    Awesome, finally a standard, commonly used prismatic battery cells.
    I can't wait for the different PCB boards and maybe some DIY boxes.
    My hope and best would be to use and prepare a mount for a JK BMS for 12V-24V-48V that have an active balancer inside.
    Passive balancing is not sufficient for these large cells and they need to be balanced with active balancing time to time.
    For 16S batteries, the best is the JK Inverter BMS, but also the older type JK BMS - the black one is better than other BMS with only passive balancing.

    Yes, I *do* want some Lithium-Iron-Phosphate cells.
    I could use somewhere between four and eight cells in series, total capacity greater than 1kw, in an assembly that’s readily serviced and not too heavy.

    I'm looking to make a upgrade from the AGM SLA's in my power chair. How would it be possible to arrange these--or any lithium batteries--in a way that produces 24v with +75-aH capacity in the space of two Group 24 batteries arranged in tandem, Jehu? And what-all would you recommend having with them, aside from a proper charger?

    To re-confirm: @3:47: A single EVE MB31 314Ah 3.2V LiFeP04 is ONE kWh? Thus, an array of 30 would equal 30kWh? Can anyone confirm this?

    • @vaxt
      @vaxt Před měsícem +7

      Well, you probably want to do 16S (48V) so 32 would make more sense. Then you would have a 48V 32kWh battery capable of 600A (28KW)

    looking at your store at the 600A green cells that you posted in the video. I'd love to be able to build a couple of group 65 sized batteries that had enough juice to turn over my 2008 F250s 6.4 diesel. Tired of the lead acid ones sucking especially since I don't drive it enough and they drain super low.

    Mannn I love your content but sometimes you make me chuckle lol, posting about selling these cells roughly 16 days before that tariff goes threw. A absolute mastermind at testing the market and then making 25% more of you’re original price. I wish I had the funds.

    Why do DIY, if you buy all parts and batteries from your store it will cost you more then buying a rack mount battery that cost $1023. for a 51.2v 100ah.

    • @jehugarcia
      @jehugarcia  Před měsícem +4

      Because 100ah@51v= 5.2kwh/$1023 = $196/kwh Vs 280ah@51v = 14.3kwh/ $1536= $107/kwh

    • @KaceyGreen
      @KaceyGreen Před měsícem

      but as @vaxt said in reply to @shotelco 32 of these as 16S is ~48v and that would be 32 kWh and 314 Ah per series string so 628 Ah for the pack, at whatever they're charging here, 32 kWh of the racks would be what 6 modules paralleled to get ~30 kWh and thus $6138.

    • @jehugarcia
      @jehugarcia  Před měsícem +1

      Correct: 32kwh of the 280 would cost $3424

    • @jehugarcia
      @jehugarcia  Před měsícem +1

      And 32kwh of the 314ah cells would cost $3808

      @@jehugarcia I think I've decided I'm going to use the 314 for my project, I know you said you were thinking about it, but can we get the PCB bus bars and BMS taps etc for this too please? I'll be using a 48v inverter so something like all the ones you were showing for the shorter green batteries would be awesome to assemble my pack and place in an enclosure/mount to the wall.

  • @68HC060
    @68HC060 Před měsícem

    $96 per 280Ah cell is a fairly good price. The LiFePO4 batteries are much safer than Li-Ion.
    (I only want LiFePO4 at my place).

    • @68HC060
      @68HC060 Před měsícem

      -I guess it depends on where you live.
      Where I live, I can get factory-prices, which is 280Ah for $70 - and the cheapest cell would be a lot above $96.
      -So I still think it's a good price for a LiFePO4.
