Some tips from my experience a couple days ago. Just use trap launcher to preemptively freeze mobs you know you will aggro so you can just leave pet on dragon for extra damage (just make sure it’s not growling so it doesn’t rip threat). Get a serpent sting up and just refresh with chimera. You can toggle viper when you get max distance to restore mana if needed. Fun solo quest enjoy.
I did a similar strategy except I ran Lone Wolf and no pet since I was Surv Spec and did not have pet movement speed, which I think is necessary for the pet to keep up with the mob while kiting. Trap Launch Freezing Traps onto mobs ahead of you and directly run over that mob, should ensure you don't pull other mobs or even worse 2 mobs trying to split the gap.
One other option is to Trap Launch a slow/ice trap since apparently that cannot resist, and so may be even more reliable than a Freezing Trap or Concussive Shot which can resist/miss.
Also, as a horde on a PVP server I tried to avoid kiting to Loch Modan and instead took the southern path out of the dragon area and kited west, taking the second dragon all the way to Kargath where I turned in the quest. Only thing that really can mess you up is the opposing faction screwing with you during your kite attempt.

Yeah I was BM just 'cause I did this right after hitting 40 and I levelled as BM, without pet outdoor movespeed it'll struggle to keep up with the dragon. Another thing I didn't mention is if you see a mob get close and you predict it will hit you, you can toggle off cheetah quickly, wing clip it, get range and cheetah again. Nifty stopwatch can also be useful. I found it's not too bad at all avoiding mobs though, and if you're carrying people you can get them on mob duty.
As for going west, I'd found there was a lot of alliance actually in badlands, but far fewer in that part of loch, at least at an appropriate level to challenge a 40. Def can just go where the alliance aren't though :)
Was bored the other day and kited him to Iron Forge. At first no one did anything, so I kited him to flight master then back to bank. At that point everyone killed it. Not the most efficient, but fun.

Hunter kiting potential is insane and I'm only just learning about it, I helped nine other people by kiting the dragon while they wailed away and got them killed relatively easy. But each had to be killed twice so everyone could complete the quest. I was very surprised I could hold aggro and kite with ice traps while everyone attacked it.
yeah as the kiting hunter you actually do a lot of damage, especially with chimera shot! Glad you enjoyed the video and good on ya for helping out the lesser classes :D
Don't solo it. Find 4 Warriors and have them kill whelps for you while you kite. Otherwise they will never get the quest done because warriors are useless.
Definitely, I also did it for a pack of rogues 'n warriors from my guild. Farm that IRL rep :D
kiting method always success for any kiting boss or mob, especially if you are doing Rokh'del bow quest
but, in fact and if you are in pvp server.
Once you (or someone, or a hunter) doing it, opposite faction will be the best psyco players. And chasing you untill you die.
Easy kill.
Yeah can get ganked sometimes, I did once when doing it, but it tends not to be too bad for me.
you can take it to thelesmar as well and get help from guards once it fire breaths
yeah solid option for alliance. Can also go kargath for horde but that's a bit more annoying because of mobs/players in the way.

rogues can also kite forever now with poisoned knife rune, it would just take even longer to do
The dragons are immune to all slows/snares/CC unfortunately, so you'd need enough improved movespeed to outrun him. There'll be a bunch of other kites that opens up though!
I cant see any quest on Garek am 40 lvl hunter in sod how is there any quest come Garek ?

It's same for horde and alliance, this was actually done on a horde character
Isnt it easier for horde to pull them to Kargath and let the guards do the job? did that with anathemus and was easily able to run circles too
Possibly on PVE server, but the reason I like to go to loch is twofold:
One, once you're there no mobs give you any grief, you obviously can avoid mobs OK, and trap them or concussive them or pet distract them, but it's just more likely to go wrong and more focus to drag the mob across badlands vs up the small area to loch.
Two, despite getting ganked there, on a PVP server I'd expect to run into a lot more enemy faction going all the way across badlands than just ducking up to loch, then when you're in loch it's only random level 15-20 players there for the most part.
Certainly you can go there though, and it will just make the actual kill phase a bit easier/faster when the guards help you.
Screw this quest and everything about it. I'll just run gnomer without it and get the stupid power depleted chest

Consider carrying a bunch of randoms through it, where you kill the dragon and they kill the enemy faction. Or just go for gnomer drop yeah, they are about same quality and gnomer is pretty easy for most players now I think.

I completed the Mirages! quest and cannot find the next step in the chain. Or a guide that list every step in this quest chain.

Yeah that would go super fast! I like to help out the poor, helpless warriors and rogues though and carry them!
enhancement shaman doesnt scale with aglity? I thought? Like they dont gain attack power >.>
Correct, they only gain crit. The AP comes from Strength
Yeah, they'll get a good amount of crit but very little AP (just from the paltry 3 strength), It'll still be a decent option, but Gelkis Marauder Chain from Khan Hratha is probably a little better.

I was looking for a video like this, im chad hunter but yesterday i spend like 6hours tryin find a decent group, i just did it with 2 groups and rotation both elites for both groups.
Heh, yeah I've seen people in general chat trying to do it "fair" with tanks and healers and lots of random dps. Kiting it is much easier!

Wait, do you seriously not get gear outside of raids? Like, I can understand not getting WSG exalted bracers that takes ages, but this is like 10mins for a piece that's almost as good as tier. In fact, some people even say it's better than the gnomer tier chest.
