Snow Blowers Challenge - Clearing my neighbors driveway

- In this video I put my Snowblower to the test. The driveway you can see was buried under snow as high as 75cm (or 30 inches). The whole job took me about 4hrs of work and the machines used about one full tank which is about 2liters of gas.

Appreciate your feedback! I also think the music would destroy the whole video otherwise...
This has been the very best snowblower video I've seen. Great work!!
You`re the man, thanks for your motivating words Dan! Much appreciated!
From a Canadian who knows what it's like to clear deep snow with a blower ... great job!
Appreciate your Feedback Rick! 🙃 From where in Canada are you?
So interesting to see all the different nationalities on here commenting. 😄 (btw, I love Canada!)

Nice to see that there’s good Neighbors still in this world. You did a great job.
Thanks a lot! 🙃
You are one hell of a good neighbor for doing all that hard work! Great job and thank you for being so nice..
Thank you Peter! Appreciate your feedback! 🙌
That's a tough little snowblower!
I really think it is!
Both you and the snow blower had a hard workout, great job!
It was definitely enough for that day haha! Appreciate your feedback!
Before we buy a snowblower: Ah yeah, that'll make it a piece of cake.
After we buy a snowblower: Ohh, my arms, my wrists, my back!
Nice vid, nice plow work! I have a short driveway in the Sierras, but it's on a major highway. The berm at the end of my drive is like the one you cut through, but mine is usually solid ice if not cleared within a day. Gotta call a service for that.
Props for the mid-2000s Impreza with a sweet tow setup.
Bought this for my small back deck in the Eastern Sierra. czcams.com/users/postUgkxoHYZbq5g9fkcAtinlTqstNlje-UQkCHN We get A LOT of HEAVY snow so I was a bit skeptical but it was worth it! After the first storm of the year this has exceeded expectations! It throws snow very well, even 10-12” + that said the more it piles up the harder it is to maneuver the machine. It is exceptionally light weight and overall exactly what I was looking for. If you have a large amount of snow and a lot of area to clear, you may consider something with a drive engine to help maneuverability, but for decks, second stories, roofs etc, you can’t beat the light weight to great snow throwing ratio. Side note, the chute rotator is a bit flimsy and it initially didn’t seem to work, after a few uses it seems to have loosened up.
Nice to hear you bought a handy machine there! Hope it continues to perform well :)
That was a lot of work. And all for your neighbor, yet! What a great friend and neighbor. You're an inspiration to all of us who watched to the end. Note : That sky is about as blue as blue can get. Isn't it great how clear and crisp the air is after a huge snow storm? Here in north-central Minnesota (USA), we only get a huge snowfall about once every 15-20 years and it's more like 18" - 24". I only remember 1 in the past 35 years that hit over 25".
Thank you so much for your kind words! This feels really good. We have some more projects planned for this summer where we hope to inspire more people. As you mentioned that blue sky in the video... that were my thoughts while I was working there - the weather was really beautiful that day. :)

Wow, what a job! Hope your neighbor appreciated all that hard work.
He did! It was a real surprise for him.
I can just see someone with a “battery powered snow sweeper “ clearing that driveway. It takes a real snowblower to do that job. And you did the end of the driveway the right way too‼️
Loved it 🤩
Happy to hear that! :)

I am very thankful to live in an area that doesn't have to deal with this. I got tired just watching.

A very beautiful countryside / scenery... Yes u did alright with what u had, well done by u good neighbour! (CHEERS)
I did some research into snowblowers and found that UTV ATV Snowblower's will tackle these difficult conditions in much less time.
Thanks a lot @buggs punny! For sure, these things work great. I'd say it would have still been tough getting through that wall of snow and ice next to the road. Best here would be a bigger tractor 👌😁

That was pretty impressive for that little snowblower
That thing really does a good job! Love it 😃
This was a big job for a walk behind blower but the blower was equal to the task and the operator was well organized in his operation. I live in norther Ontario Canada and I cleaned the right hand bank at the end of the driveway (looking from the roadway) back about 25 feet then the snow plow wing would dump into that area instead of the driveway. What a beautiful property and beautiful day. Thanks.
Thank you so much! So cool to hear from all the people from different countries. We have travelled to Canada and the US and we really liked it a lot. Hope to get the chance to see more of it soon! Thanks again for your feedback on my video! 🙌

Tolle Arbeit!
nice Job 👍
Thanks!! :)
so satisfying
Nice to hear that! Going to work on more content very soon ;)
looked like it was a lot of fun :)
Indeed and a good workout 😄
your poor snowblower !!!!! Hope you did a full servicing after that job ! I am also the same type, in that when it snows, I'll put in a couple of 10 hour days with mine, helping out everyone in my community. I go through a snowblower every 5 years or so (and I buy the commercial grade ones!) Oh, And I REALLY LOVE your Subie !!!!!!!!
I didn't push it to much and took every part step by step. Maybe it doesn't seem like it in the time-lapse.
Going to give it a service this weekend, yes 😅
Great to hear you are helping out where you can! 💪
Thanks for your feedback 😁👍
Only four hours ,
With all the camera work.
You sir are a snow beast !
It would have taken my 65 y.o. body at least 6 hours
W/o the camera work.
Congratulations on a job well done
Both the driveway and
The video.
Thank you very much Jean!
If I would have taken it easy on this driveway it probably would have taken me 5-6hrs as well. But I knew I would have to work in super low light in the end. That's why I wanted to get it done as quick as possible.
This job definitely challenged both me and the machine. I'm super happy about the result here on CZcams as well, all the nice comments just give me more motivation to keep going 🤠
Wow! That is a lot of snow! Great work and good filming/editing. My only recommendation would be to use a reflective west when working close to the road. Take care and keep the videos coming!
Thanks for your comment. Appreciate you caring for me! Indeed I should have had a west on. Will do so in further projects 👍

I couldn't stop watching this video. I loved it but this video made me feel very lazy 😂 I'm gonna try not to use my tractor this winter as much. Great job and great video!!!!

Great work, great techniques getting the job done efficiently. I'd suggest two modifications to you blower: drift knives and an impeller kit. I made those two additions to my Husqvarna 10530SBE and it made a world of difference in deep snow.
Thanks for your suggestions! Was already thinking about the drift knives after someone else mentioned it. Now you came up with the impeller kit which I really like.
Brady Burnside thats a two stage snowblower, therefore equipped with an impeller, but i agree with the drift buster
@@jimsmith9819 Impeller kit puts flexible sweeps on the impeller blades; throws further and keeps snow from slipping past the gap between the impeller and the housing. Also prevents any snow from remaining in the housing that would turn to ice and freeze the impeller after you're done blowing for the day.
@@apes4life so i saw, after i made the comment
This is a fine example of being a good neighbor. Lead by example! If you like this snow blower do a review of it and let us know what your thoughts are. The company should send you a larger model to use and then review. Just a thought.
That's a good idea! As the season is slowly getting to an end, I believe it will be best to focus on that for the upcoming season.
Thank you very much for your support! Highly appreciated 🙌
A great example of how to eat an elephant, one bite at a time.
That puts into the right perspective haha! Thanks! :)
Done this kinda thing myself, these smaller snow blowers weren't made for THAT kind of use, basically you have to do years worth of maintenance for a winter full of this.
A tractor woulda been the way to go here, but you know that already, this was likely a good workout, and it is fun! 🤣
I take off the skidshoes to stop it from riding up so much, which means changing a shear bolt now and then but that's fine.
The neighbors will appreciate the favor, I'm sure, but I'm surprised they didn't put in sticks/markers if they were adamant about using the property in the winter? That's literally winter-life 101.
You are right, this of course isn't meant to be haha. But since the one who has a tractor wasn't in the mood for doing him that favour, I wanted to do it. I will definitely suggest that with the markers, in fact this would have helped quite a bit.
If it's any consolation, if I would've drove by with my tractor and saw you dealing with that, I would have stopped and helped. There's been many a freebies for people as I drive through town doing plow jobs for people that shouldn't be doing what they're doing for several reasons and dig them them out, especially the elderly. There's also the stuck cars and trucks I pull out. It's fun and helpful.@@chrisworkandmachines

That's a very good idea! That might even work for a video project :)
@@chrisworkandmachines helped me as you spend most of the day snowballing 500' driveway ONLY to discover the plow truck drove by hrs earlier and left a 3' high slush bank and frozen ice...not good for a snowblower or your back as that wet stuff is heavy.
