Rick actually suggested to Deanna to seperate Pete from his family and if he didn't listen to kill him. He was giving Pete a chance to live, but just not with his wife and kids.

Thank you for the great reaction. I'm always 100 per cent against AJ's judgement, but this time he is 100 per cent right. This show is teaching you something (about the world that the show portrays). After terminus, after claimers and after all that's happened suggesting that we should just tell Pete "please stop doing that" is infantile.
In normal society aj seems harsh, but in a do or die situation I would want aj on my team 100 times out of 100.

I think twd works best when it’s seen through the grey area. Both sides are valid but what matters is how it can be balanced. Rick is 100% in the right, and had he not stepped in Alexandria would’ve fallen. But to say he did nothing wrong is inaccurate. He completely loses it cause he’s paranoid and traumatized from his time on the road, which again pays off but if he wanted people to really listen to him it would’ve been a lot more convincing if he wasn’t covered in blood and pointing a gun at everyone. He wants what’s best for everyone but has a bad way of showing it

Rick is literally one of the best characters in any show.
What I love about Rick is that he’s not the most badass fighter in the world he isn’t some hand to hand combat expert When Rick fights he often gets his shit beat along with the other person The thing that makes Rick a badass is that he doesn’t stop he keeps going and keeps fighting even when he is beat to fuck It’s a more realistic kind of badass Rick has survived through sheer force of Will and determination and it shows that when he fights.
If only that showed during his fight with The Governor. I still don’t know how some guy who worked an office job beat a police officer in hand to hand combat. Rick had everything to fight for while The Governor didn’t. Having him lose that fight made no sense to me.

14:30 aj is in that shane mode. Yes rick is spitting facts, but the way he is doing it and the way he speaks is like a TakeOver evil group. Rick would not have liked if a group came to his prison and acted like this. Also, if you a had dollar for every random group quoting "this is how the world works now...!" You could clear a dollar store.

The fact that Rick is in love with the girl doesn't change the fact that Rick is right. These people were letting a man HIT a woman and her children and they did NOTHING. And then the girl literally said ''yes'' to Rick helping her, and Rick TRIED not to hurt him, but the guy went after him, Rick was TOTALLY right in my opinion.

@@CorsonDraxI think you’re arguing two completely different points. AJ/Rick/Carol were right. Domestic abuse starts as just controlling behavior. Then it turns into pushing. Then slapping. Then closed fist punches. Then full on beatings and eventually death. He would’ve killed Jessie and I don’t see a way that he could be “quarantined” without throwing a fit and trying to get revenge.
They already put him in a house by himself and he was breaking the furniture, screaming “this isn’t my house.” It’s either you kill him or throw him outside the walls (and risk him finding another group - like the saviours - and coming back for revenge). The only way to ensure he never hurts anyone or comes back for revenge, would be to kill him. But I agree with Michonne knocking him out when he lost his mind.

That's one difference between watching the series live and being able to binge watch it now. I had long forgotten the governor or Shane way earlier than reacters do. It stays fresher in their minds without the pause between seasons and mid season finales

To be fair as crazy as Rick was he had a lot of control during the fight Rick allowed Pete to throw him out of a window roll around in broken glass had his face smashed in but he never once tried to pull out his gun Also when Jessie and Carl tried to stop it there were key differences Pete punched Jessie from behind not caring at all how she’d be hurt while Rick pushed Carl away doing his best not to injure him as well as keeping him away.
I usually never agree with AJ but he was 100 right on every single thing this episode. You're a coward if you let a woman get beat and you understand she's getting beat. Her husband was only allowed to do that because he was a surgeon. Something had to be done and Rick did exactly that.
You know it's a great show when it gets you heated and fired up like that. I understand and partially agree with all the points you made, that's why the show and Rick's character is so great, there's no clear right and wrong answer and nobody is a perfect character with all the right answers. Love your reactions.

Rick’s rant at the end of this episode is one of my fave blowups of this whole series. He had such an arrogant swagger about himself which was awesome to see
I love the parallels between Rick's bloody speech and Shane's rant at the barn in S2.

Im not gonna lie , as much as i love Rick , i kinda have to admit that he became such an asshole in this season , it took him only a couple of day’s of being in Alexandria for him to snap and yell/threaten Deanna and the other’s to become cold and ruthless like him 😂😂😂😂 , i mean i know that they were weak but he could have found anothor way to help them instead of scaring them like 😂😂😂😂

I also think at this point in the show murder is just second nature to Rick.

Killing Pete, wasn't the first thing Rick jumped to, he said to seperate him from his wife and kids and if he didn't listen, then kill him.
Rick wasn’t fundamentally wrong but he WAS presenting everything wrong. He looked like a bloody maniac when trying to convince the Alexandrians. He lacked a tactical approach that would make people responsive. When addressing the Alexandrians, even though his message was right, he looked and sounded like the terminus and claimer groups we previously seen.
Exactly, this was the equivalent of Shane's barn scene. Right idea, wrong execution.

AJ is right, but so are the other guys. Rick did take it too far and messed himself up when Jessie asked him if he would do what he was doing for anyone and his answer was straight up NO.

I’m actually with AJ on this one. Sure killing Pete outright might be a bit extreme but also…is it?? If they didn’t have walls and a roof, would you just let someone hurt you constantly? No, you would do something about it, that’s exactly what Rick is saying. He might look erratic but he’s 100% correct. Everyone in that community is way too sheltered.
Rick is making the same mistake that Shane made. Allowing his feelings for women to put the group at risk. They were both right about the need to do things differently and planning better but their motivation was personal and because they wanted to get rid of someone who was in the way of what they wanted

The reason he wants Pete gone or controlled is bc he beats his wife and kid to the point where his kid wants to get a gun to help defend his mom. Guys like Pete who are unstable are a threat to the ppl around him. We’ve seen that plenty of times by now.

For once I agree with aj on this because Rick is doing what he has to to protect his people yuh he may be loosing his shi a bit but that’s only cuz he sees what will happen if they don’t change there ways. Rick throughout the whole show has made decisions not everyone agrees with but it keeps him an the people he loves safe and if I was Rick I would be doing the same thing if a group we joined tried to change how we do things an what has kept them alive in the first place, an since you guys are in season 6 now you should how they got so lucky and how they were even still alive to bring Rick in an his group, So Aj you got the dub on this discussion ‼️💯👍

I don't think anybody is saying Rick is wrong. But he went about it in the obviously wrong way. Being covered in blood after beating a man half to death, and waving a gun around, pointing it at everyone, is not the right way to do things.

AJ yes it does have something to do with ricks interest in her. She stated would you do this for anyone else rick said no meaning he cared about her in a way he dont for others, but I will say something did need to happen to shed light on the abuse to try and stop it and honestly rick was between a hard spot and a rock. Allow the abuse to continue and she possibly die or put an end to it. Rick has changed and needed a little guidance in this episode.

Nah Rick was in the right here. What’s the argument against him, that he pointed the gun at those people? Trying to say AJ is ignoring what’s important, but what’s really important here is the fact that these people are letting this man abuse his family just because he’s the surgeon! There’s no “easing into it”, if a child is literally asking for gun to protect his mother that enough proves that the situation is worse than we think. Rick confronted the problem that no one else would and he’s not wrong for that💯

I'm surprised you guys aren't on Rick's side on this. He is motivated by his feelings for Jesse but the bottom line is these people are weak and living in a fairy tale land and he knows they need to wake up or they will die. There is no 'gradually' getting use to things, it is bad now, look at what they are finding... people cut in half with W on their forehead. The community needs to fall in line now before it is too late.

I agree with Rick to be honest maybe his reasons are wrong but you need to remember that he has been in situations like this time and time again and it’s always backfired think about the governor arc so many lives could’ve been saved if they just acted fast and did something about the problem instead of doing nothing he learnt his lesson and he’s not gonna make the same mistakes

And rick simply wants to control him. But politic lady said no. She just lets it happen and in her words “hopes it gets better”. Rick knows this guy Pete will be a threat to the ones he loves and trying to keep alive. You will see how right Rick is in the last episode of the season. How can u blame rick for taking it the wrong way when he literally went the right way. He went to the politic lady and tried to handle it right. He didn’t go looking for it. He just went to ask Jessie if she wants help. And Pete came in all drunk causing problems. This wasn’t on rick at all if you think so you ain’t watching the show right.
Ok it's very clearly that Rick was in the wrong especially him pointing the gun that he shouldn't have at innocent people. Also what do you do in that situation, he's the only doctor in the place, if you kill him or send him away then what if you son needs medical help and the only one who could save his life is gone. So you can't kill or send away but you can't let him stay with her and he's a father of two kids. It's a moral dilemma that has no zero good options and if you think so you ain’t watching the show right.

Im a bit late, but have been enjoying your TWD reaction vids(and I usually hate reaction videos). The thing with this episode is, just like Shane, Rick is making some very good points(he is pretty much 100% correct) BUT his delivery is terrible. If he sat down with Deanna and had a conversation with her about what he has seen and been through, gave her some insight; told her in a calm, matter of fact way that they need to adapt to the world, as it is now, it would have been a much more productive conversation. Instead of him ranting all bloody waving his gun around at people...
And like Rick AJ does a bad job articulating his points. There are times when he is right, but does such a bad job explaining his position that he loses the plot.
