Nelson Mandela Award for Health Promotion for National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences

Congratulations NIMHANS, India for being bestowed the prestigious 2024 Nelson Mandela Award for Health Promotion for its work focusing on young people and child protection in primary mental health care. The award, presented at the 77th World Health Assembly in Geneva, recognises outstanding contributions to public health and was jointly awarded to Professor Bontle Mbongwe of Botswana.
NIMHANS is a globally renowned centre for mental health, neurosciences, and allied fields. This award spotlights the critical importance of mental health, which has been identified as a key priority by Regional Director Saima Wazed.
