What are your thoughts about Rochester? 🤔
And we have bus too now ! Thank you !
Great review on Rochester/Rochester Hills.
Spot on.
Thank you! I appreciate you watching.
I grew up here in the early 80's. It was fantastic. You could get anywhere you wanted on time. Now i find myself living here again to be closer to family...and its an absolute cluster you know what. I live just on the south side of the bridge and the other day it took me 15 minutes to go 2 miles north on main street. Its nothing but a traffic jam. Its ruined.
For now.
I plan on "re-ruralizing" much of what has been built post 1990.
Madonna went to Rochester Adams high school
It was great in the mid 1970's, a really sweet place to call home. (I attended Oakland U.) Now! I don't even recognize it. It's grown way too big. Oxford and Clarkston too..Detroit sprawl is endless..Now, you have to go past Lapeer to find some elbow room, and it is pretty pricey.
The elbow room is getting hard to find to say the least. There are a little nooks and crannies throughout southeast Michigan, but they are becoming more and more scarce.
Living on Oak Street in downtown Rochester during Arts N Apples was frustrating. I'd come home from a long day of work and there would be three cats in MY driveway and the street would be packed so I had no place to park.
That’s a busy street! Definitely getting busier by the year.
I'm planning on studying abroad after high school and Oakland University is one the institutions i'm considering .
Are you going there
@@Simran12351 No but they are one of 19 potential universities I've shortlisted .
Its definitely up there. Not much to dislike about it. Maybe the drive out there is a bit much but it didnt bother me. Oakland twp is a great area
Oakland Twp is a great area for sure. Are you out and bout in Rochester often?
@Living In Michigan not anymore. I lived at adams and m 59 for prolly 8 years though. Loved the area. And this is coming from someone in Novi.
@@horseplop9 Very cool! Not a bad spot to be for sure.
I grew up in the area and it is now overpriced and overpopulated.
I would never move back due to the congestion and high cost of living.
Born and raised in Rochester and in the 70's and 80's it certainly was perfect. It was a great little town to grow up in. ❤ It was just a little country town back then. Not a lot 9f traffic, we could ride our bikes downtown by ourselves (except when the Oakland County child killer was active), now it's a bit too crowded and "Boujee".
Even from when I started going several years ago it seems to be changing all the time. It seems like that growth has exploded everywhere. I see that a lot in my hometown of Brighton. Telling people the malls and the roundabouts were never here when I grew up.
I've had cousins who lived in Rochester and I ALWAYS heard great things about it from them. I live in Grand Rapids and have been to Rochester a few times and always thought it was exceptionally beautiful. It certainly has changed a lot over the years. But especially at Christmastime it is SO beautiful. ❤️
I need to learn a new trade because the cost of rent is getting high. I do like downtown Rochester, but I don’t know how to afford to live here.
You talk about the traffic like it's bumper to bumper gridlock in LA. It's busy on Rochester Rd but not more than anywhere else. And you left out the schools?
Schools are always important! Just mentioned there were highly rated schools in the other video, so I decided to touch on other topics. Several more videos to come for each community.
Rochester and Rochester Hills are the best
I love this area so sad i moved out :/
Where’d you end up moving to?
Greedy developers combined with lazy, inept, transplanted city officials absolutely destroyed the area.
Grew up in Rochester (born there in 59), through the 60's and 70's. It was ok, a lot of spoiled bratts..lol
Nope.
Please don't attract people to this part of town.
It's become severely over crowded.
Greedy developers and inept citu officials haves decimated the charm that we once enjoyed from this area.
They have started designating "green spaces" in Rochester Hills but it's too little too late.
No, we're going to have to bulldoze any high density subdivision, or bigfoot home built since 1990 at least to make the area alluring again.
