- In this video I share the new Saint Laurent Uptown Chain Wallet that I purchased from FarFetch. Unfortunately there are a few problems with it that mean it probably won't work for me. I still thought it worth sharing my frustrations though, as it may help others decide if it is a worthwhile purchase for them or not!

Love the uptown WOC - this colour is amazing. This bag is for those who do not carry a lot at certain times! Perfect elegant evening bag or a quick errand run. I have the smooth black & it fits my phone- ,keys -and my lipstick as well as the card holder that comes with this bag .Bought it for the evenings on a cruise & I enjoy how flat it hangs as a cross- body 👜👜👜
It is lovely and it does fit what I need it to - but in a higgeldy piggeldy way lol! I find I can pack other WOCs a bit more uniformly. If that sort of thing doesn’t bother you then this is a fab bag 😊
You are right to return something that does not work for you, no matter the price. Do you think Mulberry Small Darley may work better for you? They have one in Maple Silky Calf that's close to the neutral color of your YSL, only not in raffia. I agree, everything is getting so expensive that we can't just buy things on a whim only to realize they don't work for us!
I looked at Mulberry Darley’s when I was considering this WOC but they didn’t have anything in a similar colour. The Maple Silky Calf must be a new one, or one I just didn’t see before - it is lovely! So thanks for letting me know!! 😊

Hello Clare I have the ysl wristlet which is a tiny big bigger than your bag for only £520.00 can purchase a converter for around £20.00 however the ysl wallet on chain is only £870.00 an is the same as CC WOC hope you find a suitable WOC x
Thanks! I’ve seen some videos of people converting the wristlet with a chain and it does seem to work well 🤔. I need to go to the boutique and look at those, and the other YSL WOCs you mention which I think are the Cassandre ones - they do look more similar to the Chanel ones 😊
Its not just the cost of designer goids: the cost of living has shot up, especially utilitues and food is still increasing. I think its good that many are being more careful with unecessary purchases however: the waste and excess was becoming unconscionable. I'm at the point where every purchase large and small has to be perfect.

You’re right to let this one go. Nothing worse than keeping a luxury item you’ll resent later on. It’s hard to beat a Chanel WOC. Would you consider buying a preloved Chanel WOC in beige colour? Preloved price might be more acceptable if you go for the older style with snap closure instead of magnetic closer? I was also considering buying another Chanel WOC in beige but I want the new magnetic closure and these are way too expensive, some preloved ones are even more expensive than retail price. And the Chanel boutiques in Sydney never have any classic WOC’s in stock, I’ve given up trying ☹️ I was so lucky to get my black one back in July!
Yes I have been keeping my eye out for a pre-loved Chanel WOC but really struggling to find the right colour at a good price. As you say quite often the pre-loved prices are as much, or even more than the boutique price 🤷🏻♀️. Very happy that you have your back one as well though - I love mine and I’m very pleased that I got it when I did - fingers crossed you eventually find one in beige! 🤞🏼😊
Maybe you should try the other style of YSL wocs (there are 2 sizes) just to give you an idea of the smaller woc:- the saver will fit in it width way, but the saver is a few mm longer, easily fixed if you just bend the cardboard and push it into the space.

Yes thanks - I have now been looking at the Cassandre WOCs in the 2 sizes as their shape is more like the Chanel one. The chain length is the same as the Uptown one though so I would probably still have that issue 🤔 I probably need to go to the boutique and have a good look at them and try some different ones on 😊 x
I’m also eyeing large YSL WOC. This fits a tad more than Chanel WOC but costs half the price. So many things to like about it but you need to beware that the chain strap is quite short and most people won’t be able to wear it as crossbody. I am 157cm and can just get away with it, but the chain can be removed if you want to use a different chain. The dark beige is a lovely neutral & safe choice.

I would return it, it's so tiny- when I see women with bags that are too small/entry level I just think they want to wear these brands but can't afford them really. The amount of Mulberry Anthony's out there for example... just because it's their cheapest bag. I do love your Chanel and your Lotties, you've got a wonderful collection already!
Thank you! You are right- I don’t desperately need it I just thought it would be nice to have and wasn’t too bad a price - however it is definitely far too small and in my opinion still expensive for what it js. And I agree - I don’t want to compromise! 😊
Sometimes people just want a petite bag and it has nothing to do with the price supposedly being lower than a larger bag. Sometimes larger bags make you look foolish. Did you see that episode of Succession where that chick was wearing the large Burberry purse and stuck out like a sore thumb in front of all that old money/quiet luxury. "What is she carrying in there, flats for the subway?" LOL. Are you that girl? Thinking your large bags make you look "rich" but really people are judging you too.
