Between row 29 & 30, there should be 64 stitches. I have that not counting the two DC in each corner. Did i mess something up? Row 29, you said 64 DC.

Hi. its single crochet you want to do not DC. I've made this 4 times now and it's definitely single crochet. Hope this helps you.
