In the scene where she's washing her clothes on the river, the song that starts playing is a version of "Moliendo café" one of the most famous Venezuelan folkloric songs. I felt so proud! (Venezuela is not remotely close to eastern europe, for the people that don't know anything about geography)
Also Borat speaks Hebrew throughout the movie and his daughter speaks back to him in the actress' native language, Bulgarian. And the Khazakstani people in his village are actually speaking Romanian. It seems like it's part of the meta joke that Americans can't tell the difference between cultures and see them as the same thing lol.
And Kazakhstan is in Central Asia next to China not in Eastern Europe
