The thing I like about Teach is that he isn't the chosen one, he isn't the most charismatic or naturally powerful. But he is patient, he knows what to do with power and when he gets it the entire world is afraid.
And not to mention smart af

I love his character for much of the same reason I love Luffy, I love his relentlessness, his ambitious spirit, his patient scheming and his slightly off aura he gives off, like the flashback to when WB clashed with Roger, even as a youth he looked like a weirdo

Depends on how you define "plot armor" ...if it's sustainability of a character then yes Blackbeard does have plot armor as he is one of the main antagonist.....
the only one who represent a real pirate in one piece... while others act like advanturer,father, king or queen...
This may sounds very wrong, but this character has helped me be a better person, teach taught me how to be patient, and have a defined goal and an indestructible ambitions, he could have easily taken any position at whitebeards pirates and be a very well known and infamous pirate, but he didn’t settle for that, he had a vision, a plan and a steps to follow reaching his dream, he is the bad character and the embodiment of evil and he will definitely lose, but he gives a lot to readers, his fall would be a wonderful and great dramatic event
Nothing wrong with that. When I was a kid, my life was difficult because of my ADHD. It wasn't until I played Knights of the Old Republic and I heard of the Sith Code. It's because of this code, I got through the most difficult challenges in life. Without the code, I don't know if I would still be alive to this day

Nothing wrong in taking the good from the bad. I dare say Hitler, Mao, Stalin has the charisma many people would be envy off. He didn't use it for good but that's actually a positive trait if used correctly..
It's easier and simpler to just demonize bad people or characters, but sometimes, they actually have lots we can learn and respect for (and take precaution on, know thy enemy and stuff thing) and that's fine.
I think Luffy and Teach are pretty similar...
Except Luffy is not intelligent and patient at all!
And just for that, I'm so happy that Teach is in One Piece.
To show us what pirate can do when they do "anything" for their dreams.

Black beards devil fruit is easily one of the best. But luffy's devil fruit is barely decent , it's just that luffy is using the fruit in such a way that beats users who have better devil fruit.
@@Shivam-zg7lb yeah but black beard worked to aquire that fruit, luffy didn't, blackbeard planed and recruited his crew meticulously, luffy invited them with a smile, luffy isn't very cautious and yet always survives/escapes bad situations while blackbeard is cautious.
If one thinks very carefully about it then blackbeard has put a lot more thought into becoming pirate King then luffy despite never saying anything along those lines
@@wicked.a950 Worked hard? All he did is kill thatch, take fruit, ran away. Being cautious/smart has nothing to do with being pirate king. And Magellan would have killed him if he wanted to, he also got saved by luck.
Every time teach was in front of luffy, luffy's expression became something that we've never seen anywhere. Luffy knows teach is not only strong but also very ambitious. I respect that side of teach.
Also if I look at from teach's pov, I hardly find something wrong.

Blackbeard taking an earthquake at point blank range to the throat and walking away alive is one of the most impressive feats imo
Yeah but to be fair it was a basically dead whitebeard. I think him tanking a old but healthy sengoku shockwave was more impressive considering whitebeard had no strength left when he quaked on his face.
Man a lot of people may hate Blackbeard but he is an amazing character.

Wow. Good amv, some may say that Whitebeard was too prominent in the amv, but it is quite the opposite.
Blackbeard can only be understood alongside his father and his crew, just like black being defined by white.
Trust and care opposed to disloyalty and selfishness, family against true outlaws banding together
You have understood the true parallel between these two characters. Blackbeard is not just a villain, he is whitebeard's opposite. And the fact that he claims this era, which was whitebeard's era, is now his, is symbolically very strong . The darkness has conquered the light.
Like they say “ The brighter the light, The darker the shadow.”
