As parents, it's so important not to ignore for too long that small voice telling you to separate yourself from your usual people & surroundings to come back whole. Sacrificing yourself is so glorified in many cultures and it's hard to challenge that. Glad to see an example of self care. Sounds like it was just what you needed!

Message received. The universe has been telling me to take some time out for myself and this video only confirmed the message. I work so hard at my job everyday and even more at home, being a single father to a 6 year old boy, and at times I neglect making time for me. I fully understand how important self care is.

This is making me homesick. I'm a Florida resident but I grew up in Cinton, MD, about 20 minutes outside of DC. I'm glad you enjoyed your trip. Dads need me time too, not just us moms.

This made me smile. Everyone needs to spend time alone outside of your immediate family. It's a different dynamic interacting with family when you're by yourself than with a spouse and children because you can truly focus on them. Kudos to you. 👌

I look how you interact with your grandmother and it brings me back to the times I spent with my grandmother (recently passed).
Only recently have I really started to think about her again and I haven’t really cried over it. Even at the funeral. Then it finally hit me and after 6 months and I start bawling.
You are doing great with your self care after 2 great losses, and I’m still learning to cope. Keep your peeps close. Extended or otherwise. Love the content.

This was me in 2022 & will continue to be me in 2023. I went home to Florida twice in 2022, primarily to see my beloved grandmother who has dementia & lives with my aunt. She is 83 & raised me. I know I'm being selfish, but I keep praying to Allah to keep her here ALIVE on this physical plane for us to be able to see each other again. I mean I know she will pass, I just don't want her to pass right now so I can enjoy every bit of time she has left since I live in Maryland. As soon as spring comes, I'm going back to see her & the rest of my family in Florida. 💕💕💕

This video right here...my recent loss is real fresh (my mother passed dec 22). My two older brother's passed in 06 and 07. My little sister moved out of state with her new husband. then there is me. I'm feeling all kinds of emotions, but im trying to figure out the order im supposed to feel them in. Going from a pack to a lone wolf is wiiiiillld. So, to mask the emotions, i stay busy on purpose(working 2 jobs). You're right, though. i do need to go somewhere and thanks to this video imma make it happen. Thank you to you and your family for the years of sharing.💜💜
