My Top Most Favorite Pieces by Composers
10th place is The Blue Danube
I think this shows that the only thing we can tell from how many views a piece has had on CZcams is how many views it's had on CZcams.
... and only one one video, most likely, not all videos ( or at least 10 mist popular) for the same piece posted by different channels.
Not wrong
difficult to do otherwise, you have to base the ranking on a common ground
@@Mad9977 That's fine; but it should be labeled accurately; i.e. "most viewed" instead of "greatest".

number 12 and 11(fur elise and turkish march) could also be number 2 and 1 for a lot of people.
I agree with you
It cannot be, since this a list of overall popularity, not preference. Which means it's a list organized by the most viewed classic pieces of all time (of course the majority of those views are from fellow pianists).
Too true
Turkish Rondo (Rondo Alla Turca) not Turkish March. The Turkish March is a totally different piece of music by Beethoven (from the incidental music accompanying the play "The Ruins of Athens")
@@JustLwcas not of all time, but only on yt probably since there is so low views
Shocked that only one Chopin composition is on this list, especially since he took the #1 spot on this list.
Popularity is not a measure of quality.
@@rjlchristie No one is arguing that. But Chopin is top quality as well as popular. I am saying this as a pianist myself.
@@majorsynthqed7374 I agree. But such lists and rankings are absurd, indicative of essentially nothing.

Due to my interest in how popular media manipulates and influences culture.
My favorite is Requim Lacrimosa. Not only is it a wonderful work of art and feast for the ears but Its also a brilliant masterpiece in terns of composition and arrangement.
Bro, check the lacrimosa - apashe

Who is your favorite pianist?
I love this too but I wouldn't say that it was popular.

10 is too much
I want to play mine for senior graduation which is less than 5 years away😧
Ravel: Gaspard de la nuit be like
I hope it doesn't take too long for me! 1 year hopefully
Yay 😂
I think I would have put Edward Grieg's In the Hall Of The Mountain King in there somewhere.
Not to mention Griegs Piano Conserto", Morning song or Holberg suite.
@@sailingviking7885 Excellent pieces both

that and can can
The list is based on view. Not subjective.
I adore Mozart for the incredible ability to be epic and happy and so sad and vulnerable, while also being incredibly catchy and easy to remember but being also very interesting and complex
I suppose if you want to listen to musical mathematics Mozart's the boy. I prefer passion. Beethoven, and of course the ultimate Tchaikovsky, no one can compose music better than a Russian.
@@mordachiapeargut How isn't Mozart passionate? you need to consume some of his works other than piano sonatas and you'll see how deep he goes
I also think that Mozart was the biggest genius of music till this time. Bach is close second.
@@attilahalmai4590 I agree
He was a genius
This list is weird. Just plain weird. Where are:
Spring
Eine kleine nachtmusik
In the hall of the Mountain King
The marriage of Figaro
Wedding march
La donna e mobile
Der hölle rache
Toccata and Fugue
Just to name a few from the top of my head. Each and every one of these will get an 'Ah, I've heard this. Obviously!' from everyone. Unlike many on this list.
My absolute #1 ALL time favorite classical sonata is Canon in D by Pachelbel. What a beautiful piece. Ill always love and cherish it.
Maybe you would like to try Liao violin's two violins version.
And tons of pop/rock songs are based on this !!!

Waay different with mine. At least it should've included Bach's Tocata-Fugue and Tchaikovsky's Sugar Plum Fairy.
I found over 80 million views for Toccata and 69 million for Sugar plum.
Obviously, this vid was made rather sloppily.

i really thought that tocata-fugue was the first one bro
I think Antonio Vivaldi is a bit underrated. He was And still is a musical genius!!
Was past tense = dead : Is present tense = alive: so was only!
The music that God put on our hearts is just beautiful. No words needed just the simple resonance of one note against another.
Sublime
Chopin at the peak. Just like the silent and serene zenith of a stormy mountain. His music stands even above the giants of classical and romantic era. He is the epitome of composing.
Chopin was a genius. His music goes straight to your heart. Great melody, finesse and sounds still contemporary . LOVE it ❤❤❤
Chopin didn't love it. On his death bed friends played the piano near the bed. They tried playing Chopin, and he said: "Not that, give me real music, give me Mozart".
Chopin's music really touches the human soul because he suffered in life, and in his suffering he wrote music of passion and angst. Unlike Mozart who had opulence handed to him on a plate, and was probably poisoned by a jealous husband.
You should put on your bucket list visiting his house where he was born in Zelazowa Wola, Poland. I went there as a kid back in the 1980s. That's something that you will never forget :).
@@ianlowery6014And in this story was dragons?

Vivaldi is one of my favorites masters...his masterpieces are amazing....😊
Repent and trust in Jesus. We all deserve Hell for our sins, such as lying lusting coveting and more. We can't save ourselves, but Jesus can save us. I was so scared that Chopin might not get a single spot once we I got to the top 5, and I was so thrilled that my boi got the 1#
I am just speechless. Those music are so amazing. We are very lucky to hear those legendary composers
I missed Marriage of Figaro Overture but honestly each of these pieces brings tears to my eyes.
True. It should be there.
А я, извините, не понял почему слёзы?
Erik Satie? Many may not know the name but would certainly recognise the compositions? I personally would have put in Handels Water Music or Fireworks in there as being more famous than The Hallelujah Chorus as they would probably be recognisable to most?
No surprise that most of these composers were German. But I have to say that there were criminally few Russian pieces in this. I love everything from Tchaikowski and Prokofiev.
yeah, why wasn't 1812 on this?
@@generatiiimpreuna Why would you say it in this comment section?
@@Jegsbeard1812 is funny for the meme. That's about it.
Musicians don't give a shit about nationalities. Why does this have to be mentioned again and again?
Actually not German but Austrian (Schubert, Mozart, Strauss). Beethoven and Bach are German.
Why am I third ;---;

Me too. One of my favorite pieces.
These songs are everywhere truly masterpieces.
No Brahms' " Hungarian Dance #5 " ?
the Italians invented the piano and the Germans used it to create the most beautiful music of all time.
Well up til the 1930s and 40s
Yeah
German?
Bach is number One…He will always be…!!!
Yes 👍🏻
В целом, согласна, хотя для меня перед ним на первом месте Чайковский. Ну, они почти одинаково мне нравятся... А вообще есть много прекрасных мелодий и у других композиторов. Тот же Бетховен, например.
Mozart in my view and then Beethoven
@@johnjames6620 Nah. It's Bach. He has over 1000 recorded works that survived and estimates are that is only about 10% of his total output. Everyone else stands in his shadow.
I know all and when i hear it i cry because its old memories 😭
Hapoy to see Chopin in the 1º position among masterpieces.
Chopin’s style I cannot seem to enjoy. I’m not surprised he’s number 1 though.
Shostakovich waltz 2 should be around 13 in that ranking though
There are two videos with 83mln views, one is the André Rieu performance in Wien and one has the still thumbnail.
To this I would mention the fact that because of CZcams Kids lullaby has several Billion views. I don't know what sort of videos the author chose to make this ranking, or how he managed to find this list. In my opinion he searched for all famous classical pieces one by one to check the views, but I really don't know.
Edit: for example the 83mln "O mio babbino caro" is a performance including André Rieu what a coincidence
The "ranking" is based on number of views.
A wonderful video thank you for sharing this most people that are not really familiar with classical music have heard these tunes played over and over in commercials videos like these are very educational and help people learn exactly where the music came from and who wrote it thank you for the video
Nice selection any of these masterpieces can be Numero Uno
I really like these kinda videos it shows a lot on piano songs
There is no way Eine kleine Nachtmusik by Mozart isnt in the top 25
That's what I'm wondering too, rating the popularity just based on views on CZcams isn't fair. That one was very popular, werid to be not on the list.
No. 1 in my book
and J.S. Bach - Toccata and Fugue in D minor BWV 565 too
@@pericoloso1273it's probably in a top 30, because it has 53 mln views and for sure is more popular than others
I expected to be Eine Kleine Nachtmusic in the top 3 and Beethoven's 5th on nr 1.
Where is Wagner Here comes the Bride?
Where is Rachmaninov All by myself?
Some of these I have NEVER even heard of.
Poor thing!
Thoroughly captivating... once pressed "play" I just had to continue to the very end 😎👍
Thank you, this was time well spent.
Che meraviglia! Una più bella dell'altra. Il mio pezzo preferito? Difficile scegliere! Sono tutti pezzi senza tempo: la loro bellezza non tramonterà mai!
My music teacher used to play classical music during lessons so know a lot of these tunes from back then over50 years ago.
I was waiting for Chopin to appear and finally
Expected: Eine Kline, LvB 5th, Vivaldi's Spring, but can't argue too strongly with these.
You did the Hungarian Rhapsody No.2 dirty by not using the friska part. But all in all, all 25 pieces are astounding!
friska part sounds best
All beautiful music, given pleasure to millions over many years.
Chopin Nocturne, Op.9, No.2 always makes me feel like I'm standing in front of a floor-ceiling window at a high ceiling penthouse living room overlooking the city, with minimalistic furnishing, while wearing a elegant white dress holding a glass of Château Mercian, Mariko Omnis 2018. Along side is a steinway grand piano that's playing this classical song.

Yes, bugs bunny
Very true, especially, in Looney Tunes

Almost all.
To be honest..it really ruined my appreciation of romantic music. It’s almost a crime they did that..just my opinion.
Surprised to not to see the Toccata E fugue in D minor by Bach.
Пианино для этой великой вещи очень мало...
Extraordinaire, merci.❤
So much to choose from, every list is subjective to different ears. I was looking for Rachmaninoff, Satie, and Joplin. I am in awe of those people who have this God-given talent to read and play such masterpieces.
I don’t even have that much interest in classical music. But I knew every one of these!
I’m not going to hate, everyone has there opinion. In sports, I hate having “today’s team” shoved down my throat. However, something is not cliche if it is a fact. In. My opinion: Beethoven is the best, followed by Mozart. Berlioz should be on the list, 25 is okay, but he belongs. It got very personal from 10-1. I mostly agree. I’m not dissing, it is what pleases the ear.
Без лишних слов: 1. Бах, 2. Моцарт, 3. Бетховен.
these are actually fire
Much thanks! Danke schön!
It is not about best music pieces but most famous ones. The best one may not be famous. Great presentation.
I think Frederic Chopin - marche funebre "Funeral March" is very "popular", but maybe in a different kind of way.
Hermosa selección 😊
Being a classical pianist myself, I know all of the pieces on your list, and I love all of them! No comparison, but in my heart, Chopin will always be the best!
When you are a classical musician and know every piece on this list 💪🏻
When you know most of them from growing up watching old cartoons.
When you know them beacuse are the most famous 🗿
I read once the only reason why cartoons introduced a whole generation to classical music was because they were too cheap to pay for music and classical was too old for royalties. they used the free music and made it work.
Also Chuck Jones loved classical music
When you are Austrian and realise that more than half of the pieces were written by composers who had strong connections to your country...
Fryderyk Chopin born in Poland in 1810.

Real Masterpiece
Fryderyk Szopen (Chopin) Polish artist, Born in Poland, lived in Poland, remember it
Pero Federico no pudo vivir en Polonia sino hasta los 20 años por motivos políticos. Desde 1830 vivió en París hasta su muerte en 1849. Mitad Polonia, mitad Francia.
@@alvarogarciabarbosa3199 it doesnt matter....he wrote in Polish, about Poland, he felt Polish, he's printed in Polish banknote .....
Mais son père est français quand même !
You don't need to type that, @benky786 . Most people in the comment section don't really understand what "nationality" means.
Biologically he was half-French, half-Polish. However he considered himself as a Pole. So his nationality is definitely Polish.
Hey guys: please use the correct English abbreviations. There is no 21th; 22th; 23th - it is 21st (last two letters of "twenty-first"); 22nd (last two letters of "twenty-second"); and 23rd (last two letters of "twenty-third"). That's how those abbreviations work.
Haha yeah, i didn't even notice that 😄

I love that Chopin is first. The amazing polish artist. I'm proud of him because I'm a Pole.
There are some pieces in this list that people that don't listen to classical music definitely don't know. There are also pieces everyone knows that definitely have to find their way in this list.
Can someone confirm whether this is right? I never heard the 2nd place before, but hear the 20th billions of times...
Ya no this list is very biased, never heard the 2nd one before
From a quick amount of searching, it seems they used the view count of the CZcams video with the most views, excluding ones that are most certainly not the original
I am definitely noticing some inconsistencies, as Moonlight Sonata has over 200m views
There are actually some inconsistencies in the list, because for example Full Moonlight sonata, as reported by the previous comment, has over 200mln views, and Shostakovich's Waltz no2 is missing, but if you have never heard Nessun Dorma before is just an important lack of knowledge, because it is very famous and it appears also in several film soundtracks. I'm pretty sure the version with so many views is sung by the tenor Luciano Pavarotti and could be a little bit biased towards the Italian people, but I didn't check.
@@pfizerpflanze Yes, indeed. I have almost no interest in opera and 20th century music, much less in 20th century opera, so by the time I wrote that comment I did not know that piece. I do not think, however, that something such as an "important lack of knowledge" exists in regards to music and arts, a theme that is always very subjective. Everyone has their own objective in mind when it comes to music. I, for instance, wish to deepen myself in the world of romantic orchestra and, far more strongly, piano music; as such, knowledge of 20th century opera (although romantic) is not something I need really, especially since Italian music rarely pleases me enough.
Nessun dorma would have to be the most famous tenor aria of all time. If you heard someone singing it you probably have recognised it instantly.
Great ! But you forgot RACHMANINOFF !
This is a list of 25 of the most famous 250 chosen at random.
