"Remember us." As simple an order as a king can give. "Remember why we died." For he did not wish tribute, nor song, nor monuments nor poems of war and valor. His wish was simple. "Remember us," he said to me. That was his hope, should any free soul come across that place, in all the countless centuries yet to be. May all our voices whisper to you from the ageless stones, "Go tell the Spartans, passerby, that here by Spartan law, we lie."
+Joseph Sosa Now, here on this ragged patch of earth called Plataea, Xerxes' hordes face obliteration! Just there the barbarians huddle, sheer terror gripping tight their hearts with icy fingers, knowing full well what merciless horrors they suffered at the swords and spears of 300. Yet they stare now across the plain at 10,000 Spartans commanding 30,000 free Greeks! The enemy outnumber us a paltry three to one; good odds for any Greek. This day we rescue a world from mysticism and tyranny, and usher in a future brighter than anything we could imagine! Give thanks, men! To Leonidas, and the brave 300! To victory!
This was the most emotional song in the whole movie...all the sadness expressed when Queen Gorgo learns of the death of her King Leonidas. The vocalizing really brought out the emotion. EXCELLENT war film this was! AHOOO AHOOO AHOO.
No words can explain just how beautiful this song is, it gives a sense of sadness, the flutes can tell a story alone, her voice so melodic with the flutes and violins , almost like wind. This song not only is great, but it affect the way we feel, and perceive things. Absolutely stunning.
"Remember us... remember why we died" I'm a Greek, and I love my country, and I have to say that I never forget what they've done for my country, they died, to keep my hands clean for blood... they only thing that I have to say 300's death is this... It didn't be for nothing...
This song is so old that no one knows who made it, so everyone around the balkans say that its theirs but the writer is unknown so can we all stop saying that its your countries song when in reality no one knows who made it, just listen to the masterpiece the way you like.

AMAZINGLY BRILLIANT. This song speaks to me, Just close your eyes and feel the emotions. It sends shivers down my spine. Such an outstanding song. :-))
Tyler Bates is a composer, he sampled the song as made a score for the film. I'm pretty sure he's not out there claiming he wrote and sang the lyrics. People always looking one reason or another to bitch or whine about something. Like it really adversely affects your life in some way.
Of all the ruins and battlegrounds of old I've visted none touched me in the way Thermopylae did, all that remains is the monument to those who risked their lives for their nation and people thousands of years ago as well as a leader, willing to lay down his own life for his people and the rest of his rival Greeks. Quietly thinking in the shade my mind raced with ideas of what those brave heroes felt, I myself felt pride in my Greek heritage stronger than ever that day. I know that were it not for them I would probably not even exist along with countless others.

So my king died, and my brothers died, barely a year ago. Long I pondered my king's cryptic talk of victory. But time has proven him wise. For from free Greek to free Greek, the word was spread that bold Leonidas and his 300, so far from home, laid down their lives, not just for Sparta, but for all Greece and the promise this country holds! The first 300 was way better than the second one. It mixed action and emotion brilliantly.
Agreed
there's a second one??
