@@aaronp6426 Things will get better man. That Strat I sold was my only guitar, a little over 2 years later I’m up to 3 (less expensive, but still) guitars, 7ish pedals, and an amp.

While playing my own #1 guitar I had the though "Robert Baker would probably love this guitar".
It's a B3 phoenix, with firebird neck and middle pickups, with a tele bridge pickup. On a tele shape but neck through construction. You should try one. Incredible guitars.
Wow man, that's a huge pick up right there. Quirky guitars but tone for days. And it you fit a firebird and they click like you said, that's a lifetime guitar. The Esquire was cool, but there's a lot more flexibility out of that bad boy! And there will be more Teles out there to grab later.

The ultimate shread machine one of my favorite flavors, that neck looks amazing, and anything is possible with a firebird,the notes just jump out on this guitar, if you got it from uncle Larry you know it's good, the way a firebird sits on your lap, is like perfect in it's design.
I think the Firebird is the most beautiful, best fitting guitar out there. It even comes with an arm rest at the back when you are between numbers. Plus, it just sounds fantastic

People can gripe all day, But my absolute favorite shape is the Firebird/Thunderbird shape.
My two biggest guitar inspirations were Firebird nuts, Robbin Crosby from RATT & Steve Clark from Def Leppard. I actually got to play a few of Robbin's Jackson Firebirds about a decade ago and have always wanted one. When Jackson was bought by Fender they moratoriumed the shape, And the few 80's Custom Shops went astronomical in price. Jackson started building them again a few years ago as NAMM features but they're still just too expensive for an everyday basher. Sidenote, I have played a few of the Gibsons as well and I've found them hit or miss. They typically sound awesome but sometimes the bridges are wonky (Tune - O- Matics ala the Slash Firebird are great IMO) and banjo tuners just don't sit well with me. But all that aside. I still to this day love the shape. I currently have a few different ESP/LTD Phoenix models and love all them. They may not be super expensive ($900 - $1,400 range) but they're all smoking guitars & Bass geetars. Sound great, Play great and stay in tune. Plus when I used to use them in bands I was in live, I always got compliments on them.
They're not for everyone, But Robert, Brother you're gonna have to share the shape with me!! 😁

i fell in love with firebirds about a year ago also,i got one of those epiphpne inspired by gibson,now im wanting to upgrade to a more expensive model.the firebird just feels right in my hands. ive always been a les paul guy,now my les paul has some competition!

In 2017, I picked up a Gibson studio Firebird SE, and I love it. I find I pick it up as much a my Les Paul's. Now I want one of the Epiphone Firebird.

I think Firebirds and Explorers feel great on the shoulder. Explorer necks are too wide for my personal taste, but Firebird necks are great.

I played a Firebird at Chuck Levin's one time (the only one I have ever played) and I fell in love with it. I unfortunately couldn't afford it at the time. That was one of the two that got away (that and a G&L Legacy I played at a guitar center that my brother talked me out of buying).

I recently grabbed a used Epi Firebird. It's great playing while sitting but standing the neck dive is BAD. I'm thinking of moving the strap button to the bottom horn. Also I think I might need to refret it as it has the vintage frets and they are LOW. Love the vibe and sounds great though!
My collection will have mostly SGs and Firebirds, once I played mine I was hooked, you inspired me to get a Pelham Blue Gibson.

I sold my dream fiddle which was built by the one and only Jim DeCola who is the master luthier at Gibson today, when he was still at Music Lab here in IL to purchase my wife’s engagement ring. It was a good thing! Not sorry at all! The guitar was a Roland, GR 500 super Strat that was completely redone except for the hexagon pick up for the synth. It was re-painted white, had Schaller tuning keys, a Pro line Kahler Trem and Super distortion PAF, HS-2 DiMarzio package. With the Roland GR synthesizer. Plus, a totally custom Star Case flight case. That guitar is all over the first Trytan album. Neal Schon, Allan Holdsworth and I’m pretty sure Andy Summers from the police also played one.

Me and my friend have been talking about Firebirds alot lately, were so close to going into competition over who can find the best one first haha. This video has only fuelled the fire.

Last time I picked up a Firebird was probably 1977. I just didn't vibe with it at the time; it felt like it pushed my picking hand too far to the left. Now I'm gettin' curious about them again. The tone is gnarly, and I think they look cool (especially with real patina like Robert's new toy).

Ah man, you're review of the esquire prompted me to buy one. Admittedly it wasn't as cool as yours. Only a 2004 classic series but I love it such a cool guitar. Also your review of the Firebird prompted me to get the Epiphone FB. Pleased the Esquire was replaced by something equally as cool. Awesome playing as always.

I Got a firebird 2009 I had some much trouble with the low E string buzzing I took me seval years to get to play the way I wanted but the mini humbucker Sound great 😊

Loved Firebirds since I was a teenager and saw a picture of Brian Jones with one. I thought what is that guitar!!!? Then a few years later I bought my first Johnny Winter album Still Alive and Well and later learned he played a Firebird which made me love him and the Firebird even more. Never actually had one until years later when Gibson released the 76 edition. I bought it new for 600-something$$ a lot of money in 76 but I loved it! Only wish I still had it!

I totally understand you. Firebirds are so cool! And the ones I have tried sound really good too. Never had the money to buy one but when Epiphone released their Inspired by Gibson Firebird I couldn't resist. It's awesome even if can't compete with your new bird. 😊

I love Firebirds. I sold my first one and had instant regret. I eventually got another but had to sell that one too. I have just bought another one and this time it's here to stay. They are my all time favourite guitars and I can't be without one.

I played an Epiphone Slash Firebird a few weeks ago. I found the guitar played well, but the Slash humbuckers weren't for me. I'd love to get my hands on a Gibson, but they NEVER show up at my local GC.

I had a good friend back in 84 that loaned me his RD to play while i was waiting for my special ordered Kramer to come into the store.
That Gibson played and sounded stellar! not to mention that was a really GOOD FRIEND to do that while i was without a guitar!

I love, LOVE Firebirds! I would love to have a few different era models and the have one with modern updates. I feel they’re guitars that can cover a lot of ground!

Pretty cool. I’ve always wondered, is there a unique “Firebird tone”? Same question with the Flying V. Teles, Strats, some LPs and a few others let you know right away what you’re listening to. Does a person ever hear a Firebird or V and know immediately what it is?
