, and generally not finding anything... It wasn't until this day that I found it. My first keeper of the season was actually Jan 11th but we won't count holdovers for the sake of this title. By now there are plenty of areas with fish, and hopefully plenty of good fishing ahead.

Appreciate you sharing details about your approach and not just highlight clips
Always nice to see you pop up. I really appreciate your videos.
Love it! Thanks for putting in the time to share your outings with us.
That last cast hit.
Great video thanks for the valuable info!
Always enjoy your videos, Chris.
Love your videos Chris, been watching for a while. Because of you, I've tried getting into throwing artificials (always been a bait fisherman my whole life) for some reason I don't have faith in artificials, I'll do a ton of casts and change up lures and eventually always go back to bait- I guess I just don't have patience with lures. Also, I found jiggingworld because of your channel and I absolutely love all of their products from Tog/seabass rods to surf fishing. Keep putting out content!
Good to see you getting rewarded for following your instincts. Things are starting to get interesting down here in Jersey. Cheers!
The warmer backwaters have been the ticket here in southwestern CT for the past 2 weeks. I've been nailing big schoolies and short slots with swimmers. Darker colors and a steady retrieve with occasional jerks have been getting their attention.
Just a transporting tip, if you put a bungie cord on the oh sh** handles it gives you a shelf to put the rods up and out of the way
Long time viewer. Just wanted to say thanks to the many years of great fishing content!
Great vid Chris. Nice to see you back in RI. Hope to run into you again on the beach chasing albies.
NICE! Gotta love that evening bite...
Jigging World gotta sponsor you forreal.. been binge watching all your videos with the Onyx rod and getting one tomorrow!
One question though, how long do you tie your leader?
Hey Chris hope your well, we are banging stripers and blues down at the shore. LBI to IBSP area! Thanks for sharing.
First time viewer, just starting to think about getting out to the Block for some surf strippers.
Nice catch. Loved striper fishing
It's all about that last cast, then the one after that.
I have the 802ml onyx with the clash 2 2500 with 15lb 832 for back bay. It's a fun little setup. Also, that Yo-Zuri spook has such a great action. It's one of my favorite early spring plugs.
Great video, cant wait to get out on my yak here in CT. Been hearing of some solid fresh fish pushing in. Just gotta get some decent weather.
Spook for the W
Best kind of fishing ever
Great video Chris!
Awesome video, I love the 8ft Onyx, great all around rod. Just slayed some yellow eyed demons with it.
