  • Today I'm starting the restoration of my Super 73 SG1.
Follow me through this first part in which we're swapping the motor for a Grin All-Axle Hub hooked up to a Phaserunner with a Cycle-Analyst.

Congratulations Martin on this project from everyone here at Grin, it was selected as the winner of the $1000 first prize video award. We were glad to see how this upgrade came together and got documented with near perfect video production skills too. We can't wait to see how the Phase2 of your project shapes up!

Ah yes GHR-0179. I made this motor! Great build and I'm loving the custom axle. Grin loves making people builds come true! I am glad you like our motors. We are just starting on making the fat motors now. Making a battery is a serious undertaking, use brand name reputable cells, do lots of research and stay safe! Cheers from Grin's Motor QA Lead

Wow thanks a lot, it definitely means a lot coming from you!
I am definitely doing the research and getting help from my professors, lithium batteries are no joke. And I will absolutely not be taking the risk of not using reputable cells. Thanks so much for your advice and for the motor! Cheers!

@@martinbouteruche3023 Also, keep on eye on that torque arm spacer in case it does start fatigueing. One of our axle spacers might help out too but may require the axle to be modded again

@@AlbertPhan yeah that’s definitely a good idea. I’m also planning on doing regular teardowns of the rear wheel to ensure everything is holding up correctly. It’s still experimental after all!
