Stopped after Cold War. Won’t return unless SBMM is removed (which will probably be never) I do get the itch every year of buying the latest COD but must tell myself no! Everything is just a reskinned MW2019 😂
MW2 Ranked was very rigged, but not for this reason, Anytime I would take a break for a few days it would give me really easy lobbies. But when I grinded out everyday I could never go on a winstreak. When I would get on after a few days it would give me the best teammates and the worst enemies because it was wanting me to play more
Yep that was decade old public algorithms based on keep up player retention. Ironically still used by most mobile games (basically give the bad/inconsistently logging in players = better stuff, matches, etc). Give the consistent players garbage because they’re already addicted grinding and will keep coming back anyways.
This has been happening in Apex for years. I start off at bronze already fighting master rank caliber 3 stacks. While my two randys are legitimately low ranked players that I'm supposed to carry... It only gets worse from there.
its called the big brother system, say youre a good player the game says youre worth 6 points and a team can only have at most 10 points alltogether your random teamates will be 2s. the game gives good players bad teamates
I stopped playing ranked after about 15 games because of this. I knew immediately that the people I was playing were not bronze level players. They had the aim and IQ of diamond plus players. Their movement was cracked out too. Soon as we lost, I said to my group "yeah, there's no way these are bronze players". I literally just nuked a lobby the other day and you're telling me I'm getting dumpstered by bronze players? Yeah right. They can tell that BS to somebody else.
Not to defend them but people need time to play to rank out the low ranks. It was the same on mw2 for the first few weeks so I just waited 2 weeks then ran through bronze silver gold until I started hitting 3 and 4 stacks who knew how to play game
I promoted to gold with my friends last night, then the nightmare started, we kept losing 5 games and every opponent team was like all the streamers showing how to win every single RP game. Their aiming, pre-firing, gun fight….
@@AlwaysEwok I didn't start playing it as soon as ranked came out because I knew it would take time for players for filter into their ranks. This was after atleast a week of ranked being out over multiple days. The ranks do not feel like they should. The players within them are clearly better than their rank would suggest.
This is common. Basically keep you on a 50/50 win/ loss record. If you win 5 games you will lose 5 games. Every streak you going on, will be followed by a losing streak with the same amount of
Yes it’s regular in public matches but in a ranked playlist it shouldn’t work like that until you’ve hit the rank corresponding to your individual skill level. If you’re a diamond level player in bronze you should be on a mad dash through the ranks with an 80-90% win ratio, not 50/50. When you’re in the rank that matches your skill level you would naturally hover around the 50/50 win loss ratio without needing mmr to interfere because that’s literally what the rank is for.
@@christianchilders8969Incorrect mate if you had listened to the video it explains clearly that you are to be suited with players of what rank you are destined to become. So if the game determines you to be a crimson player then you will play people who are determined to be within that pool of crim/iri or even top250 despite yourself on being in bronze to begin with. If you haven’t experienced that then you are one of the bots this guy has used to showcase the hard evidence😂😂😂
Apex was plagued with this similar system two seasons ago. Pushed me right away from it. Perfect example of doing plenty for little reward is how its ranked is. That and the hidden metric system they use to put you in matches where they are rigged also. You can be q silver playing against diamonds and masters if you do too good one match. Beats the whole point of ranked honestly.
@@lukadoncicDevinFather thats how it works in apex bro wake up, they changed that 2 seasons ago. You get q based on ur hidden mmr for rank not ur actual rank lol
I don’t know how or why ea decided that they needed to change the rank system. It literally had zero issues previously. Now every lobby is mixed with different ranks and it defeats the purpose.
You guys having that lag only occurs when shooting if you are on killstreak? Damn I don't even compete enemy in this game, I'm fighting with game itself.
But not this heavy. Rank literally doesn't matter in this game. MMR is usually used to get crazy good players out of a low rank, which is how its done in VAL. The worst and best players shouldn't be in the same rank. Sounds like they just pasted pub settings and added a emblem by the names. Which is once again a way to protect the bad players so they can get the feeling of ranking up also.
@@xxQwikThis is how it's done in a lot of games. The difference is that there is placement games and other factors. For example in both overwatch and in valorant, there is definitely some hidden rank the game thinks you're at, and if it detects you are below that, you will gain more mmr and get out of those lower ranks faster. They don't rely purely on number of games you play to rank up, if you perform well above your rank you will rank up faster, and that doesn't happen in this game.
And they told us when ranked started that match making was more open this season to make sure every found matches. Meaning Every rank will play against each other, unlike the restrictions from last year. They literally told us this.
What piss me off is that some people take what Activision says for granted, a big channel here in Brazil basically dismissed everything other than what they said
Good to see another upload. Been subscribed since 2016 and recently my life has become nothing but work. Seeing your uploads and your old vids bring me back to the simpler times. Hope you're doing well old man 👍
I've been playing ranked with friends and we've been getting worked. I'm talking 2wins 10 losses or 1 wins 5 losses type of nights. I'm definitely the best in my friend group (2.0 kd strictly only play SnD in pubs) versus my other friends are around 1kd (granted they were grinding camos but regardless would be close to 1.1-1.3). I normally only play weekends as I'm in medical school but my friends will play weekday nights as well. They tell me about how they go on winstreaks and how the competition is so much easier when I'm not running ranked with them. But as soon as I play with them on the weekends it's the complete opposite even though I'm still in bronze and they're higher now. It's pretty discouraging and I kind of already gave up on ranked this season.
Last time I was this early, Birdman fans knew who Jarl was. Edit; Regarding this video, it’s AI. Call of duty have implemented AI bots into public and ranked matches 😉
Activision is a shitty company. It's what happens to a company that has become a corporate conglomerate. Look up their patents a cod yt guy put the video up. Just type in "Activision patents for cod matchmaking".
The timing of this video is so funny. I'm a WZ Resurgence player, that's my fun. I had no one on and got bored a few days ago and jumped into solo que ranked. My first game was against nuke skin plats and diamond. They absolutely shit on us and made sure to let us know it. I walked away because I thought it was a pointless endeavor without a skilled squad.
Honestly dude I think it was the same in last year's MWii, It felt identical to my pub sbmm. I would be matched up with mostly golds and silvers off rip as a bronze. I decided to wait because it's probably all mixed up since it just started, and even when I came back once it should be relatively settled, it was the same sweat fest. Even more so golds and silvers at that point. I wanted to beat up on players until I ranked out of it, and just figure out how good of a rank I can get, but when I saw how it was operating it turned me off from even trying . Like I'd be matched up vs all silver and gold teams and be playing with bronze players that have literally played 3 matches in the mode.. what's the point if our ranks don't actually relate to our skill? Because it genuinely isn't related when when a hidden system is picking your opponents.
I’ve played about 200 games in ranked so far. I’ve been playing past irredescants/crimson players the entire time even when I was in bronze. It’s been a huge grind just to get to diamond… and guess what. My win loss is like 110-108. Such a fucking joke. If I’m playing against top players just put me at least in the top rank.
I feel this. My friends are bronze/silver - and we were constantly getting matched up against gold/plat players that were on 3/4/5 win streaks. Definitely something fishy going on.
this game treats bronze and silver like placement matches. when it should just be bronze. or like you said, placement before you even get there, cause all the smurfs, boosting and new cheating accounts are Gold and silver from my experience.
I just hit Crimson 1 today, and I'll say I partially agree with you. In the sense that from Bronze 1 - Plat 3 most of my games were of roughly equal difficulty. I.e. I was getting put up against people of similar MMR all the way up. But, Diamond 1 - Crim 1, games started getting harder and I had to learn parts of the competitive game better to get better. So, I'd say just off my experience and what you're saying that probably for the earlier bands (up to Plat) youve probably got these different MMR games going on. I dont hate it though, because it would make the initial grind whack just smoking people all the way to Plat. Therefore, I highly doubt that in the diamond - iridescent bands, you are very unlikely to have bad kids also in a diamond - iridescent band of their own with whom you'll never match uo against. They're more likely going to struggle getting beyond gold-platinum long term. Think you also have to remember that for the initial few weeks there will be an element of randomness to the matchmaking too at the lower ranks while people get into their respective "real SR" ranks. But I agree partially that some of my initial games from Bronze - Plat were against challenging players, and some even more challenging than the games I had while in Diamond.
Yeppp completely agree, I never touched ranked this season until today and got the sweatiest bronze lobby I've ever had. It was like I was going against plats-diamond, and now I will NEVER touch ranked play on MW3 again just because it's a mood killer. MW2 had a very good system that didn't need to be changed but knowing cod they HAVE to torture there community for something meaningless like ranked.
I have been tracking my wins and losses the last few days. I am 21/21 right now. With a a total SR gain of 209. I’m level 20 plat 3. This is a mix of solo, duo, trio, and 4 stacking. Last year I hit diamond on 3 accounts. All before level 13-15. I have friends that are not good at the game at all (peaked gold/plat last year) who easily made it into platinum this year. It is absurd what they’ve done to ranked play this year.
Siege has the same thing. You’ll be copper but have a hidden mmr of say diamond so you’ll play diamonds from the get go. And then if you take a break for like 6 months it doesn’t even reset so you’ll just get shit on
Facts, I’ll get shit on and notice I’m playing diamonds or champs . Then my friends will be like “ bro your just washed “ but they don’t understand when I tell them I’m not playing in the same lobbies as them
Honestly where most people go wrong is queuing into competitive ranked playlists solo. You’re just setting yourself up for failure by doing that. If people really want to be competitive in ranked playlists you are not going to achieve that by playing solo. Use your mic and make some friends while you’re playing and you’ll have an infinitely better experience guaranteed
Me and my boys went on a 17-0 streak went from bronze 3 to silver 2 basically, we had a theory that they were feeding us terrible players and tryna boost our SR to get us to the rank we’re supposed to be in. And 17-0 streak sounds crazy and we’re not even that nice at tops we’re high gold low plat players at the end of a season usually
I'll be honest bro they have this hidden MMR thing in literally every competitive shooter. They usually do this to prevent smurfs from taking advantage of the lower elos and to be placed in their deserved rank quickly without ruining other people's experience. Essentially what happens is they put you up against higher skilled opponents with similar hidden elo to you but since your hidden elo is super high for the lower rank, you usually get more rank points for winning too so you can quickly rank up to the rank you do deserve to be in. This also stops people from intentionally throwing to stay in lower ranks to get easier games shitting on the noobs.
5:27 That is my rocket league experience (Don't play CoD anymore) if I solo queue 2's i'm playing against Grand Champ/SSL players, and i'm only champ 2 (You could argue i'm in a fake rank but I have never reached grand champ but would beat GC's before it went F2P). Obviously these players are in Champ 2, but they have their GC/SSL banners or titles on display showing that they really are a better player than the matchmaking puts in. That is based on my account being a 2015 acc. I have tested smurf accounts to experiment and depending on my score after a couple games it doesn't give me more MMR for my individual score but it very quickly establishes that I shouldn't be lower than Diamond. Love gaming competitively, but there are times where I wanna chill and not have to explode my eye balls and head veins just to make 1 play or get a half decent score.
This explains last year in mw2 i played my first ranked game just to try it out and i had diamonds in my lobby, and a dude on my team asked me how i was in that lobby, let alone holding my own. Hidden mmr is annoying in all games
Its called engagement based matchmaking. Riot and League of legends have been accused of having it and even soft admitted to having it, Overwatch has it, in fact alot of games use this system. Its designed to force wins and losses and to slow your progression. They dont want you starting at your appropriate rank because you might quit soon after reaching peak and they dont want you win streaking to peak either. They want you playing and grinding away at 50% win rate. They care about engagement, aka you logging on everyday. This isnt even close to a controversy because its not new at all. Many, many games have been accused of this
OH MY GOSH MY COMMENT ON THIS VIDEO WAS ABOUT THIS! I had absolutely no clue that this even had a name I was just throwing out my personal experience that when I take a break for a few days my lobbies are easier
Did you show the scoreboards of the bot lobbies that you were getting in? I didn't notice if you did. I think that would be very telling because we could see how everyone was performing and specifically how was the guy that you were partied up with doing in there.
Nah man I was doing like 3/30 exactly like the dude was saying. I remember looking at chat and my overall score after like 3 games was like 8/57 or something 😂 once i turned on aim assist I was actually getting kills and birdman said you turned on aim assist and now you got more kills than u have in the past 4 hours, cause we were playing a couple 8’s before ranked too.
@@TheGodNC how were you doing in the ranked lobbies you played with birdman. Is what I'm saying. Not the 8s. The matches he was showing vs the "true silvers"
@@midnightdt first game I did 10/12 bottom leaderboard, second game 7/7, 3rd 3/6, 4th 6/16, 5th 2/7, (I turn on aim assist here), 6th 19/21, 14/23, 12/33. As the night went on we went against harder people cause it was like 6 in the morning and only sweats are playing I guess. Ranked kd is .58
I was diamond in MWII, and I cannot win a single game in MWIII. Stuck at Bronze 1. 10 games, all L's. Bottom of the leader board, only M&K Player in the lobby. The hidden MMR system and strong af aim assist make it completely unplayable for PC M&K Players. At least in Bronze to Diamond MWII, I could compete but Diamond -> Top 250 only use controller. I'm tired of this game's shitty SBMM and SBMM in casual.
Something always felt way off for ranked. I usually dominate in most of my pub games. In bronze lobbies I’m getting crushed almost every game. I would bet a pretty penny that bronze lobbies are not harder than 99% of my pub lobbies.
Me and my friend who play together have suspicions on this considering the amount of games we play and the amount of wins and losses we have. The first few games, not even of ranked, it starts off well before suddenly a few more games later, we're suffering like Hell from either these sweats or people using cheap guns and corner camping and our guns just not being able to kill or hit the target. We played ranked (because we wanted the ranked skins) and first few games, it went fine. Then it all went to Hell in sub base when we faced a stack who knew exploits to win the match, then the next few games is just MCW Hell. 2-3 losses and a win is usually how it went and then my friend stop when he got his goal. I played by myself, 1 loss and got the 2 wins I needed out of the most easiest matches of my life. There's some fucking inconsistency going on here.
@DisobeyZOG In Sub Base hardpoint for Ranked, me and a friend of mine and 2 randoms tried to cap a hard point, no enemies in sight at all and yet the point is still contested despite no enemy is seen at all. After that game, me and my friend experiment in private match and figured out that for whatever reason, there are spots where you can cap the hardpoint and not get seen at all. We've come to the conclusion that this is how they capped and won the games considering we never saw them near the hardpoints at all.
honestly I think its because most people get worn out quick. if you play without breaks you will lose your power little by little. wheres other players might be warmed tf up for their match against you.
@user-um4yf1zd2d I forgot to mention that the opposite also happens where first few starting games of MP and it's already gone to shit. Me and my friend continue playing in hopes of actually getting decent games and it just suddenly appears after a few more games. This game is on some shit I swear. I'm not disregarding your claims as that is also a thing that we have experienced, but there's something in the game that in turn is making the games for me and my friends a total living Hell.
Never understood why people wanna play "bot" level players in pubs and just destroy every game. Then complain about how they don't like getting destroyed by better people.. The thing is, no one likes getting destroyed into oblivion, even the "bot" level players... Also this game has a trust factor. It uses your stats from games to determine your experience. You face good people because your stats from your previous matches were really good so you get placed in a game it expects you to lose, but if you win you go again. If you lose, you go to a game you're expected to win etc. That's the basic gist of it. It doesn't entirely use K/D. It's based off damage, accuracy, and many other things. If you have a really high accuracy and HS% you're not gonna play against people who can't aim. That won't be fair. The lobbies are different at the same ranks because of this. The game knows how you play and can predict how you'll play in certain lobbies based on previous matches (proving the algorithm wrong changes the difficulty, as it should, i.e; winning when predicted to lose and losing when predicted to win). You're also meant to put in effort, it wont put you in a lobby where you have 0% chance of winning nor a 100% chance of winning. The game isn't good or bad at finding a middle ground when queued with lower rank "casual" playstyle friends, you can fry, but still lose. Get 0 kills and still win. Your rank in ranked play is just a symbol of your W/L. You don't win the CDL championship by going 100-0. You win by winning games. The 'bot' level players in ranked are playing other people in their skill bracket just like them, all because they don't know the best gun or attachments and aren't slide-cancel-jump-shooting around corners doesn't mean they're not playing to their best ability and don't deserve to rank up on a win. A win is a win no matter the skill level.
Your rank should be a symbol of your skill, if you can’t slide cancel or know what your suppose to run for attachments/ make an effort to have the right class you shouldn’t be able to hit gold atleast.
@@LongJonYT When I said ranked play rank is only a symbol of W/L I don't want to mean it in the literal sense, you do need to be somewhat good to win. The game is just putting you in lobbies with people of similar playstyles to you for competitive balance. The people who can't really shoot their guns yet are probably trying just as hard to win a game as you are playing against people that know how to play, even if they're not trying, they're in those lobbies for a reason. If rank was only a symbol of skill you would have majority of people reach a certain point and stop ranking up or not rank up at all. But the game is designed for everyone to rank up and progress. Not to keep you down until you put countless hours in trying to get better, normal people (like upwards of 70%-80% of people who play this game) with lives don't have that time, it's designed to be a casual and fun FPS game. Yes, it can be competitive and it is very much so for the people that play it that way. Every lobby filled with people of similar playstyles and skill could be considered a competitive lobby. Slide cancelling is not a necessary mechanic needed to improve at the game. There is no right or special attachments you're "suppose"' to run. The attachments ran on a gun are based on preference, everyone runs the same attachments because its makes using the guns easier.
@@Seculxr the people who are better will climb the ranks faster then those who aren’t, trying isn’t a factor. No one is purposefully throwing gunfights or purposely going in dumb spots, they just don’t have the game knowledge. You gain that knowledge by playing, no reason a person who doesn’t know how to play should be the same rank as someone who does. This is the only game I can think of that you can’t trust the rank that person is and it actually be there skill level. Valorant you know what your getting from iron-radiant I don’t think people should be babied to keep playing they either wanna get better or don’t if it’s the latter go back to pubs. You get better by losing, getting into gunfights with better players. Started at a .3 k/d in ghosts and grinded 8’s/GB’s/ and cdl rule game mode(ghost/mw2019 didn’t have ranked where SBMM makes sense) to get my mechanics and shot to where it is.
this isn’t me complaining about being hard stuck, I’m plat 3 and went on 3 5 streaks and a 10 streak yesterday. I just don’t think I should be playing strictly last year iridescent players my whole grind
@@LongJonYT If the people who are better climb the ranks faster then what's the issue? For people who want to improve they most likely are playing ranked, I have many friends and see many people talk about how they could care less about the game mode, never touched it, and don't plan on it. If people want to improve they will figure it out. Saying you have people who don't know how to play the game in really high ranks just doesn't make sense and isn't likely, nor have we seen people play against these 'bot' players in any rank past gold. I don't think people are getting babied, some people are just not naturally good at the game, but still want to have fun, and l know a few low level players that like to play ranked just simply for the fact its about teamplay and winning. And chances are you're playing those people because the game thinks you can compete, clearly you're winning games and not everyone starts playing at the same time, they're probably just climbing back up the latter and you're a step they have to go through, they have to make they're way up like everyone else. And if you're playing people who are better than you isn't that what you said you want to improve on your game? And isn't that ideal for any person that wants to improve? When you start getting better the game sees it and adjusts. Maybe I'm not fully understanding, do people want to play easier lobbies when they first start out in ranked play to rank up faster and easier to a level they think they belong in and can compete at? Or wouldn't it make sense for the game to be like: "hey, this person is just starting to play ranked and is a bronze but their skill level and stats are that of the average iridescent player, lets match him with other starting players of the same skill level". I mean reaching a high rank and having to fight for it all the way would be more satisfying and rewarding for someone who is trying to get better, than it would be to get top 250 with your eyes closed, not learning anything or getting any better along the way. Whatever rank you reach is the rank you earned. Some people think they're good but aren't consistent enough to compete, granted everyone has a bad day, but to progress and get better you need to be able to play at a consistent level all the time and be able to know when you reached a plateau and what's causing it.
new hidden MMR mechanics have ruined FPS for me and I've been playing FPS for over 20 years online.. it's not like the old days where getting destroyed felt like a lot of pressure to get better and you DO get better, now getting destroyed just feels like the MMR system needs a break so it will put me in a match with better team mates (because I only solo queue, I'm too old for clans) - MMR effectively skill caps the players at some mid level skill because you'll never have the chance to establish a presence with other players, find comrades, form a clan, all within the game, which is exactly how it worked before 2010. Without dedicated servers in place you're skill capped by the MMR system keeping you from winning a 1 vs 5 after you win 2-3 matches, effectively making it both predictable and "randomized"
Thank you for making this video because I knew something like this was happening and now that you explained it and show proved now I fully understand what's going on. Wow, but I can't say I'm not surprised, but thank you again for showing this video. Now I fully understand what's going on. sometimes I will see people in crimson diamond and platinum and I see them the way they play and they are horrible and I used to ask myself how the heck they got to crimson diamond or platinum, and right now I'm struggling to even get out of silver, I'm at Silver three but I go up and down because I played mostly against sweaty players, for example, I was watching the pro player Pred and he had on his team a crimson player and he ended up going 9-35 at that moment I was asking myself how the heck did he make it to crimson, In the video that I saw today now it makes sense to me. Thank you again man good video
i've never tired rank before this year so i decided to try it after a few days of it coming out thinking that most of the rank veterans would move up by the time i start playing. and even a week later i was playing sweats at bronze, i was expecting bots to start but i constantly find hard lobbies with gold rank players, slide canceling , drop shotting bunny hopping and all of it . and it seems like i lose 3 times before i get a win . lucky 1 win will give me more points than a loss. and i figured its a the more you play the higher your rank is and that i just didnt wait long enough before i started. i didnt think this kind of lobby you are showing existed. holy shit batman i mean birdman.
This was in COD at the end of last year too. I only played the last season of ranked on MW2, made it to Gold 2 and never saw another gold lobby again, my lobbies were only diamonds and crimsons with an occasional platinum mixed in. Never even got to plat because of that
It’s pretty much the same in Overwatch: You can be a grandmaster hidden MMR player but you don’t play comp enough and your visible MMR is Diamond. It’ll match you with the hidden MMR in mind more than your visible one.
Truth be told, I HATE BEING AWARE to the matchmaking system. I’d say it’s even a majority of the time where I’m realizing as I load into a ranked match that I’m either about to lose or have a slight chance of winning
This is true af, other day my girl wanted to play ranked with me, we usually just play pubs together. I was trying to explain she was gonna get shit on bc she’s below avg at the game. She’s a bronze 2, I’m gold 3. But the other golds i play, be so cracked and sweaty, and I’m a way above average player. I let her host we were playing other golds and they were the worst mfs i ever played against in ranked. I dropped 50 kills in a hard point. First time ever dropping 50 in ranked. We played ranked together for about 5 games and i constantly dropped about 40-50 kills a game. Like it’s no way these are the same golds and platinums i play against on the daily basis. It’s def SBMM in ranked. And now im wondering is my girl below avg at the game, or am i just always playing above avg people bc SBMM lmaoo
No one wants to say it, but this is Siege right now and has been since ranked 2.0. Hidden MMR is the dumbest concept imaginable. You have your rank that means fuck all then you have your “hidden rank” which actually determines who you get matched against. That’s the reason nobody has made it to champion for the first time without 250+ matches that season. It’s whoever plays more gets a higher rank and it’s fucking r3t4rded
Ive played ranked in mw2 and when i got to gold 3 my bullets started not registering causing so many hitmarkers and i could never get to platinum now im having the same issue in mw3 im starting to think the system has me locked in gold for no reason
Man I was stuck at Bronze and Gold for a while, just because of this. My friend is now Gold 1, and I'm Diamond 1. When I played solo and were Gold, I had to sweat against last season iredescent people, but when I played with him, the enemys were actually Gold players, who had MAYBE been platinum last season. Now things even up most of the times, but still sometimes I have to sweat while the players on my team does not know what they are doing...
Ranked was out for like 14 days before they reset your rank down a division i got to silver in 50 games only 12 losses and i have a freind that doesn't have a job and he got to Dimond with 150 losses out of 260 games before the ranks got reset for se2. The ranked system is using a ladder system witch is only good for 1v1 type games like starcraft and chess. If the game let you play 10 games then gives you a rank would make the ranked mode actually matter
For a week me and who I play with every game we got into had a very obvious cheater. None of us have hacked ever on cod besides bo2. When we went to the ban appeal website it said we were all in limited matchmaking. No reason besides telling us we were. This made us completely stop playing. We couldn’t find a warzone match it would search for eternity, ranked wouldn’t find a match either only multiplayer and zombies were functional. About 3 days ago we started getting into non cheater lobbies and the ban page no longer says that. It’s very weird and I have never seen a game be so bad, destroy matchmaking while also making the players hate it while still being successful.
From time to time I get the same issue in MW2, I'd join a match and my entire team is just completely trash, some of these guys ending the match with low single digit kills and high double digit deaths meanwhile the opposing team is just killing it, completely insane
It’s a bandaid fix for the real issue, which is the skill ceiling, cod has been out for decades, people who sweat on ranked all populate the top ranks and it doesn’t have the bell curve they want. This happened in infinite when the first season happened
The thing is that lower hidden Elo guys have to win way more games because they get way less sr per win than if you are in the high hidden tier where you will get way more sr if you do actually win. Those guys that aren’t really that good are always gonna peak in diamond or plat. If you are actually tough you will get out of bronze and silver fast
i was iri in multiple seasons in mw2 and have been playing cod for a long time. Currently a level 6 gold 2 havent played much since it dropped but Im getting close to 200 SR for every win. peoples level and amount of games played seems to have more of an impact on your matchmaking and SR you earn then rank.
My first game (I was bronze 1 level 1) I got queued against 2 crimson and 2 diamond. My team had 1 gold and 2 plats... This is the WORST matchmaking I have ever seen... gonna try again next month and see if something changes
Man this is sad, I used to be a COD regular, I played up until BO3 and lost all interest when they implemented SBMM which single handily ruined the game going forward. Now your just teamed up with only sweats who act as if the game has their life depending on it, you cant play casually anymore even in non ranked games. No longer are the days where you can just hop on after a long ass hard day at work and destroy some noobs, I feel sorry for anyone who never got to experience the beauty of the MW2, BO1, BO2, MW3 era.
Played a lot of ranked last year solo queued up to diamond. Thought I’d give it a shot this year played about ten games realized the game itself is fun but something with the matchmaking is so far off. Rather just go and play something else
The thing that really did it for me was when I tried to play with my boy. We were both in gold, however, it wouldn’t let us play together because I get a message in the party that said I exceed the skill restriction. So even though where were both in gold, we still couldn’t play together. Game is 100% rigged and makes me not want to play ranked anymore.
Dude it was hard for me to get out of silver, Im getting through gold slowly but holy man getting to Plat seems almost impossible. I got Diamond last year on MW2 but I can barely manage to get Plat this year. Im not by any means in the top 5% or even 10%, but I feel I should be better than this.
This did actually happen last year with how you gained SR. It was addressed by a dev. I'm guessing it got cranked up or they are accounting for the previous game rank to get a leg up on the hidden rank so that's why the lower tier is sweatier than last year.
In MWII ranked play it was difficult, but I managed to rank up fully to Rank 50 but I only stayed at Crimson.. On MWIII however Im stuck at Gold 3 at rank 16 and struggling to reach Platinum.. My mind is blown to how strict SBMM is even in ranked play. I get 50 sr for doing super well and when I lose any sr it tends to be 27
I got back to cod and play with some friends, it’s crazy to feel the difference in enemies when I’m playing alone vs playing with a friend. When I play alone, I can legitimately solo win the game. When my friend hosts the lobby, I’m barely ever on top of the leaderboard. But according to the ranking system, we’re the same rank. What is the point of ranked anymore?
I'm above average. Got in a lobby at Bronze 3, where ALL my teammates where BOTS, like literally bots. Just moving forward, shoting, stopping. going backwards, jumping. ALL 3 of my teammates did this. I had no chance of winning meeting 4 legit players. Absolute trash game. Early on had winstreaks, then just lost every f-ing match. Went from Bronze 3 down to 2. JUST because all my teammates was super trash. Like, they had just picked up the game and thinking playing Ranked is a smart idea. I'm thinking about quitting this game for good.
My uncle isn’t very good at cod (no hate on him, he’s got a job and a family to worry about). Conversely I’m pretty good at the game with a few thousand hours across the COD franchise. We used to play ranked together all the time and we were the same rank. The same rank yet if I solo Q I get opponents that are way harder than they are when I play with him. On the contrary when he plays without me he gets opponents that are way easier. Also the ranks don’t seem to mean much a lot of the time. It’s a regular occurrence to come across plats and diamonds that have no business being in any rank past bronze. It’s also pretty normal to come across bronze 1 players that should be in plat at least, although it’s hard to tell if they’re smurfs or just haven’t played the game long enough. I watched a video proving that ranked is rigged a few weeks ago and I haven’t played the game since. There’s no point in grinding for a higher rank when that rank doesn’t actually indicate skill level.
It’s been like this since last year there’s a hidden skill rating which controls how much sr you get if you suck your hidden skill rating will reduce the amount of sr you get per win so there aren’t fake iridescents but you get punished if you don’t get a lot of points
I swear this is what happened to me. A friend of mine queued with me recently and I swear bro went from getting red streaks on his own (not even knowing callouts or rotates) to bottom fragging in my lobbies. He's currently a pretty higher rank than me, it's not even funny.
They do this in nearly every ranked game though. It's the same in Apex, League, The Finals. etc. When you perform exceptionally well in your rank, you'll meet other players who perform exceptionally well in that rank. Often called "Smurf queues". Hell in some games you literally just skip the "players who play exceptionally well in your rank" to just facing higher ranked players entirely, which is why In The Finals I queue against Diamonds when my rank "on paper" is silver.
My understanding is that As the ranks play out you will eventually settle into the rank you belong. The hidden MMR is to help get you where you belong quicker. Why when you are a good player you get 100+ SR in wins vs I play with buddies and they get like 30 SR per win
Every time I get close to Gold I, I lose 1-2 matches and then proceed to get pushed back. Then I win 1-2 matches just for the same BULLSHIT to happen again!!!! Update: I FINALLY GOT GOLD!!11!1
Warzone ranked most likely has the same thing, currently season 3, I’ve made it to plat 3 really easily but all of a sudden EVERY match there’s an iridescent. Every now and again I get a former top 250, its made even thinking of getting to diamond a pain
I agree this is a problem but this absolutely existed in last years version of the game too. Idk if it was early on because I honestly wasn’t good enough to know, but by the end it was really bad. I had 3 accounts, my main and two Smurfs. My main account I only ever sweat on, and by the end I was hard stuck diamond, playing someone in iridescent every game, often 4 stacks. Even got matched into a couple top 250 lobbies in diamond, so I couldn’t go anywhere. On my TWO DIFFERENT SMURFS! I would fuck around a lot, play with my friends while drinking and whatnot, and play a lot of solo que games without aim assist (on ps5) to practice, often using a sniper and whatnot. These accounts obviously ended up with a much lower hidden rating, and on these accounts, I would have to put in a significant amount of effort to keep them out of diamond with no aim assist games. Same person, 3 different accounts, 1 was difficult to keep in diamond 1, 2 were difficult to keep out of diamond 1. It’s just a different game depending on your hidden rating at it was by the end of last year too
I quit cod this past year. I encourage everyone else who stresses about this game to do the same. It's life changing.

Beats the whole point of ranked honestly.

bro ive felt this so hard man its straight up impossible to go on a win streak and rank up fast and at this point you have to 4 stack to play well
Hidden MMR in a ranked game mode is super common
But not this heavy. Rank literally doesn't matter in this game. MMR is usually used to get crazy good players out of a low rank, which is how its done in VAL. The worst and best players shouldn't be in the same rank. Sounds like they just pasted pub settings and added a emblem by the names. Which is once again a way to protect the bad players so they can get the feeling of ranking up also.
@@xxQwikexactly what apex legends does it’s ridiculous, playing max rank players while I’m in silver

If I’m playing against top players just put me at least in the top rank.
they want everyone to "experience the climb" it's crazy
I feel this. My friends are bronze/silver - and we were constantly getting matched up against gold/plat players that were on 3/4/5 win streaks. Definitely something fishy going on.
I feel like just simply having placement matches would fix this for the most part
this game treats bronze and silver like placement matches. when it should just be bronze. or like you said, placement before you even get there, cause all the smurfs, boosting and new cheating accounts are Gold and silver from my experience.
acog sight on an smg is insane lol. I've never seen people stray away from the meta in general when I play ranked
I was fighting for my life to get out of bronze, turned off cross play and ranked up in no time. Night and day difference.
Treyarc came out last year and mentioned a hidden SR. This was never a secret.

That’s all cool but it’s hard to win when my teammates are handicapped.

Sounds like a skill issue to me.
Please elaborate on the “exploits” you have faced in ranked this year ?
Valorant you know what your getting from iron-radiant
I don’t think people should be babied to keep playing they either wanna get better or don’t if it’s the latter go back to pubs.
Without dedicated servers in place you're skill capped by the MMR system keeping you from winning a 1 vs 5 after you win 2-3 matches, effectively making it both predictable and "randomized"
this. everyone that says stop complaining, just get better -you don't get better playing people the same as you over and over
Thank you for making this video because I knew something like this was happening and now that you explained it and show proved now I fully understand what's going on.
It's over. Time to finally move on to Cod Mobile
i've never tired rank before this year so i decided to try it after a few days of it coming out thinking that most of the rank veterans would move up by the time i start playing. and even a week later i was playing sweats at bronze, i was expecting bots to start but i constantly find hard lobbies with gold rank players, slide canceling , drop shotting bunny hopping and all of it . and it seems like i lose 3 times before i get a win . lucky 1 win will give me more points than a loss. and i figured its a the more you play the higher your rank is and that i just didnt wait long enough before i started. i didnt think this kind of lobby you are showing existed. holy shit batman i mean birdman.
Bro said the same thing in different ways for 20 mins but the gameplay was craazy😂
Ive played ranked in mw2 and when i got to gold 3 my bullets started not registering causing so many hitmarkers and i could never get to platinum now im having the same issue in mw3 im starting to think the system has me locked in gold for no reason
dont forget the random ranked bans and mmr deductions claiming you left a match even if you didn't
what rank were you able to get to solo Q, im just curious ?
I tried a bot hosting, got the same losers that haven’t seen their family in 3 months
Played my first match of ranked a few days ago. Terminal HP & the other players were gold with MWII Crimson/ Iridescent skins
Literally just got off. Ran 3 games with teammates going 10-26, 12-30 (Diamonds btw) meanwhile the other team is dropping 30s and 40s
imagine if everyone quit playing their games.
If you are actually tough you will get out of bronze and silver fast
yeah they do it in rainbow as well. it's so annoying when you see high ranked players have no clue what they are doing...
i was iri in multiple seasons in mw2 and have been playing cod for a long time.
It matching you to similar 'skilled' players rather than similar rank, especially since you haven't played before (MW3 ranked) :)
I get 50 sr for doing super well and when I lose any sr it tends to be 27
I swear R6 is like this. I was gold 2 carrying champions and emeralds like aint no way im not even plat matched up against those guys
"The game was rigged from the start,"
-Benny
I swear this is what happened to me. A friend of mine queued with me recently and I swear bro went from getting red streaks on his own (not even knowing callouts or rotates) to bottom fragging in my lobbies. He's currently a pretty higher rank than me, it's not even funny.
7:46 Birdman sounding both like a preteen and an old english guy
Holy fuck thank you! I've been freaking out because there ain't no way in hell that bronze 1 should be this sweaty and communicating this much.
I totally agree with you. The background matchmaking is messed up. I have never been in any lobby like in this video.
My understanding is that As the ranks play out you will eventually settle into the rank you belong. The hidden MMR is to help get you where you belong quicker. Why when you are a good player you get 100+ SR in wins vs I play with buddies and they get like 30 SR per win
cod needs to remove sbmm and crossplay for cod to truly come back
Playing Call of Duty in 2024 is like speeding in a Honda Civic while everyone else passes you in sportscars.
You and MrTlexify are the only strings call of duty content i consume anymore
It’s just a different game depending on your hidden rating at it was by the end of last year too
Your hidden "Elo" or MMR will always exist in ranked. The shit that pisses everyone off is that they lied like it doesnt exist
