I found your chart fascinating. I live in the mid west with the same last and first frost dates. However my Jan temps are much colder and July night temperatures much warmer. This shows how there can be differences in what can be grown even in the same USDA growing zones.
There is such great variance. That is why I made the chart, as each gardener really needs the data for best planning. You example is perferct for that.

Over the last 30+ years I have grown over 400 (mostly heirloom) tomato varieties. Because of your videos and inspiration, I have tried a number of AAS varieties with great results; thanks! Aside from AAS, I found a cherry tomato that is even better than Sungold. It is called Pink Princess and everyone says Wow!! to it. It is so good, that one year (before I started seed sowing), I drove almost 7 hours round trip just to get Pink Princess tomato seedlings. It is that good. I would love to send you some seeds to try. This shows me how different the high altitude southwest desert I’d from so much of the country. This chart shows about a 20 degree difference between day and night temps. We have 30-40 degree difference.
Yeah you have to use the format and plot in your local temps. This is for Maryland by Baltimore.

Hi Gary, really appreciate your videos. I learned a lot from you starting seed last year. For mold growth indoors, you recommend spraying peppermint oil on it. Can I do this at the early stage, before seeds have germinated? I'm wondering if it could affect the seed. I have begonias & snapdragons sown and they all sit on top of the soil (not covered). So wondering if putting that on it could affect germination.
I use hydrogen peroxide now. I a diluted spray works and letting the soil surface dries help.

Gary, have you tried growing seeds under a cold frame or a single/double layer hoop house, just to get the plants ready a little earlier?
I have tested it. It works. But works better going from fall into winter to extend season. In spring my ground is frozen and its just really cold and it takes time to warm the soil for good early growth.

I'm new to gardening, zone 8, can you make a table of when to seed each veg and when to plant in a year. I know it's too much but it's really kinda confusing to me

When you buy seeds in Portugal, did you bring them with you in your luggage ? I was wondering about the airport restrictions .

You can do it by hand. Just copy my column headers. And you search the information on line. Town, State, Average Month Day temperatures as the search. Columbia Maryland Average Day Temperatures in January.

My grow season is very short...about 90 days. Most people hold off until June to plant. Are there any tricks to helping have an early harvest by starting seeds earlier than the recommendation?
Not really. As the ground temps are key. For you it might be building cold frames or low tunnels and heating the spring growing area and using the same things in fall to extend the season.
