- I am building our own inground pool!! I feel like the ultimate DIY would be building your own pool and so I'm going for it. For the first part of this process make sure to check out part one in this series here:
• DIY Inground Pool Buil...
In this video we are pouring the poolcrete one bag at a time and spreading it out to create the pool floor. Once the poolcrete was spread evenly I sanded all the little bumps out to smooth it all out. Next up came the liner. I gathered some neighbors to help. As I slowly filled the pool up with water I worked on getting the wrinkles out and inserting all the ports and skimmer. Now the pool is full of water and ready to jump into.
Follow along for the next video in the series.

Fantastic!!! I am 67 years old and have just built our 35x18 inground concrete pool myself. I will be posting pictures when we are done. Its taken 2 months so far working everyday weather permitting.
WoW! Your a rock star! Can't believe you did this whole project by yourself. Making women proud out here!
Thanks so much! It was a huge job
Flipping AMAZING! YOU GO GIRL!
Thank you!
Very impressive! Can't wait to see the end product!👀💜
Me too!! HAHA thank you!!
You did a fantastic job! Your family is great and they should be very proud of their mama. Well done!
Can I just say this.... you are AWESOME!! I'd have you as my partner on ANY one of my projects, I've watched every video on your DIY pool installation series and I'm just so impressed with how you weren't afraid to take on any of the steps, even if it meant learning as you go.👏👏👏👏👏
Well done!! Keep up the excellent work and I appreciate the videos, I'm sure it's another added job... in a job that's already time consuming.
Cheers👍👍
Awesome work, thanks for documenting everything. After watching you show all the steps it doesn’t look so intimidating. I can’t wait to see how you dress up this pool build!
You can do it! Thank you! So excited to start that in the spring
Where’s part 4? I would like to see the final product! 🙌🏿 Amazing job!
You did an amazing job! I helped friends install an above ground pool before…but i would really love to give it a go installing an in ground pool at some point. I love how transparent you were during the process, as well as being thorough…calling the company to double check etc..
Awesome job!
Even with rebar, you will get cracking. SOME of the cracking can be caused by mixing it too wet. Wetter mix is easier to work, but more water makes it weaker. As someone who has been involved with construction (mainly concrete and heavy equipment operation) for 20+ years, I will say that I am very impressed with your work! EXCELLENT job for someone with little to no experience! Also, don't worry about imperfections, especially with the concrete. I have never been on a concrete job that went perfectly.
You just do such an amazing job. I honestly wonder why you dont have 100k subscribers. You a such an amazing hard working person❤❤❤❤
Wow, thank you!
I think you did a very good job. Two things to help would be: use five gallon buckets for your water. Pore in about three quarters of a bucket in after every batch and that will help keep your mixer clean and a good amount to start with when you mix your next batch. Thin add water as need. It is easier to mix consistent batches when you can measure with the buckets. You can pore poolkrete into a wheel barrow and make bigger batches if you like.
Second don't cut your scammer in until water is half full or so. Hook up a shopvac to jet hole and turn on. This will pull your liner tight for adjustment before and as it fills.
I hope part 4 will brought to us by Better Help or Hims! You rock!
I think you're being hard on yourself when you said it's not perfect. You've built a fabulous pool for your family who will have many happy days in it. If that's not perfection I don't know what is. Also really useful for those of us intending to follow your lead
Thank you so much!
Now wait a minute ma’am!! I was super invested and oh so proud of your work but I wanted to see the final product 😭
Great job on the details!
Bet it felt great to be able to start enjoying it Brandi!
Omg I literally cried hahaha
Great job!!!
Her husband has a Rockstar wife... I am sure he bragged on you every day at work lol 😊
Haha thank you 😊
amazing work! 👏
Thanks a lot!
Oh it looks so amazing!! Great job!! 😊
Thank you! 😊
@@EternalHarvestDecor You're very welcome ☺️
Wow!!! Badass!!!! That’s amazing!!!! You should be very proud of yourself…. Makes me want to try. We are looking to sell and buy a new home. We wanted to buy one with a pool, but that makes it hard to find. And now, with pool prices drastically increased, it more than we had to pay…. Maybe I can DYI???? 🤔😬😰
I'm impatiently awaiting your Pt 4 😁 BTW you're a rockstar!
Thank you! 😁
Very awesome! Good job
Thanks so much
100% Respect.
Great job!! 😊
Thank you! 😄
Very impressive and awesome job!
Thank you!
Awesome work
Thanks!!
Wow building a pool is hard work 😓i know i could never do it lol. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for watching
Thank you! great video :D
You are Wonder Woman!!!
I installed an 18x36 form royal pools. Very happy with product. I may be wrong but, I think you installed return panels upside down. Could be a problem if you witerize. Great job though!!!
You’re amazing
Will there be a part 4 soon? We are pretty much following in your footsteps with the same pool kit and needed to know how you finished things out.
When installing the deepend bottom, you should of built a hopper box to the dimensions required with 2x4s. Then ran stingers both ways from the top of the walls. Then use a plumbbob to get th elevation of your hopper pad.
Great work. Curious about how you do the decking. The poolcrete came out great. I'm still doing my rough dig, but I'm doing a 54' flat bottom pool instead. I'm at about 36x20, so I just have to do my overdig area for my 36x20 pool.
Thanks! Congrats on the pool!! I’m still in the process of pouring the deck! And using pavers for some of it as well. I’ll have a video on that soon I hope
Do you have an update video coming on the final pool product? Would love to see all of your hard work finalized! You did a great job mama.
Where are the 2 deep end drains?
Just curious, are you going to post a 4th video showing the finish outside and around the pool? We ordered almost the same pool from Royal Swimming and I just found your videos last night. This will be a big help, thanks.
Yes we are, I’m finishing the pavers around the deck now and then I’ll have the final video
WOW is all I can say! You are brave, determined and amazingly hard working! How long did you research this project before you "dove in?"
Geeeeez. People that have not mixed concrete can not even fathom the monumental effort it would take to mix, carry, and trowel in an area the size of a swimming pool. Were there some better ways of doing it to save the back? Sure, but it's still a dang hard labor intensive job and you did awesome.
Thank you! Yes it was super labor intensive and I needed a day or two after haha
You are one super bad B! Did you build the house too?! Hah!
haha
You guys should have looked into plungie precast concrete pools.
With all due respect to you and your family. You are a gorgeous beautiful woman ❤!
You are so kind
Id feel bad if my wife was out there working so hard by herself. Thinking of installing a pool someday myself. How long did it take from excavation to jumping in your DIY pool?
Great job! Do you have pictures of your yard now? Did you have a deck built around the pool?
Not yet! I actually just got delivery of all the pavers, that’s starting this month
You are such a talent! May God bless you and your family! Royal has polymer panels for walls (instead of steel). Have you considered the polymer option? I worry that steel may rust. Thank you!!!
Thank you! Yea we thought about the poly wall but ultimately went with metal 🙌🏻❤️
Good job I'd be so nervous. How's it looking now
Nice job! Have u had any issues with permits/inspections since the build has ran through a couple months? Just cause i know sometimes some towns/citys have deadlines on permits etc.
That’s a great question, we haven’t had any probs with permits, there were no deadlines set thank heavens. Our city has been pretty great to work with. The last inspection comes after decking now
SO IMPRESSED!! is there a reason you did not get a cement truck to pump in the poolcrete, like you did for the other concrete? seems like that would be much faster to do
Thank you! Honestly it’s because I purchased the poolkrete with the kit in the beginning before I realized it could be pumped. This way ended up working better though because I could work by myself and in sections when it was convenient
How was getting permits for it? Thank for this very informative videos
Not bad at all but I know every city is different. I made sure everything would be acceptable. Before I even purchased the kit I was in touch with our city.
Do you have a video of where you finish the outline around the pool on the and the total cost?
I’m currently finishing the pavers around the pool now, so that video will be out I a week or two.
Wouldn't it have been easier to put the mixer in there with you?
so in what state are you building this?
How long did it take?
Girl you are a fucking boss ❤
Have you done your deck yet
Where is the drain located?
For how long is good?
Who is the manufacturer of your pool kit?
Anymore updates
Would you do it again?
I think I would! I learned so much.
No floor drains?
No we opted not to have any main drains for a few reasons. One being I don’t love the look and also I thought it would be harder to plumb because our pump is already uphill.
@EternalHarvestDecor I see. Is it harder to keep the pool clean with only skimmers? If your water line gets under the skimmers, will it burn up your pump?
Do you know if you use floor drains, do you run a trench in the dirt with the PCV & vermiculite around it?
yes that is how you would install a main drain. We havent had any probs weith keeping the pool clean but we do have a port in the deep end that pulls water to help with circulation. It is on the same line as the skimmer and is about 4 ft down the wall. We also have a robot vacuum that works great
Cracking = razor sharp edges along each crack, bye bye water proof liner holes everywhere, not much research done here, or is this pre internet? Lol😂 wishing you luck.
amazing! ma`ma! what do you do? are you constructer?
How much did it cost?
