I lay in bed with the window open with recorder and headphones and hear coyotes, numerous bird species, frogs and crickets, some a mile or so away, none of which I can hear without the headphones. They sound as if they are just outside the window! We don't know what we are missing in the surrounding sounds of our immediate environment unless we use hearing enhanced equipment. I'm glad you listened to this 'silent' world Ed. I agree with John that sound recording is like photography capturing a moment in time. And again that Oregon is all one needs to experience a rich and full life. -Brent
