My Story about Autoimmune Hives

  • A brief introduction to my personal account of overcoming Autoimmune Urticaria using alternative and complementary medicine. I will be following up with more information in the coming weeks. I'm just one person, and certainly not a doctor, but I'm terribly frustrated that this kind of information is not made more prevalent in American society.
My pdf is no longer up-to-date. Here is what you need to know: Meat and vegetables for meals (somewhere between half and half, or 1/3 meat and 2/3 veggies by weight or volume), and fruits for snacks halfway in between meals (if you need them, after awhile you might find you do better without the fruit carbs.) Take 2-3 hydrochloric acid tablets and 2 multi-purpose enzyme tablets (like bromelain or Multizyme) right before meals. Fruit snacks don't need the enzymes. Free range and natural meats are best. Sea salt and butter are ok. No wheat, dairy (besides butter,) sugar, grains, nuts, fish, soy, or other un-naturals. Legumes are a gray area. (I do better without.) Drink water for beverages, club soda with lime or other fruit is ok, so is mineral water.
You should see marked improvement after 7-10 days and it should level off at about 21 days. Some constipation and intestinal cramping is normal with this kind of detox, especially the first time. Take Calm magnesium as needed to improve consistency of BMs.
I've been working on my hives for 3 years now and this is still the diet that works best for me. You can "ease" into the eating plan if it helps you taper off the carbs.
D-Hist is a great product that will take the edge off of the itch. I've taken up to 18/day. Completely non-toxic, but a supplement - not a cure.
Homeopathics have more of a curing effect. They're amazing and work really well for me, but start slowly with these. The symptoms will get worse for a couple of days before they get better (detox.) I recommend a "ramp up" approach for the first round. Do some reading on them before starting anything, and start one at a time.
    - Psorinum or Psorinoheel - you'll have to find a real homeopathic practitioner to get these - they're very strong. Start with 1 drop / day, increase by 1 drop every 3-5 days until you hit 20 drops / day.
    - Histamin, by Heel - take 1-10 / day
    - Apis - works surprisingly well considering it's not for typical allergy symptoms

I had hives really really bad for a few years. Then I got a job at a Holistic Center. The doctor gave me 50grams Vitamin C IV drip and I continued to take buffered C every hour. After that day I didn't have to take anything! And no hives!!! That was in 1981 , still no hives!

Nice video content! Forgive me for chiming in, I am interested in your opinion. Have you heard the talk about - Trentvorty Urticaria Victory Theorem (do a search on google)? It is a great one of a kind guide for curing hives without the headache. Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my close friend Aubrey after a lifetime of fighting got great success with it.

I must sound like a broken record, so let me put this another way: when the body is under digestive stress, it cannot absorb or use nutrients as efficiently, which results in more illness. The best thing you can do is to try the diet and enzyme combination. I have not been sick since starting it a year ago, which is -very- odd for me. Also, I recommend taking additional vitamins and minerals during meals. Look up the RDA for B, C, E, Zinc, Calcium, and Magnesium, and buy supplements accordingly.

It's 2am and I stumbled upon this video while I'm scratching incessantly from hives. It's been a good three weeks since I've been able to sleep at night because of it. It all started from a poison oak allergy, moving to allergic reaction to prednisone prescribed for the first allergy. All I can say is "wow", and I have extreme respect and empathy for those who have suffered much longer with their hives. I don't know how you do it. I'm at my wits end and can't begin to imagine your pain.

I have Chronic Idiopathic Urticaria and this is actually one of the most helpful things I've come across in the past nine months...without taking very high doses of antihistamines daily (which I don't always because they make me feel like a zombie) I will break out usually twice a day. I have scratched myself to the point of bruising/ bleeding (even blistering and scarring) and even contemplated very severe things like suicide (this was before going to an allergist and having the correct dosage of antihistamines and was breaking out severely)...Did you experience this as well? You talk about disrupted sleep and "looking like a leopard" but the despair and all consuming mind numbing pull out your own hair awfulness that I guess is more psychological rather than just the physiological?

I suffer everyday and it has taken a complete total on my body mind and life. I have gone thru the steroids allergy testing and now Xolair. This does not work either right now. I've struggled with this as well and personally think taking steroid creams will work at first (they do what your body is supposed to do) but eventually will cause worse hives or develop into other harsher skin problems such as Atopic dermatitis/eczema. I now avoid all steroid creams, eat healthier as this video mentioned and if possible, avoid stress.

I was too suffering from hives, everyday I was worried, tensed & it was one of the toughest phase of my life - I just followed these simple steps & I am feeling much better nowadays. Do not take food, which can trigger hives, you will have to make a note of what you can / can't eat & drink. Brisk walk for 30-40 min, green tea, very basic yoga breathing asana, add almond to your diet.

hello everyone i had the same problem with the urticaria thing. Ok my story was that i was very unlucky at my work, the cancer from my mom, my girl left me after 8 years of relationship, so everything came together. One morning i woke up and i was completley full of hives and itching bubbles. So i was doc jumping and searching for the internet for help. Ok so i started to change my life stop smoking stop eating fast food long walks and what realy realy helped was 2 times solarium in a week. I also started meditation and a potato rice diet! after 5 months it was completly gone just over night iam very happy its gone. Maybe it was caused by inner problems with soul and stuff like that. But i think the potato rice diet helped me the most

Mary Alice Hoppe my dear friend the cure to this problem is crushed neem leaves with fresh tumeric for several consecutive days.... Then go water fasting.... And the reason I say this is because neem is going to purify your blood... And most of the time why our immune system is so active is because you may have toxic stagnated blood that still needs to pass through to the excretory organs... And this can be due to the food that we eat... The stuff they sell on shelves have so many harmful chemicals in it.... Even the air that we breathe isn't clean anymore.... And the second thing that could be causing this is a leaky gut where the issue lies in the permeability of the lining of the gut.... When the body fasts.... It is able to save on the energy that is used to digesting food and use that same energy to heal whatever is wrong in the body.... Another method that I'm going to reveal to you is using cold packs..... You must take a sheet....soak it in ice cold water and tie around your forehead... Do the same to another sheet... Soak it in ice cold water and wrap it gently around your throat..... Now take a much bigger area sheet... Dip in ice water and wrap around your waste....leave for 30 to 40 minutes on and take to resting ... But don't eat anything for this time when... two temperature in the body combine.... The stagnated blood that you have will start to move and the toxins will instantly be passed out through your stool..... It is important to use enema..... But the most important thing that you will need to change is your diet.... You should only consume fresh wholesome food that is straight from mother nature..... Food that is rich in pranic energy....that is the stuff our bodies where designed to consume.... Not those food on the shelves that have been processed with so much of stuff we can't even pronounce... Don't let the marketing of those foods persuade you into accepting it because this world is very deceptive..... I really care for humanity... I don't like to see anyone suffering with this condition.... I myself know what it is like to suffer like this.... I have suffered with this in the past.... Hi Kacey. This is Ameet from India. I had this problem occurred in year 2002 for a month and disappeared with Ayurveda Treatment from a local doctor. Now, this is year 2014. Since March 2014, I am suffering with this hives. After undergoing several doctors. I self-examined myself and came to a conclusion. My self-examination is that used to eat after a long hour break. I used to have breakfast at 08.00 am in the morning and then lunch at 02.00 am in the noon and then dinner around 09.30 to 10.00. I started eating in between this and it helped me a lot. I hope that this resolve completely.

  • @hivesinfo
    @hivesinfo  Před 13 lety +1

@banu111 - It's typical for hives to go away and come back again. Usually, they come back stronger the subsequent time(s). Dust does not cause chronic hives - here the body has a systemic imbalance. A healthy person does -not- have a negative reaction to dust or any normal surroundings. So instead of avoiding dust, seek out the cause of the imbalance. Usually this starts with the liver, which, when healthy, detoxifies the body. Naturopaths are the most likely to be able to help you with this.

Autoimmune disorders are genetic and can manifest in a variety of ways but primarily in inflammatory processes. Bowel problems, stomach upset, arthritis, skin rashes, mouth ulcers, chronic pain, etc. I have developed an allergy to antibiotics that I was using for severely inflammatory cystic acne but have a gene that can present with an autoimmune disorder called ankylosing spondylitis. My father has this condition where you start have joint pain and then your bones start to fuse as your immune system starts to attack your own joints. It can be managed with a variety of things avoiding foods such as dairy and carbs which tend to cause inflammation can help. I think hives for many people could be tied to an autoimmune disorder and may be a manifestation of the body trying to attack itself in much the same way. Unfortunately that means you can only manage the symptoms with no cure

    • @wonderwoman6019
      @wonderwoman6019 Před 6 lety

xksingo Agree hive are sign of autoimmunity, but think more specifically of pathogen turning invasive. I am now 50, but back when I was about 11, I woke up with hives all over and eye swollen. Of course doctor had no clue. We just blamed it on strawberries, but I finally tried them few years later...NO! Not the strawberries. Now after years of declining health finally reaching debilitating point and in desperation from severe pain, as I was trying to relive pain, I found definite proof of systemic infection. NO doctor testing detected ANY infection at all!! By my request of imaging, it did show up. Of course Conventional Medicine is so clueless they will not even admit how ignorant they are...I highly suspect invasive Streptococcus Pneumonae, staphylococcus Aureus and eventually Pseudomonas which is opportunistic. Amalgam fillings, mercury poisoning, root canal, birth control pills all heavily contributed to severe snowballed illness...Acknowledged as Autoimmune Illness.

I have an autoimmune Uticaria that started 3 months ago. At first thought it was a bad allergy then hospitalized for extensive tests - negtv for Cancer & Lupus but postv for 2 underlying auto immune diseases. Sjogrens and Rhumatoid Arthritis. Have tried every corticosteroid available and a 3 day course of intravenous Cortisone with no effect. The only way I get the itch to instantly stop and stay itch free for up to 4 hours when it’s severe and a full day when it is not as severe is heat. All websites suggest cold compression Probably depending on what type of hive you have, but using cold compression cloth /water to relieve the itch doesn’t work. I tried ice cubes and the relief was only abt 20 min. By accident I found if I apply heat directly on the hive it has a sharp, tingly burning sensation for abt 2 -5 sec’s and the itch will instantly stop. My tested cure - hot water and my current favorite my hair dryer on medium heat. I used boiling water (hotwater bottle) before I switched to the hairdryer. The welts appears to have very little feeling and can tolerate the 10 sec’s sweeping motion of the hot air. I have gone down from 40 minute sessions every 4 hours 24/7 to 15min twice a day. As soon as I feel one appear I zap and ‘kill’ it with heat before it reaches the hive stage. I apply a herbal cream on all the treated spots afterwards, it will go bright red which goes away very quickly leaving the hive spot behind that will fade in a day without causing the intense itching again. I have it on 70% of my body and before I found the heat relief I wanted to peel my skin off, even contemplated suicide. This helps for me. If cold doesn’t help, try heat

If I'm not mistaken on the number, 30% of patients with autoimmune urticaria antibodies also have thyroid antibodies. Sometimes, synthroid will help a patient with urticaria who has no thyroid antibodies whatsoever, but that has only been done in clinical trials, and it is not common for a doctor to be willing to prescribe it (or insurance companies willing to pay for it) because it is an unconventional use of the medication.

People with urticaria should be checked for autoimmune diseases. I had head to toe hives everyday for almost 10 years, doctors had no answer, then finally I saw an immune specialist that tested for all autoimmune diseases. My thyroid antibodies were huge. It also explained my fatigue, and periods that would go on for up to 6 weeks. (again doctors didn't have an answer even though this is a classic Hashimoto's thyroiditis symptom.) Hives went away completely when I got on synthetic thyroid.

@needhiveshelp - I understand being cautious. I remember feeling like I couldn't eat anything without being nervous because I couldn't tell what was causing the problem. The truth is: you're a walking allergic reaction - the food aggravates it, but it's not the root cause. Eliminate the aggravation and I think you'll find a lot of relief. Eliminating the allergy is a much more involved process. I have found homeopathy and accupuncture work best for this, and it takes awhile.

My hives are caused by heat and sunlight. They come on when my body overheats or there is a big temperature change from cold to hot. If I can cool down, they'll go away. It's so bad I gotta wear short sleeved shirts in the winter so I can take off my jacket if needed. Been suffering for over 20 years and I'd give anything to get rid of this condition.

Well, straight up the only thing that really helps me is antihistamine. If I have to do a presentation or have an important date that I don't want to burst into flames, I take one in the morning (any over the counter one will do) and it lasts for the day. Other than that, I try and stay cool. :/

Thanks for the info, SovereignBeing, especially about reinforcing no soy - something a lot of people don't know. I agree with all of your comments except the part about water. Chlorine and fluoride are not good, but distilled and reverse osmosis water are acidic and should be re-mineralized to maintain a healthy PH. I'm not sure anyone is ever actually "fully detoxed" but it's true - the cleaner the better. And the more natural I eat, the better all of my physical symptoms are.

I have a similar story.. So down and depressed by hive like rash on my face that I thought I had pinpointed to my menstrual cycle meaning a diagnosis of autoimmune progesterone dermatitis but I just don't know as its so rare and the little patches on my face flare up randomly sometimes also. Docs seem to know nothing about this disease. I have been given prednisone by doc on few occasions when it had swelling. I take vitamin b & d and drink vegegreens. I plan to maybe start taking fish oil and probiotics. I also want to try and thicken my skin as feel that thinning may be a problem. I barely leave the house and try to avoid mirrors at all costs. Would have to go to the ER and get shot up with epinephrine. It has been gone for the most part for about 2 months now but occasionally flares up briefly if I get too hot or too cold. My doc told me today he is sending me to an immunoligist if it returns. Was on every med imaginable. Maxed out on prednisone and have to wait a yr to take more.

@KorionDotNet - Nuts are definitely a no-no for people with hives. I find that fruits don't make my hives worse, but they do cause some other problems, especially very sweet ones. Fruits, eggs, and nightshades would not be the my first things on my list to eliminate, but they are worth trying for people who have already eliminated wheat, dairy, other grains, sugar, soy, etc... The same goes for legumes/beans. I have no problem with them, but some people find they do better without them.

@whenfreedomfell - Due to this diet, digestive enzymes, and homeopathics, I no longer get hives regularly. However, when I had them (and I had them for 2 years before finding the right combination of these therapies) they were always with me, for 2 years straight. Sometimes they were worse than others, and they moved around. Usually, they were concentrated where there was pressure, like waistbands, and the backs of my legs from sitting. Now I only get hives when I don't do what I'm supposed to.

@needhiveshelp - Yes, I think the diet and enzymes would help. I think it makes sense to be cautious, but let's be honest, aside from fasting (which is only good for short periods of time) you have to eat something, so here are my recommendations: meat, veggies, and legumes for meals, and fruit (optional) for snacks. No sugar, wheat, dairy, soy, shellfish, nuts, cocoa, coffee, or citrus. Exceptions that are ok are: Eggs, organic peanut butter, lemons and limes. Non-hydrogenated oils are ok.

@COMEDYTVdotCOM - I can't imagine having this at 15 - life is hard enough at that age, eh? My suggestion is to stay away from the things that irritate the hives. It's very typical for seafood, especially shellfish, to do this. Also, like I said in my videos, enzymes help a ton, as do avoiding wheat, dairy, nuts, and sugar. It's weird at first, but after awhile it's not so bad. See a naturopath, and if you have some extra funds, get the Alcat test done.

However, there is a lot to know in terms of solutions. The exact relationship to a cause isn't clear, but there a lot of ways they can be improved or remedied. See my other videos for diet and enzyme recommendations. Autoimmune diseases often come in pairs or trios, it's not unusual. They should both improve from the same things.

Stahsay my dear friend the cure to this problem is crushed neem leaves with fresh tumeric for several consecutive days.... But guys there is always a solution to every problem... And no it's not through the pills that our doctors keep prescribing.... Those pills are going to do more harm than good... And that is the sad reality.....those pharmaceutical companies want to see us suffering so that is the only way for them to profit.... It's truly a corrupted system... If they wanted to they could come up with a cure for all the diseases in the world given the level of.. Wealth.. science and technology that these companies possess.... But they choose not to... Instead they design pills that are only going to treat symptoms but don't treat the main cause of the problems... For more information on the stuff I'm telling you... Please watch subah jain on CZcams... She is the one who has opened my eyes.... Now it's time to open yours too

Autoimmune is when the body attacks itself. The hives were cause byt he body attacking it's own protein. When you eat a PALEO diet (meat, fruits, veggies), you heal your digestive tract. The anti-bodies that attack the grain proteins (gluten, lectin, etc.) subside. When your tract is healthy, the body does not absorb those proteins into the blood, which start the process all over again. You also balance out the omega 3/6 ratio, so inflammation goes away as well. Pretty simple, try it and see.

Hi Phillip - Yes, this includes several of the same homeopathics that are listed in my extended video description. They work very well!

I wondered if you considered a reaction to MSG? I started to have urticaria and angio adema over the past year. I kept a really strict diet for two weeks then introduced a food enhancer called ACCENT which is pure MSG/monosodiumglutamate and then had a reaction. I also get terrible headaches, stomach trouble, difficulty sleeping, itching, numbness and tingling, and swelling pretty much all over the body. I've been to the emergency room a few times also with swelling of the throat and tongue.

Very thoughtful. Would have liked less words and getting to point in 3 minutes.

I'm not sure why, but I found this very funny! :D

Question for you (the poster of the video, or others who have similar experiences): do the hives come back when you catch a cold or flu virus regardless of the healing that was induced by previous diet changes? I have chronic hives too (autoimmune I think, if I'm translating the allergist's comments correctly), and I also have seen dramatic (sometimes 100%) improvement by changing my diet to eliminate certain foods (including gluten, sugar, and cow dairy) and to eat foods that nourish the digestive system and help heal "leaky gut". But when I catch a cold, it seems like I get hives even I don't any "bad" foods (or perhaps I just have an extremely heightened sensitivity to those foods while infected with the virus)...
