Thank you buddy 😁👍
That’s it Dan. You’ve moved into my number one favorite UK channel. To take the time to film, edit and post your videos has to be time consuming, I just wanted you to know that I and I’m sure many others on the planet appreciate you sharing your incredible finds with us. All the buckles, buttons, bits and bobs are great but the Roman coin, bronze ring, Henry VIII token and most of all the Charles II silver cufflink are amazing finds. Thanks again for sharing. Good luck and be safe. 🇺🇸🍺
Wow mate, that is very kind of you, I really appreciate that 😊👍. It is time consuming, and takes up a lot of my detecting time, but I wouldn't do it if I didn't love it 👌. I love the editing part too, it's great fun and it get to share these adventures world wide 🙌.
Thank you so much for watching and commenting mate, it really means a lot to me 🙏
Well done Dan, great video. There seems to be a few of those cufflinks coming up just recently.
Thank you 😊. It seems like they come in waves mate, sometimes you don't see them for ages, and then people are posting them left, right and centre 🤔. Thank you for watching 😁
Une sortie avec ( encore ) de jolies trouvailles . Bravo 👍
Thank you very much mate 👍 😀
good video well done on the finds enjoyed 😊
Thank you very much my friend 😊
Spot on Dan 👏brilliant video mate👍👍
Thank you Rob, much appreciated mate 👍. Hope you had a great weekend 👍 😀
The cut down thimble is for stitching a buckle on leather shoes. It's for pushing the needle through. You put the end of the needle in one of the dimples to save your finger having the blunt end pop through the skin of your finger, because you have to push it so hard. I know because I used to have to repair my shoes myself as a Child and they were very hard to sew. Sadly I didn't have one so my fingertips suffered badly. My Parents said jobs like that toughened up my character.
Great video Dan some awesome finds there bud.
Thank you very much mate 👍 😀
👍cool.
Thank you 😊
Nice finds the tall thimble looks like a mid to late 16th century nuremberg type and the other two are of a similar age.
Thank you very much for the info mate, much appreciated 👍
Hi Dan, hope you & the family are well. Thought I’d give you a look as I just don’t get the time nowadays. I always struggle with 30+ min vids as you know, as I like to watch them from start to finish, not a fan of skipping through. Your fields are just stocked full of history, you need Time Team on there! 😂 You must pinch yourself mate, bucket listers of mine everywhere. Love those fields when you can flick the soft soil over to find it all! Lovely!
Hi Marcus, great to see you here buddy 👍. Me a the family are doing good thank you, hope you and yours are too? I'm the same mate, seems these days I barely get a second to sit down, and when I do, it's not long enough to catch up on videos 😢.
Honest mate, I'm in awe of what I still find out there, and just when I was thinking the finds were slowing down a little, the farmer finally ploughed deep (which he's never done) and it's like a new field again. Can't wait for him to finally plough my main roman field lol😲.
Thank you for popping in mate, I really appreciate it 🙏. Take care buddy 👍
Great Video …. Love the thimble 👌🏽👌🏽 😍
Thank you, got to be the nicest thimble I've found so far 👌.
Cheers for watching 😁
@@DiggerDanMetalDetecting … watching it again … missed that Charles cufflink.. 🫣😀
@@kimmylass100 oooppsss lol 😉😂 enjoy.... again 😂
I dream of detecting on ploughed stuff - bored with pasture now 🤣
I'd love to get on some pasture lol I have none at all 🤦♂️😂. Can't beat some nice soft soil to dig in though 😉. Thanks for watching buddy 👍
I was actually working on a dupondius/sesertius that I found last week when your dupondius came up! Great vid as always Dan :)
That's crazy mate, hope it came out nice 👍. Thank you very much for watching buddy 👍 😀
Very nice!
Thank you very much mate 👍 😀
Can’t wait to start finding fun stuff like this ❤
Keep on swinging and those finds will come 🙏🤞🤞
Awesome hunt
Thank you very much mate 😁👍
Another great video mate with some more great finds keep the history coming stay lucky Dan 👍
Cheers buddy, thank you very much for watching 😁 👍
Nice find Dan just heat the coin slightly if it goes red it will melt, I'll be happy to straighten and coins for you hun
Thanks for that Sharon, I think I had the right technique, but like you say I think I over cooked it 🤦♂️. I'll have to take a look through my collection and see if I have any that are worth saving, then I'll contact you if I have 😊. Thank you
Greetings from Mexico bro .nice adventure 👍
Thank you very much my friend 😊 👍
Well done Dan, loads of awesome finds 🤩 and another great video 👍 Just wondering, have you lost Tom again? Missing his happy smiley face in your videos 😥🤣🤣
Thanks kirsty, was a great day 😁👌. I am hoping I can get Tom to venture out with me this weekend 🙏 so you'll get to see that happy face again lol 😆
Nice fines.. Not started getting permissions yet. Not sure how to go about it, bit sceptical about going out and asking.,but looking at your channel I see I will have yo push myself out there. There can only be 2 answers. Love watching your vids thank you I'm learning a lot from you
It exactly that, all about going out and asking the question, it can only be a yes or a no. Make sure you ask all family and friends if they know anyone with land, doesn't matter how big or small it is. Go on Google maps and type in farms, it should come up with lots of farms around your area 👍. All worth a try 😉.
Good luck and thank you for watching 😁
Evening Dan, love the videos and new subscriber, got lots of info and ideas for my channel from you, bought the legend and use a lot of your settings which are excellent, keep up the good work 👍👍
Thanks buddy, really appreciate that. Hope those setting treat you well too, I've found some amazing things with the legend on those settings 👌.
Thanks for watching mate 👍
@@DiggerDanMetalDetecting cheers pal you too 👍👍
That's it Dan, going to win the lottery and buy some land in Norfolk 😂 lots of fabulous finds. Never seen topples thimbles before, every day a school day!
Great video and thanks for sharing 👍 😊
Haha 😄 I have to say, if I won the lottery, I wouldn't move from Norfolk lol 🤣. I think those top less thimbles are called ring thimbles, cool little find 👌.
Thank you for watching mate 👍
Great finds Dan. Enjoy your videos 👍😎
Thank you very much mate, I appreciate that 😊 🙏
Fajne fanty 😊
Thank you for watching 😁
31.00 That decorated thimble could be a medical thimble designed to protect cut finger tips or prevent cuts..... I have heard that thimbles were used for this purpose.
That's very interesting information mate, thank you 😊. I've not heard of that before, so definitely worth a bit of research. Thank you 😊
Great video as always and some really great finds 👏👏👏
Thank you very much for watching and commenting mate 😁👍
Hi Dan the thimbles are tailor thimbles or ring thimbles great videos 👍🏻
Brilliant information, thank you very much, I really appreciate that 👌👍.
Thanks for watching 😊
sewing ring it is 👍🏻 find then in holland also on my fields
Thanks for that info mate, much appreciated 👍. A first for me, and then I go and find a second on the same day 🤷🏻♂️ what are the chances? Lol.
Thank you for watching 😁
@@DiggerDanMetalDetecting what a coincidence 😂 saw right away that it was a sewing ring and think respond right away, we are here to help each other 😉
Hi Dan, i think that coin is too big for a half penny, i’m thinking its an 1806 penny. I found one just the other week. Great finds buddy 👍
It think you are spot on mate, never thought about the fact that they reduced the size of the coins in 1806 because they were too heavy and bulky 👍. Well done buddy, and thank you for the info 😊👍
Your videos are so educational, calm, easy to follow and inspiring, thank you Dan. My permission in the East Midlands has several large fields that after minimal till for the last few years were deep ploughed, rolled and seeded last month, which was great when the soil was lovely clear, dry and ‘dusty’ but the wheat is now ‘sprouting’. I’m reluctant to risk trampling over the early growth, especially in these wet/muddy conditions. What do you do? Do you leave off for a while and if so how do you judge when to go back on? Thankfully the farm has lots of pasture too, but as you know that’s hard work especially when the ‘fresh’ arable is just crying out to be detected. Thanks.
Thank you mate, I really appreciate that 🙏.
I'm luck in that, my farmer really doesn't care when I go in the fields, weather it's muddy, dry, or whatever. He's always just said I can go on until the the crops are too high to swing. That's not to say that I don't show any respect though, I always fill my holes nicely and where possible, I try to keep a plug of the crop to re plant if I can. It's really something only you will know when out there. If you think it's too wet and the holes are very messy, then maybe it's best left for a dryer day and the pasture is the place to be 👍.
Hope that helps mate, and thank you for watching 👍😁
@@DiggerDanMetalDetecting Thanks Dan, wise words. I'm probably over thinking it as I doubt anything I do on foot in a 50 acre field will have any long term impact on what I know will become a swaying mass of gold by summers end. My farmer is pretty chilled too, although we've not actually discussed it specifically. Anyway, once this wet week is over I'll give it a go, just treading carefully! Cheers, Neil
Thanks to Dan 'THE MAN' I now am using the Tozo G1 earbuds + Legend (now I order the LG30 this month, get some plastic surgery, etc etc......) They will start calling me Dan #2 over here and NO! I will not cross the pond again! lmao! ;)
Hope you like them mate 👍. Hahaha I can't imaging what could be so bad, that you would want a face like mine lol 😆.
Thank you for watching buddy 👍
Mate got the new version. Have you got a link for settings on a school playing field...
The new version is working great 👍. I've not heard of any schools that allow metal detecting in Norfolk, sorry.
Thanks for watching 👍😁
Is there a way to get the green off the coins and polish them up to see them clearer?
You could buff them with an abrasive polish. Or I've heard that pink stuff I great.
I prefer to leave them, because it has taken years to build up that patina and it is part of the coins history.
Thank you for watching 😁
Hi Digger Dan , I would love to make you a wall plaque of your logo please . If so , nearer the time I will contact you for your address to post it . Thankyou xxxTracy
That would be amazing Tracy, thank you so much, that's really kind of you 😊 xx
New to my Legend. Question, got to a so cer field to practice and learn, place is liaded with coins, all day long. Soon as i turned my machine on it was making all kinds of noise, while just sitting there. So i changed out of multi 1, went to like a single frequency, and that seemed to help. Was this the right thing to do? Thought maybe it was powerlines, theres big overhead lights. Does frequency change help with this kind of noise? Or was this ground balance problem?
Give my settings a try, and make sure you do a frequency shift evey time you turn on the machine. It's the first setting on the bottom bar on the left, just press the pinpoint button once and let it do its thing 👍.

@@DiggerDanMetalDetecting that's so awesome. I'm going to try that. It's really cool that you would answer my question and give those settings. As they say here in America, I appreciate you.
Is it a coin weight perhaps?
It's a trade token of Henry V111 mate 👍.
