I think we should assume that the statues were built with cement by human fingers. Under such an assumption, we just need a few stone samples cut from the statues and taste them with our tongue to identify whether there is salt.

I can say with confidence that 1 characteristic majority of us have is stubborn pride, which has caused much confusion and inter-tribal wars. the knowledge of sea navigation using star constellations, wave motion, weather patterns, temperatures, etc is making its way back to younger generations slowly.
