      @Codex_Frog in some of the Karate styles it's reserved for the founding master. In the Japanese Karate Association it's actually possible to become a 10th Dan Shotokan master but it's also nearly impossible at the same time. Some people achieved it, mostly karatekas studying directly under Funakoshi Gichin or under some of his direct disciples.

    From what I could see, I think it is "American" Taekwondo, a federation that combines WTF and ITF, I say it because on the back it does not have the logo of the fundamental tree of Taekwon-Do ITF, the front logo also looks more like a triangle (American Taekwon-Do logo) different from the ITF logo.

      The style is that they kick more in "WTF" TKD. In "ITF" TKD there’s more punching than in "WTF" but it still has more kicking priority in both Korean arts. In Japanese Karate There’s a bit more punching rather than kicking possibly equal amount of both.
      My guess would be that Japanese karate has 50/50 of punching/kicking. In Korean art of taekwondo "WTF" has 10/90 but “ITF” 40/60..
      Also, notice the Korean style has a bit more bounce in there. While karate is more stationary with even slight bouncing.

    As you can see from the helmet the tkd guy is using, he is either a young person, has not sparred a lot, or is a new black belt. The helmet with the plastic protector at the front is mostly used by people under 15, and most over that start using mouthpieces and headgear with no face shield. Still tho, respect for both of them, no matter who won or lost🔥🔥🔥

  • @franciscogonzalezramirez5033

    Although ITF TKD is more solid than WTF, they still lower their hands and trust too much in their high kicks. Also ITF TKD tries a lot of unsuccessful actions and their punching seems desperate, flinging arms in a desperate way. Shotokan is a lot sharper than ITF TKD, but they tend to lack in continuity as they fight since they usually stop after a point is scored.

    • @Liquidcadmus
      @Liquidcadmus Před 6 lety +3

      your analysis is completely wrong and ignorant.
      it depends on the fighter and not the style. some shotokan guys have VERY low guards. and most ITF guys keep their hands up.
      the ITF guy in this video is simply not good. most Taekwon-Do in USA is awful.

    • @zakzac1
      @zakzac1 Před 6 lety

      Francisco González Ramírez it's time to do homework. Of the 12 creators of the KTA, 2 were black belts in shotokan, one 2nd the other 4th. And the reason everyone is getting all taekwon-do's mixed up is because of the splinter groups, each person claims their tkd is the real one, which in a way they all are, just some better organized than others.
      A couple guys tried to unite Korea through martial arts. South Korea deported one for a fact, and erased his name from their books. General Choi Hong Hi, being the one I know a little more about since he's who I myself am a descendant of as far as one of my belts. And I used to be real defensive of ITF but due to all the confusion and disorganization regarding some groups and a boat load of research I'm finding out that just like the Chinese, Koreans tend to exaggerate or twist stories to make themselves seem better. Almost a mythical hero in a sense.
      And as far as dropping the hands that's generally a WTF thing. In my dojang if you drop your hands you will be hit in the face, and if you raise your hands too high you are going to take it to the rib. All arts should avoid being closed minded, all arts highly depend on the student themselves. I only found out after a decade that I prefer grappling over striking, but I know some grapples who wish they started with a striking art. Different body types are obviously going to be better used in different arts. And the better a fighter the more varied they tend to be. Thus MMA (which original tkd is a mixed art, the founders had diverse documented backgrounds.)

    The TKD guy is NOT an ITF person. Also, he keeps letting the karate guy come in on him. Why???!!! It also looks like he cannot kick. He only kicks AFTER the other gut kicks. He never initiates. He does not use kicks to dominate the action and maintain distance. A good lead leg side kick would help him immensely.
