Dear Free Chapel Family. My dad has not missed ONE SUNDAY since JANUARY 12 1963. He is now 79 years old and still, even through the pandemic, never missed a Sunday. There he sits, in his shirt and tie, looking like a million bucks with my mom, a testament of God's grace and an example of what it means to be found faithful. During the Pandemic, he got my sister's church to allow him in during filming of services, and there he'd be with my mom, virtually the only people in the audience. 61 years of marriage, still holding hands. Dave and Mary Vaughn, I love you both so much.
Me and my best friend were there at this service. we arrived in overflow sitting down right when he spoke that The Holy Spirit was here. We felt it all the way from downtown to Gainesville, and we made it to the front 🙌 pastor touched are hands. It is truly a Holy Spirit ran church. He baptized me 8 years ago, on Pentecost.. But what was most important to me was, when I got to my knees crying out for my prayers to be answered a beautiful woman came gave me a key with a mustard seed In it, praying over me. I pray she knows and everyone can hear my text as spoken words. My prayer was answered that day! This isn't the 1st time that this happened at this church, but every time I go to the alter my prayer is answered. Say what you want to, but to see things change, right then thats God, THE HOLY SPIRIT, thats Jesus.. Only 1 time ever at another church in Orlando where I was called out, and anointed. Having my exact prayer, I prayed in silence answered out loud, have i ever went to church that this happened to me. Thank you for your heart being used for God. I want to thank that woman who prayed over me. God puts us in the midst of Ppl who take their heart to pray for the hearts of the broken. You don't have to, but you do because God has called you to be the person to stand in the gap, intercede for others. Thank u pastor for your passion for Christ our Father and His Holy Spirit. The House of God indeed. It's not been easy since we re-opened our worship houses. It's been 3 Sundays including today. God's grace has enabled me on all the 3 Sundays though today was an full-scale struggle.

I used to go to Free Chapel in Gainesville and didn't like it at all. It's the most unfriendly church ever. It's nothing like you see on TV, it's not that dynamic in person. I didn't feel the Holy Spirit there and Jenetzen rarely preaches. He flies a private plan to California every week at the church's expense. He's very much into his own family and nobody else matters..
@DJ, after you've tried a bunch more places and finally have a home coming to yourself, you'll realize that the problem was with you all the time. I mean it in all kindness and respect. I've been there before. When you go to a church to worship God, and not seeking validation from another person, you'd not see the need of stalking a servant of God online, to attack his efforts of preaching on Christ's behalf. You'd not get the idea of coming to shame him for traveling with his family where he goes. If he's just into his family, then that's a good leader, a man of one wife and a loving father to his children. Search your soul deeper and see the real reason why you're so bitter that Jentezen is committed to his family. You'll see that it's not a problem, for him to be loyal to his family. The problem is not with him. Again I say, when you've healed your soul wounds, you'll realize all these things you complained about are not the pastor's fault, and not the entire church of multiple thousands is full of snobs. An old adage says if you're wearing blue sunglasses, you'll see everything in blue. Check your own attitude. I pray for your speedy healing, in Jesus' Name.
DJ, I have a suggestion. Try going to Gainesville again, this time don't expect anyone to greet you. If they don't, you won't be disappointed. If they do, you'll be pleasantly surprised. It's a win win if you go there now expecting a red carpet when you step out of your car. Just go there looking for Christ. You'll be sure to find Him all the while inside your heart. If you start scanning others for how much Holy Spirit they have, you won't get an accurate measurement. Mind yours, sister. Mind yours.
A very wise teacher of mine by the name of Dr. just moody West Palm Beach once had me go to the large church but I was not used to. Later he asked me about my experience and I told him I felt a little uneasy in large crowds. He wisely asked me how many friends true friends that I really have. And I had to converse then and I would confess now that there’s only a handful but I can count as true friends. Are you done directing me to go back at this time just look for the Holy Spirit

The sermon-centric church service made sense when few people were literate and could afford to buy books. All would gather on Sundays to hear Bible preaching. With the rise of literacy and the internet, people can choose to learn from online Bible commentaries, podcasts, and each other. If pastors mention the need for community: We can't pretend that we establish community when everyone faces a stage during a Sunday church service. I don't see any need for church "as we have done it" for 500 years. I get my teaching from EW Bullinger, my favorite Bible teacher who I consider superb in biblical knowledge, including knowledge of the ancient Greek and Hebrew and all of their nuances. I don't think this trend of online learning is going to change. And, since we never built community inside the traditional church, we are free to build community as God guides us.

Gathering for worship is a big deal. There is something special about it that cannot be achieved technologically, online! You can't be baptized online! You shouldn't have communion online! When one dies, they can't be buried online!
Jesus said he comes to a place where two or three gather in his name. Whereas through technology people can "connect" yet they cannot have "fellowship" as it is envioned in Scriptures.
The argument or opinion you give is not biblical! It can pass for merely social argument, sounding like trying to worship God out of the comfort or convience of not having to travel to church. It is a way of forsaking "fellowship."

Again another error! Hebrews was written for Christian Jews in dispersion. I think you need to appreciate that what you call exegesis is simply a bias of a certain biblical scholar! I respect the preacher/scholar you quote. He does not say that people should not go to church!
I wish you told me how you can get baptized online. Or God forbid, if you lose a loved one, would you not be happy for them to be buried by an online? When you are sick, does it give you greater joy to see people physically present or to be visited online? Similarly, why can't we have a husband and a wife married "online" and never meeting physically?
In my seminary, I studied the ancient Bible languages. I did exegesis. It is a deception to think that the primary meaning of "fellowship" is watching a preacher online and chatting! Fellowship requires thorough knowledge of each other that can only be achieved in physical meetings and in small groups interactions.
Those who think of the church done purely online without any physical meetings have lost the original meaning of the word "Ekklesia." Many lukewarm and compromised believers, have opted to follow the patterns of the world rather than the biblical patterns. The biblical pattern for the church is to be found in the practices and teachings of Christ and the apostles. The apostles met daily and broke bread from house to house. Purely online services go against the basic human nature - we visit, we talk face to face, we have fun together, etc.
In my view, most of the people who have rejected physical attendance of church services were irregular attenders who have now found excuses in modern technology. Soon reality will catch up with them when they will have a need that will require the church to be present physically to support or officiate in certain ecclesiastical ceremonies. At that moment, physical meeting/attendance will be desirable and much appreciated.
I will be glad to hear of your EXEGESIS of this subject. What is fellowship by your exegesis? How does online service qualify as fellowship?
It sounds like your past experience with "church" wasn't so fulfilling? It feels like something was amiss in "church"? Yes, we can have bad church organization or experiences. Yes, at times the church people mistreat others, lack concern or support when you need them the most. However, that should not warrant a blanket condemnation or rejection of church attendance.
Even those that listen online, most of the times they listen to somebody preaching to people in a physical service that is livestreamed! I wish they watched only preachers preaching purely online without a physical congregation!
Church creates a structure for accountability. Church provides a family of people who physically interact. Church provides a support group. Church is very important.

Hebrews' audience were Jews waiting for the restoration of the Davidic monarchy. God promised the Jews that he would make a new covenant "with the house of Israel, and with the House of Judah." This is found in Jeremiah and quoted in Hebrews,. Hebrews encourages Jews to endure persecution until Christ comes to save Israel and for God to institute the new covenant. As Paul said, "And so all Israel will be saved." There is very little understanding of the covenants God made with Israel.

Sinners broke God’s Law and Jesus paid their fine. This means that God can legally dismiss their case: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
Then Jesus rose from the grave, defeating it. Today, repent and trust Jesus, and God will give you eternal life as free gift. Then read the Bible daily and obey it. God will never fail you. (living waters/ray comfort)
