God Joey's vocals were so powerful. "Roaring." And the band behind him sounds pretty fantastic as well. Always a treat to see quality historical Ramones material that is new to me. No exception here. Thank you.

The band was very close to Steven King. He was a major fan.

@@caerxhan8313Joey and Johnny didn’t like each other. Not only were they opposites politically (Johnny was a conservative, Joey a liberal) but Johnny stole and eventually married Joey’s girlfriend.
Only until the late 70ies, at the beginning thei’re close….
It's quite ironic how both stayed loyal to each other until the end no matter what. And Johnny pointed out on his autobiography Commando that once Joey passed away Ramones was over forever as he was irreplaceable. Great legends that are sorely missed.
Thank gawd you had the good sense to book The Ramones on your show, Dave. They got so little airplay from the media in their time.

I was born in ‘93 and unfortunately never got to see the Ramones. Love them deeply.
The only time I saw them live was at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, like 25-28 years ago. I was a teenager.

Weird seeing them perform this song almost two years after the movie came out. But it was a popular song for them.
The Dave's band made the song looks like the Vinyl/CD approach. Strong drums of Anton Fig, a second guitat and backing vocals, keyboards. Awesome.

Can anybody tell me why only Joey and Johnny are performing? I will assume this was the only time they played this song with a second guitarist and a keyboard.
Maybe their houses were close enough to the TV studio who knows. I still wonder why CJ and Marky weren't there, though.
