    This week Schony747 features a typical day at Southern Cross Station Melbourne back in 2012. The Vlocity train was relatively new and there was still plenty of diesel locomotive action to be seen on a regular basis! Sit back and enjoy the shunting movements, loco hauled passenger trains and the push pull P class H set consists.
    Have a great week - Brenden S.

    were both locos powered on those "push-pull trains" or only the leading one?

    • @Schony747
      @Schony747  Před 3 měsíci

      Both are powering. The extra power is needed for the 6 cars

      @@Schony747 There used to be 8 car H sets which were obviously in a push-pull arrangement, now adays they only need 4 car H sets because of well, PATRONIGE ON REGIONAL RAIL IS PRETTY LOW. Like once I was arriving at Wallan station to see a family member that lives out in the country and no-one else on the 5 car Sprinter got off there.

    A better time, before the current state government thought replacing everything (except for the Sprinters) with a 2 decade old commuter train and putting it on the whole network was a better idea.

    Its a bit like a lot of things now a days, this was obviously when people took pride in their workplace and surrounding areas, look at it now. Where's all the ground crews and yard rats { the garbo's of the railways}. It's the same with the loco's, the inside of them just have to function properly so they can be used to make money. The tick tock of B80's engine room. That was bloody aweful to put that up. The engine and engine room is a pig sty, the engine is filthy but it runs, its ok, it'll keep going.Where's the enthusiasm and the pride in your equipment. Nobody cares any more. It's not mine, fuck it, she'll be right all the wrong attitude. You put that image on the show the millions look at and they think is that how they maintain their train's.
