Love your content. New Zealand , South America, and Alberta awhile ago. Great dry fly action plus cool to see how you guys position yourself for the best angles

You got it. It takes heaps of dedication to bring it all together... and this year we're re-setting after nearly 300 days a year of fishing and filming from late 2019 to mid April, 23. A wee change up and catch up catches up! :)
@@jensenflyfishing yea I agree. And I’ve had a lot of hobbies… I think you have to love the process not the final destination. Something to strive to be better at is what keeps us going. I just had my first video monetized on Insta and I’m getting there on CZcams. I just posted my second full length video using 3 camera angles and my shorts are doing pretty good!
Really tough to shoot a vertical video that includes the back cast and that kind of eat video! :) Music volumes can always be turned down - we can't control your device :) Thus the limitations of CZcams as well as high frame rate video (no audio recorded thus needing outside music or contrived stream audio). All the best :)
I wish I could figure out the hook set when fly fishing. I've been learning fly fishing for a couple years now and still have problems with the hook set. Fish always seem to get off no mater what I do.
Hi there. It actually begins in the cast. Line control is massively imperative. If you don't have a clean cast with control of your line to lead to firm lines to set into, you simply won't get a hook set. The cast needs to lay out, you need to know if you need a reach in your cast to the current, and based on the cast and layout and angles... what direction to set the hook into the tension. It takes some time for sure. The one thing we'd suggest is heading to our website www.jensenflyfishing.com and following the link to our Patreon Channel where we have our Fly Fishing Trout Streams Master-Course that walks through 18 chapters of in-depth fly fishing content. It's all laid out well and walks through everything. The best part is that's also where we take the time to reply in-depth as well. All the best. Dave Jensen
It's more a result of an over-powering of the rod on a long leader and a big, heavy foam fly, coupled with the curving head wind gushing through the trees and having to chop the cast to not snag on the back cast. There's a lot more to the video than you see here! :)
The music does not go with the cast. I will compose and record some water music for you…..but it will cost you taking me fishing with you! I net my own fish and tie my own knots and flies!😊
this is one of the better hookup videos that I've seen. beautiful cast
Glad you enjoyed it! Was a fun spot to cast a big fat foam fly to a 7lb brown! :)
Nice reach on that
@@Odhege8262 ?
@@puprilla reach cast….toss a mend in the line while casting🤜
@@Odhege8262 ah 😂 ya forsure
Whoo that footage was sensational, the way that fly and line was presented to that fish was incredible 👌🏽🏴 great work fella 👌🏽🔥🔥
AJ nailed the video for sure. :)

Must be nice. Congratulations on living a fabulous life (at least when you are on the fly water). Keep on with the amazing videos.

Best moment when they catch the flies
They are!
The dragon fly at the end! You clips remind me that I’m not good. Lol
yeah but we all just have to do one thing no matter how much experience - just give it a go, our best try, and see what happens! :)

@@-fishin you're lucky to have monetization on IG - not available to Canucks just yet. Good on you for giving it a go! 😊🍻

That was a freaking epic take!
Amazing bugger in gorgeous water!😍
The perfect cast.
When it works in every way you want it too, neat things unfold!
I want to see back cast conditions and the music a bit lower. That take was amazing

Beautiful shot. Music was a little loud on my end.
Thanks.

Nice take 👍👍
Thanks for the visit
Wonderful, art in motion. May I ask what fly line you are using?
😊 that's an orvis hydros dt 5 🍻
Can we just take a moment and look at that cast
given the where, it was pretty fun! :)
Do you wiggle your line like that to create slack so your fly doesn’t drag?

So beautiful
A favorite :)
That was nice. Made it look easy.
It was a great spot with just enough travel lane for the cast :)

:) Just playing with this shorts stuff and adding music I enjoy. But if you can catch up to us you can join us :)
4 too many back hauls
🤣 you weren't there to see what we were dealing with but go ahead... 😆
Looks like he was trying to get his shot just right and he did perfect cast.
DAMN NICE but SADLY VERRRRY ANOYING MUSIC!!! WTF!!! Ruins a Great Video!!!
8B ppl on the planet all agree on the same music, likes and interests- so best be over the top in opinion? Sure! 🤣🍻
Lose the music
