I'm a newbie and sucking up knowledge like a sponge! This is a great video and has answered several questions I had. I have learned more from these free videos than I learned from my paid for program!! CLK will make me a #lockboss in no time.
Oh man if you start doing deep dives on all these keys your job will never be done! thank you for the good camera angle when cutting, great learning material. #lockboss
Thank You PJ for sharing your knowledge. I have not seen that adapter in my researching and learning quest. Just getting into the key and immo aspect of my diagnostic career. There is quit a bit to learn. #Lockboss
I have a 008 a mini Mite key machine and I use those adapters to cut those keys quite well thanks to you and the CLK supplies they work wonderful I used them last week on a 2008 Cadillac Escalade worked like a charm give my best to the lock father and again thanks PJ for your videos always enjoy them.#lockboss.
Nice video. One thing to mention is i have been finding the original has the tip worn off so it won’t copy correctly and I have to read the cuts or adjust the key so it will have the correct spacing. I have also found some of the ignitions are going out on some of these designs so keeping a spare ignition around for the more popular GM vehicles is always a good idea. #lockboss
My duplicator has the 4 way jaws. My first machine was a Foley-Belsaw model KM-200. Had to buy the adapter. Luckily, the HPC Blitz I use for code keys has two jaws, so no shim required. But if you cut one side on the Blitz, you can always use your duplicator to cut a second key both sides. Very informative video PJ! #lockboss
PJ I share you must be monitoring me! Lol.. I had a 2011 Silverado today that I had to duplicate a key for and my blank failed first try( thank the Lord a prax blank!) This was an important video for me.. Thanks!! Ps Thanks for getting my fill in gear to me so fast!
Tricky is an understatement it’s why I stopped using my 044 semi auto for duplicating auto keys they always pop out. That’s why I love my futura edge. Thanks for the #lockboss tips
I had a Chevy Cobalt key screwed up by a hardware store that would only open the door inserted one way. If you compare to old key you can tell it was cut at an angle. Had to do a little hand filing. Now I know what they did wrong. #LockBoss
#lockboss. Liked your class and was really hoping to see something new as far as tips and tricks. Unfortunately I know all that but, the class was awesome and you didn't leave anything out. Great job and planning on watching more of your videos.
Definitely useful info in this video. I'm not an auto #Lockboss but I do have an interest in learning, and videos like this one are absolutely perfect for that. Thanks!
Great video, clear, descriptive message; we must be vigilant to stay abreast of an ever-evolving industry; thank you for helping us stay on top of things. Excellent video for showing how to use those jaws and keys from flipping and using that little adapter to help not flip the key out of the jaws they work well both ways good techniques thanks for sharing #lockboss
I cut a old metal ruler into small shims for when I duplicate b106s or b111s. They work fine but I may buy a set of adapters. I forget about those shims. Thanks PJ for a great video and reminding me to buy a set of those adapters. #LockBoss
I cut no less than ten of these a week and the only problem I see is from heavily worn keys. You need to pay attention to the tip because in many cases the tip is heavily worn. You need to be able to judge how much material is worn off the tip so you can set the original back off the tip stop enough to cut your new key correctly.
Honestly they need to make similar adapters for the Nissan 237/da34. Seems like there's always issues copying the e-key from the proxes, especially when they're non-OEM. So glad we have the dedicated insert for the ITL, takes longer to decode/enter the cuts than it does to cut both sides. We do an absolute ton of the circle+ every day. # Lockboss.
I always cut a test key first, even for a duplication. Never know when a pot hole has knocked my 9160 out of calibration. Best to be safe rather than sorry. Those transponder keys can be expensive! #Lockboss
Very common for the tip to wear on these keys. I will use my hot air station to harvest the chip and put in a new shell. Since these chips lock to the vehicle they are programmed to, they can only be used in the original vehicle. I know it takes a little longer, but I hate tossing a perfectly good transponder because either the tip wore out, or the key broke. #Lockboss
As even the Great #Lockboss has demostrated Everything Has To Have Power Supplied To It. And hopefully, someday, I will have to mess with GM keys. And now I've got the knowledge.
@@clksupplies you nailed the key cutting aspect of things, but how are the chip distributed? In reels? You mentioned that it's only 1 time programmable so I assume an old chip cannot be reused. Anyway your production is great and very nice knowledge sharing so thanks!
Good info there. Tell me is it still worth it to keep complete keys with the chips in them. Or should you just harvest the chips? Not just Chevy... but other makes as well. #lockboss
@@clksupplies that'd be great, I've got a bunch of broke in half ones laying around from key extractions and worn out ones that I've gone and code cut a new one to replace it so lots of O+ chips laying around 👍

I've learned to place them on top of "A" jaw and all the way to the right. That NEVER fails on the B111 or TR47.
