      erm... hate to be the pain in the neck, but it's either you're unemployed + you're friends (which it's not) or rather you're unemployed + your friends...
      just sayin'

    8:00 - Jilly's on Smack reminds me of My Friend Fats. Both songs have the same "theme". My Friend Fats on the Hallucino-Genetics vid is so well filmed that I was able to figure out the bass riff by watching the video. Neat shit, Les! Thanks for every single note of your entire career!

    Les, why dont you play any songs from Primus's album Anti-Pop? ive seen Primus 6 times, and this album is all but forgotten by the band live? WHY??

    • @mcnell311
      @mcnell311 Před 6 lety +3

    • @grandtheftautocj
      @grandtheftautocj Před 10 lety +3

      That would be insane. I'm glad to know there are Primus' Fans who really dig the Brown Album. I think is one of their best albums and still is the most underrated one.

    • @daledzierzek6978
      @daledzierzek6978 Před 10 lety +2

      Rod GS Love the Brown! It has such a warm, fat analog-ish sound and the songs are just great. I saw them about three times during the Brown era and what was kinda cool was during that time if you saw them live, you didn't see the Rainbow bass make many appearances, if any. So he would often use that thin-necked, light brown 6-string fretted Carl Thompson to play Jerry and Mud and other songs where he would normally play fretless. To me it sounded way different. Brown is definitely underrated. To this day, when I see them live and they play Over The Falls, Ler's solo is still the highlight of the show.

    • @grandtheftautocj
      @grandtheftautocj Před 10 lety

      That sounds sick. I envy the fact that you saw them three times back in the Brown Album era. So Les rarely used his fretless rainbow but, I am curious if he brought any kind of double bass to the shows?

    • @daledzierzek6978
      @daledzierzek6978 Před 10 lety +1

      Rod GS Yeah it was - Once at the Roseland Theater in Portland Oregon in fall of 97, Horde Festival in Portland in the summer of 97' and I'm pretty sure it was the KUFO RockFest in Portland in 98' i thought but my memory is fuzzy. It might have been right before Anti-Pop but Brain was definitely drumming. Yeah, all the songs where he would reach for the Rainbow Bass he would use that thin necked fretted CT bass. He always seems to use a Ned Steinberger 5 string upright back then for songs calling for double bass...and still using a NS last time I saw them last summer.
