I like big bases and cannot lie
Damn man I had the exact same joke lol.
Come for the hobby cheats, stay for the bants
You know, I’m all about that base.
You other nurgles can’t deny
First thing I thought of too.
Great stuff, but you forgot to add the linky to Aquarium Co-op for the super glue.
One more stone is laid in the cathedral that is the Vincey V channel, it shall stand for a thousand years
A new Vince video is my favourite thing about Saturday mornings, second only to sleeping in.
In Australia, they are Saturday night around 10pm. Always a treat when winding down!!!
@@jimmythesound7536 I'm on UTC+0, so they're posted at 11am (noon in the winter). Perfect for a lazy Saturday morning.
I like big base, and I cannot lie.
You battle brothers can't deny.....
Aquarium Co-Op Super Glue Gel transcends hobbies! What a crossover product! 😊👍
I love it!
A good way to join large models to bases that I learned from Jay on Eon’s of battle. Use crayons magic modeling clay. Push the mini’s feet into the clay to create a perfect mold to set it into. Then apply whatever you want to the surrounding putty and decorate as you wish and you’ll be able to seamlessly glue the model into the slot you’ve made
Even without the knight this big base video is a great 'how to make realistic large scatter terrain" tutoirial
I love Huge Miniatures textured paste. I started using their stuff years ago when Gorilla Miniature Games featured them in a small companies video. I have an entire, and ever growing, Dark Mech army based using their Martian paste. Great stuff!
Vince "a healthy amount of mud" Venturella, you are an inspirer!
Absolutely beautiful basing. Thank you for the tips Vince, definitely going to be trying out the Martian Iron Earth technique with my next night project. Looking forward to seeing it finished
i had never heard of huge miniatures bought some tufts and desert texture paste, gotta say big fan now.
Looks great so far & i really enjoy seeing the little base/terrain decorative bits that look fun for larger pieces. Thanks!
Glad you like them!
I love all Vince Ventrulla videos 👏👍🤙
And Professor DM, I presume? 🙂
Just in time, finished assembling and priming my warmaster titan and AdMech combat patrol! Time to make my first custom bases!
This is a great technique for Adeptus Titanicus bases too.
Maybe Vince should play Adeptus Titanicus.
I am very excited to watch you do a project like this from start to finish! You do such a good job of teaching and explaining why and how you do these things to help us understand not only what you are doing, but what you are considering while you do it. Thanks for another great video!
Do you ever plan to show how to do an underwater scenic base?
Something like a lake shore with a bit of clear water showing fish, etc...
I always wondered how to do those larger clear or near clear under water scenes for bases that had fish, creatures, etc at different levels. Cheers, good video.
Absolutely, it will happen! (waves included)
@@VinceVenturella I look forward to learning how to do those. Always wanted to paint an Aquaman underwater scene.
Always nice to see a terrain video from you, sir!
Aww man I don't want to wait for the next video!
Since I'm doing my own Knight soon, I shall journey with you Vince! lol
Looking forward to the follow up videos!
More to come!
ALL YOU BASE ARE BELONG TO VINCE! Lol my old ass still uses kitty litter as a secret basing tool. Clumping kind - it absorbs glue and seals up real nice. Use fresh though!
Actually keen to see the water effects part now. On my "to beat" list for the year, shit scared of screwing it up to this day 😅
Thanks Vince!
Now I have a mental image of Vince in an old Chevy Squarebody sitting on 35" tires boggin' in a dry river bed. Looking forward to the rest of the series. I've been using Golden's fine pumice medium for tying the base textures together but that Mud texture paste looks like it has a little more tooth to it which is nice. Always appreciate the Hobby Cheating videos!
I didn’t know Huge Miniatures was Ohio based, that’s awesome!
Thanks for the tip on how to make crackle paste crackle more! Big fan. Much love ❤
My pleasure 😊
Vincey V looking forward to the next video 🤜🤛
Thumbs up for robit and his nice big base.
Thats insane man, nice job.
Vince V with coffee, noice!
So satisfying to see the base go from a chaotic mess (no pun intended!) to uniform after being primed. Love the idea of using crackle paste for the spots underneath the feet.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I'm really enjoying your videos on bases. I've recently purchased so cork tiles with the intention of adding some verticality to my bases. I'm looking forward to seeing how you achieve the water effects. Thanks for sharing!
Loving this series, Vince! Can't wait to see the painting stage, as well as the knight and river. *getting out popcorn*
Beautiful! The base itself is a work of art. I loved the last reveal of the primed base. It looks like it was sculpted and cast in one piece, the way the elements all blended seamlessly.
Building and painting my sons of behemat ready for aos 4 and said to my partner "maybe I should ask Vince if he plans to do a big base tutorial in his comments". Beat me to it, perfect timing!😁
The "hair" from beasts of nurgle are GREAT sources of tentacle sorts of things for nurgle bases
Badass video VinceyV!
eyy! a vid on basing? cool cool cool.
The tips on how to get big cracks are very helpful for an upcoming project of mine.
Glad it was helpful!
Omg. This is so awesome
Priming does really blend everything together, doesnt it? I'm currently working on the spearhead for stormcasts, and I have decided to go for something akin to sieged city, by those pesky rats, yes yes. Your tutorial on sewer bases helped me to figure out the cobblestone and how to tackle on this predicament i had. Thanks Mr V
Great tips!! Gonna try some of those for sure!
Have fun!
Great stuff Vince! I have a lava river base in my future so looking forward to your future videos, but I would be here for whatever you are doing!
"Live, laugh, love"
"Dance like no one is watching"
"Raise it up to meet the feet"
Great video
Thanks Vince for the win.
thank you for this tutorial ! That will help for my project of chaos knight (that are also nurgle friendly too !)
Glad I could help!
I've been really struggling with crackle. Thank you for the advice on thickness and drying times. I'll start applying it much thicker. :)
Shout-out from Cuyahoga falls , OH ❤️🔥
love these videos! going to check out the glue!!! thank you!!
Glad you like them!
Fantastic video, as always. Cheers, Vince!
After a couple of years of painting, I'm finally starting my Warhammer journey tomorrow! As it's my birthday! 🎉
I'm getting the 40K ultimate starter set, and a combat patrol of Battle Sisters, gonna go Order of the Bloody Rose.
I've watched nearly every video and livestream of yours, but I'll be going back in for your Warhammer specific stuff.
For painting, any tips for Order of the Bloody Rose? Or Battle Sisters in general?
THey are detailed and finicky, but just take your time. I have some videos on those colors, but a good warm zenithal undercoat will serve you well.
Great advice as always.
Well once againg great video.
Great work!
Thanks!
Love it. An you do big diorama base with resin pour please :)
Will do!
Here's a challenge for you, Vinny - Death Guard with a bright, clean, glossy, blingy color scheme!
That mud paste looks like a nice curry paste 😅, BTW good video!
I secretly prefer basing vids to minis
Aquarium co-op super glue! Do you keep fish Vince? On a side not you can use that glue under water. Don't know if you'll ever need that info in your hobby but there it is.
Based!
Was not expecting aquarium coop to pop up in a hobby cheating episode...
Hi Vince, since you always prime the bases after finishing with the texture and stuff, what's the point of colored mud/ground texture paint? Many companies sell different colors and shades of basically the same paste. I usually apply them after painting the base and then do some passes over when they are dry, but maybe I'm missing something
Depends on whether you want to paint everything or not - there are some people like e.g. HighEye Workshop on YT that don't paint terrain and instead use specific products - it will be, in general, faster
I've got several epic scale Titans that need basing. I love what I'm seeing here so far...any tips for doing similar things in a smaller scale?
Everything here scales down pretty well, you just use the little basing stuff that they have that is in scale, the rest of the rocks and all ofthat stuff works regardless of scale, which is great. :)
👍👍
*me literally making my Cerastus knight base as I click on this on this video*
***VINCE IS IN MY WALLS***
Thanks for the video! Im not seeing the link to the glue you mentioned, am I missing it somewhere?
Is this going into your basing playlist?
😊
I’d highly recommend checking out Adams Hobby Stuff’s Nurgle Knights/Titans, he’s made some disgusting big stompy boys!
Hey what was that super glue you liked?
It's from Aquarium Co-op in the US.
@@Finkeldinken cheers
If you're just going to prime over the martian iron earth, would it be better to use some artist colourless crackle paste instead? I actually wanted to try out a mix of crackle paste and some AK interactive concrete texture paste on a base today to see if I could get it to look like a cracked road or something
You certainly can, I always paint over it, but any crackle paste will work for sure.
I dont suppose you have any videos on painting tree (miniatures)? I'm working on a Father's day project and I'd love something i could reference/follow along with
I do, there is a video in the playlist about painting wood texture, a few actually, but they are pretty old, I need to do a new one.
Hey Vince, how does one learn where to place highlights and shades on weird shapes?
I have videos in the playlist about how to place highlights, I would recommend checking those out.
hi Vince, thanks again. How do you prime ? Black then White zenital?
Yep, black then white primer or paint.
@@VinceVenturella brilliant, thanks for confirming. Looking forward to seeing the rest this project. You are teasing us 😅
Vince: Breaking up is not hard to do.
Oh, Nurgle 'is' a house.
Who likes big bases. I like big bases.
B I G
How many models have you done in one year
Hard to say, it's always a lot, but that's just the nature of having a channel as much as anything else. I am sure it varies, but its generally in the hundreds pretty easily.
@@VinceVenturella last year I did 44 to 45 models, (normal job and other obligations take up a lot of time I'm sure you know). I have a goal this year to keep getting better and reach 75 models for the year. Currently I'm sitting at 27 painted and currently working on a commission of the leviathan box set so that should put me pass my goal.
I was curious though, I enjoy these little chats when I feel inspired to reach out and kind of pick at your mind and the videos.
i am in
Well, basically, its all about that base
Honestly i think you'd look really good fully bald.
no links to Huge Miniatures basing paste?
also, the wet pallet link goes to the plastic ones.
