It’s a perm! Usually ammonium thioglycolate, and then a neutralizing solution. Perms are done on freshly washed and clarified hair, so doing it post-exfoliation, at such a low strength, shouldn’t cause significant irritation with proper use.

Hi friend. in Australia. we as aestheticians actually do this. yes you can use vaseline but it isnt 100% necessary. this is the same solution set we use for lash lifts. it can cause some skin irritation but we always patch test. the relaxing solution is deffinetly really really bad if it gets in the eye. but if you have experience and can use minimal product there are people who get away with doing this at home. but 110% recommend seeing a proffesional where possible. :) hope this helps :)

I’ve been so curious about brow lamination! Mine are also super curly at the ends and it’s annoying lol. When I used to get relaxers, they would also add Vaseline to protect the skin around my hair. I’d be curious about the ingredients in that lamination kit too!

I like eye creams for actives like retinol. If it’s just a moisturizer I’m not interested. I also like the niacinamide eye cream from FAB because it’s kind of a makeup skincare combo.

You can get the lash lift kits on Amazon, it does your brows too. I do mine at home as well both brows and lashes. It’s very easy and comes out soooo nice!

If I'm doing any exfoliant, I usually use moisture hydration peptides only products that day and next day back to my daily retinol

I’m really pale with Italian dark body hair and i have such thick, dark facial hair and it bothers me so much 😭 literally had a tiny meltdown about an hour before watching this because it’s been so frustrating (being married with a mustache isn’t exactly good for my self esteem even though it doesn’t bother my husband). Hearing you both talk about facial hair somehow made me feel so much better about having to shave/manage it ☺️ thank you for being so encouraging Cassandra!!!

I'm half Italian, half UK/French mutt, with dark hair and pasty skin. I have a moustache and a nanny goat beard (because old); I shave the beard when I shower, or pluck it in the car (better lighting).
Nyma Tang uses a bit of vitamin E on her face when she shaves. If I can look half as amazing as she does, I'll do that too!

I’ve thought of doing the brow lamination at home but it makes me too nervous, I’d end up frying them off with my luck! I’ll gladly pay the, $120 every 8 weeks to have them professionally done.
They’ve never put Vaseline around the brows for a lamination though, which also includes a tint and waxing. I’m wondering if it’s a weaker formula as opposed to the chemicals used for the hair on our head.
As a black woman with oily acne prone skin , I I relate to Jackie ainas approach and I am moving towards hydrating products .. I found that using these actives like salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide everyday had me so oily and irritated ! So now I have these products and use them maybe twice or thrice a week and just keep it simple and gentle when it comes to cleansing. I also do use treatments too but when I'm cleansing I'm not tryna overstrip my skin cause I will get oilier so I get why she has gentle products !

I am qualified in brow lamination and it is very similar to lash lifting/perming although I would recommend getting one suitable for brows as they are slightly gentler as they have to come in contact with the skin unlike the lash lifts. I personally use Elleeplex. I would also recommend using some form of barrier cream around the brows to protect the skin, and I would never do it the same day as dermaplanning as the skin with be more sensitive to the chemicals in the lamination products.
Hoping to get mine done, I have been growing out my brows no threading for 3 months. So hopefully the lamination would be nice

Should you do a separate "eye" cream if it has retinol? I use a separate cream/serum from face!
Some derms recommend a retinol eye cream/serum because it's a milder formulation. Cassandra has recommended the inkey list one.

I used belief cream and is made my skin kind of dry in my oily areas and smells a little bit of alchohol. The cleanser it just another expensive unusefull product. I replace it with youth kale.

I borrowed one of my grandma's eye creams once and I guess it had expired (I didn't know that could happen) because it gave me what looked like a bacterial infection - little painful, itchy white pimples all around my eyes. I know I shouldn't have popped them but I totally did but I also put like. Neosporin and stuff on them.
Don't use expired products y'all.
What's better retinol or retinoid?
Depends on what your skin is going to tolerate. A retinol would have to go through a conversion process unlike a retinoid. Dr Shereene Idriss has a couple of videos on retinol and describes the differences.
Can I use cerave moisturasing cream as eye cream?

Bonajour’s Green Tea Water Bomb would be a good dupe. Bonajour has the most certified vegan products of any k-beauty brand. I know that means very little but a vegan sticker can be very useful

Same. I think they work great for acne, at least for me it does. The Skii essence cleared my skin very well

I liked her personality. But I felt like it was straight a belief commercial. I wonder If she's really just using these heavily fragranced products if she has acne prone skin. I personally wouldn't even buy them if this was a cruelty free brand. Expensive and full of declaration required fragrants like linalool and geraniol. My skin would cry😥

I'm starting to hyperpigmentation and I'm wondering if face shaving can make it worse, since any physical abrasion can cause pigmentation in dark skin. Can anyone give me some insight on this?
I have hyperpigmentation, and I faceshave, it doesn't make it any darker + it helps your skincare absorb better so any products you use work better, thus helping reduce your pigmentation

It’s. Not cruelty free but I know she likes ceramedx which is very similar

She only does cruelty free stuff. But she knows not everyone has the money or time to find cruelty free stuff. She says in the past it works well for people who want a safe, very basic routine. My friends like it cos they’re not into skincare as much but still like the ritual.
A lot of derms like cetaphil, cerave, lrp, etc. They are big brands who have r&d and studies to back up the claims they make about their products and a number of them are mild and good for folks who may have skin issues. They aren't cruelty free though and yes, Ceramedx is the one that most people refer to when they want a dupe for CeraVe.
