One of the baddest Tales from the Crypt episodes, love that ‘57 and Chevelle. Kind of reminds me of the last race in American Graffiti. That John M may have lost if Harrison Ford didn’t blow out his tire.
Warren Zevon did all the music on this episode. "Bad road, Wretched road" is a lost track sadly. Rebel son did a cover of it but still... would have been nice to hear the original.
That really was a great song. I've been exhaustively trying to find it. Is it really "lost," as in, no original recordings anywhere? If so, that's a shame.
Even though Warren Zevon goofed on the cubic inches (no self respecting Chevy man would ever install a 429 Ford in a 57 Chevy), this was definitely the best episode of tales from the Crypt ever!, dig young Brad Pitt before he was famous!
That 57 wasnt all Hollywood it was quite stout. And to quote Clint Eastwood in Gran Torino "Did you ever come across anybody you really shouldntve @#$%ed with.He wasnt nicknamed the Iceman for no reason.
My 57 2 door sounded the same, oil and grease only made it go away for a few days. Did a frame off and the shop replaced alot of parts. I missed the sound when it was gone to be honest
Honestly, this and cutting cards are my favourite tales from the crypt episodes They don’t have a lot of spooky or paranormal going on, but they have that theme that is two men that have competition together whether they like it or not truly an embodiment of living in the way we die you play your cards like a man win lose or draw or you die whimpering and I prefer to go out with my boots on win lose or draw
Kinda looking at this show now it kinda reminds me sometimes when you had a stronghold from your past sometimes you have to go back to your past and conquer it so it won't haunt you in the present and future
Oh, you mean that song! It's really cool too, by I had in my mind song Iceman turns on in the car while he rides with sherrif on 5:10. Tried to find it by a lyrics, by couldn't determine words. For me it sounds like "....got a destination as a dead man's land... dead road, wretched road..".
If you guys like that 57 do a CZcams search for 'running on empty' an Australian film with a very similar blown 57 (right hand drive) going up against a blown charger
So cool when pulling out the garage onto to the driveway to the street and gunning that son of a gun of a car down the road , hearing that thing roar wild and free, ha,ha,ha, 😊
That would alway confuse me, the song goes he a 57 Chevy 4 in the floor and 429, didn't think Chevy made a 429 only ford. As I got older I found out ford and Chevy made the big block 429
Billy Troll brad race other guys the ones he beat he put on his arm ice man was an old racer and became a cop the ice man was never beat and brad kid napped his daughter to prove he was the ice man
David Rager he got the Garrett tat before they raced and in his first race the other car crashed so was he killing his opponents, and had they also had other racers die racing them was my question
My guess is probably. The guy he raced in the beginning was older, like a past his prime racer, probably. He was excited when the other guy crashed and possibly died. Pitt's character knew of these guys as legends. He knew of Iceman's past, and called himself his karma. I just wonder if he was human or if he was supposed to be a demon. He kept fkicking his tongue out. He also disappeared quickly when he first met Iceman. When Iceman came to race, he spoke of his car as if he knew of it, or possibly even saw it before that night.
don't take everything so literally.....its just a song.....of course chevy never made a 429.....ford did.....nothing sounds like an all American chevy engine when their built!!....I LOVE EM!
I looked for years for this episode and was so glad when I finally found it. Always loved how the guy stowed his 57 away.
I had always remembered the episode but never figured out what show it was!
@@bbdetailing9123 it was shown on two different programs but tales from the crypt was first
same here

Lol…. That 57 was going to smoke the chevelle no matter what
Reminds me of my 1977 TA bandit dang i wish i wud have kept that car 🚗
I wonder what happened to that 57... would love to know if its still around!
Me too!
1992 the 90's were the best
Good tune. Love that 57!

thank you
‘57 Chevy with a 429 (Ford) in it. Cool, although I’m sure Zevon had no clue what he was singing.
That 57 build was before it’s time.....
Even though Warren Zevon goofed on the cubic inches (no self respecting Chevy man would ever install a 429 Ford in a 57 Chevy), this was definitely the best episode of tales from the Crypt ever!, dig young Brad Pitt before he was famous!
It's because rhymes best 429 than 427
I believe it was a reference to the 429 Cadillac.
Who gives a shit ?
427 Chevy punched out .010 is what he meant haha
that 57 chevy was one nasty machine
Would love to have that car.
I can remember sitting in the living room floor of my grandmas house watching this one
I polished it every six months like clockwork.......
Could you have at least lubed the door hinges?!
It's a 55-56-57 Chevy thing. I sware lol
My 2 door hardtop 57 did it, exact same sound.
Lube the door, and it would stop... for a week
That 57 wasnt all Hollywood it was quite stout. And to quote Clint Eastwood in Gran Torino "Did you ever come across anybody you really shouldntve @#$%ed with.He wasnt nicknamed the Iceman for no reason.
......but I refuse to oil the door hinges EVER
Amen! I got a 55 Chevy with the same squeak!
My 57 2 door sounded the same, oil and grease only made it go away for a few days.
Did a frame off and the shop replaced alot of parts. I missed the sound when it was gone to be honest

57 Chevy badd ass!
You gotta roll with the punches.
I'd rather hear that engine pulling out of hibernation than the music. Same with the race.
That 57 is a bad ride 👍
Thanks
He wasn't named the ice man for no reason...
Sad to see the death of a 69 Chevy
Chevelle is sweet but that 57 is one bad ass ride....
The song is roll with the punches
Im building a model car of this '57 Chevy
I'd love to see it
Nice doing business with you, Tony...

kzhidanov you gotta roll with the punches warren zevon
How clever to put the bulldozer there
lots of hotrodders would mix Ford and Chevy parts and motors around
Guys, guys, yes he said "429", but ONLY so it could ryme with the last word of the next sentence, "LINE"...
If you guys like that 57 do a CZcams search for 'running on empty' an Australian film with a very similar blown 57 (right hand drive) going up against a blown charger
Im looking it up now.Thanks!
Challenger.....
rip cuzin 😔🙏❤ 9/1/21 @1:00
So cool when pulling out the garage onto to the driveway to the street and gunning that son of a gun of a car down the road , hearing that thing roar wild and free, ha,ha,ha, 😊
Some guys get meaner as they get older
Rebel Son: "Bad road, wretched road"
Thank you 😊.
I wonder if that was a caddy 429 they made them in 1964 with 340 horsepower
That 57 had a bigblock Chevy with a tunnelram on it. Probably started as a 454.
You are probably right
He couldn’t see a huge bulldozer and safety gates in the middle of the road? Lmao
That 57 is not injected its blown. The blower is sitting in clear view on the hood.
That's not a blower, just a scoop. What some would call a bird catcher. It just sits on top of the carburetors.
@@cavebandit or fuel injection hat.
Name of the song at 4:38?
Did you learn what is the name of the song ?
Warren zevon - roll with the punches
Trying to find this song for two hours... What's the name of the song is?
roll with the punches. warren zevon
The race scene song?
Roll with the punches
chevy never made a 429, they made a 427 big block chevy. 429 is a ford motor.
+nemodapimpfish ever think the song could be about a 57 that some one put a 429 in? never seen it but you never know.... right?
nemodapimpfish yeah that detail always bugged me about this song.
429 Ford yes
429 Cadillac also yes
Zevon made some awesome music but he also got the "4 on the floor" part wrong too. It is an automatic
Im building a model this '57 Chevy
That would alway confuse me, the song goes he a 57 Chevy 4 in the floor and 429, didn't think Chevy made a 429 only ford. As I got older I found out ford and Chevy made the big block 429
Chevy made a 427.

Was Brad's character a killer of other killers or was Iceman the only other killer he faced
Right son died!

God, I can't sand Brad Pitt!
