Current The Dark Element (and ex-Nightwish) vocalist Anette Olzon is set to release her new solo album, "Strong" via Frontiers Music Srl on September 10, 2021.
This will be Anette's second solo album, following 2014's "Shine," and offers a harder, faster musical offering compared to the debut. More importantly, "Strong" stakes a claim for Anette’s well-deserved standing as one of the world's top female metal vocalists.
The music for "Strong" was written, composed and produced together with acclaimed Swedish guitarist and producer Magnus Karlsson. Together, Anette and Magnus managed to create an outstanding collection of songs which showcase Anette’s enormous vocal range alongside Karlsson’s incendiary riffs. The songs are heavy, but still quite melodic and contemporary in their approach to the genre style. Additionally, "Strong" is mixed by Jacob Hansen (Pretty Maids, Volbeat, The Dark Element, etc.).
All in all, “Strong” is an album that masters the borders between heaviness and hookiness, all while showing an artist who doesn't rest on her laurels, but heads boldly into the future.

Anette turned out to be the "invisible" and at the same time "underrated" vocalist. It is incredible that in the history of a band they only mention two vocalists, leaving a segregated one behind in oblivion. Sincerely, the two albums in which she participated turned out to be the best in history. Anette has probably had to pave her own way because even the media and specialized media turned their backs on her. I am delighted that she has shown everyone how capable she is, that perseverance does pay off; every material she offers us is of quality, passion and truth.
Anette resulto ser la vocalista "invisible" y al mismo tiempo "infravalorada" es increíble que en la historia de una banda solo se remonten a mencionar a dos vocalistas, dejando a una segregada ahí atrás en el olvido. Sinceramente en los dos discos que ella participo resultaron ser los mejores de la historia. Probablemente Anette ha tenido que pavimentar ella misma su propio camino por que hasta los medios de comunicación y medios especializados le dieron la espalda. Yo encantado de que ella les a mostrado a todos de cuan capaz es, de que la perseverancia si tiene frutos; cada material que nos ofrece es de calidad, pasión y verdad.

Para vos talvez. Los mejores son Wishmaster, Oceanborn y los dos últimos. Y para la mayoría, Century Child y Once. Pero sí, obviamente que es una buena cantante. En mi opinión y en la de muchos, nunca terminó de encajar musicalmente en la banda, lo cual no significa que sea menos, sólo diferente.
El hecho de no poder cantar los temas de Tarja (ni como lo hace Floor en su voz natural, ni en modo lírico) ya era un gran indicio de que no iba tan perfectamente con el estilo como las otras dos, que por eso son mencionadas mucho más. Y porque una es la actual cantante y la otra la primera y que además marcó una huella no sólo en la banda si no en el género del metal.
@@darknico7622 Y qué tiene que ver sus carreras solistas?? Yo hablé específicamente de sus roles dentro de Nightwish, que es lo que importa y a lo que se refiere el primer comentario. Y tampoco hablé del éxito de la banda. Obviamente que, de la mano de las composiciones de Tuomas y el dinero invertido, la banda fue creciendo en público (algo que también se produjo por los álbumes y dvds con Tarja). Así que eso no dice nada de lo que yo dije. Yo hablo del aspecto exclusivamente musical.
Su voz es muy buena para algunos temas, sobre todo en Imaginaerum, donde Tuomas hizo líneas vocales que cuadraran mejor con su voz, pero eso no era necesario con Tarja, ni es necesario ahora con Floor, que es la más diversa de las tres y puede hacer prácticamente cualquier cosa.
Y respecto a que estén sobrevalorados los líricos, bueno, era la primera banda que se hizo conocida dentro del metal sinfónico (y del metal en general) en incorporar ese elemento. No veo que esté mal que por una vez la originalidad esté sobrevalorada (que no creo que lo esté en este caso).

Siempre ven lo negativo de Anette pero todo lo de las demás vocalistas lo aplauden (Tarja no tiene una buena voz de pecho y su pronunciación en Inglés no es muy buena) . "No es necesario" siempre es necesario ajustar la música a la voz que tienes en la banda o por que crees que le han bajado varios tonos a las canciones en los lives con Floor. No porque ella no llegue sino para hacer versiones distintas. Hasta con DPP que es un disco que estaba listo antes de la entrada de Anette, Tuomas tenía en mente que tipo de voz quería que cantara esas canciones.
She deserved so much more. She deserves more respect from the band she fronted for 5 years. With her, they recorded the band's best CDs. I love your work and hope for your success, Anette.

Es triste escuchar a los fans de toda la vida de nightwish hablar mal de Anette. Ella no tiene nada que probar a nadie. Hizo dos increíbles discos junto a nightwish y es parte de la historia de la banda. Es talentosa y es triste como la quisieron dejar en el olvido
Yo soy fan de Nightwish, y aunque admiro mucho a Tarja y a Floor, a Anette la amo de todo corazón, y me dolió mucho su salida de Nightwish, pero bueno, lo que me gusta es que está activa aportando y gustando, desde abajo y otros músicos importantes la han valorado como ella lo merece.
¿Vieron los vivos? Es muy comprensible entender por qué no sintonizaba con el resto de la banda. En este vídeo parece más comprometida con su trabajo que en los vivos con Nightwish.

I agree. Been a fan of her since I heard dark passion play when it came out many years ago. Recognized her talents there already, very happy she has continued and created amazing art like this!
That's true. She was exactly what Tuomas wanted for the band at that time, it was not her fault if the fans didn't agree with Tuomas. It was such a betrayal to have fired her in that way.
And in the end, he finally realized that a singer who was more like Tarja wouldn't be a bad choice after all, since the fans loved her way of singing and how it fit the band's melodies.
I think Anette already said once that if she had been the Nightwish singer since the beginning, people wouldn't hate her the way some did.
Not sure why some people hate her voice. I find her voice pleasing. And if she does sound like a Pop Singer she sure sounds alot better then the actual Pop Singers in The US and Canada.

I'm a big fan of Anette, but even I agree that all songs and all preformances weren't golden. But some certainly were, and there's many songs in Nightwish too that Anette just rules, Floor is not my choise to all Anette era songs, I love Anette's tonal changes what make her songs so lively, and she can get very fierce in high intense songs, and her sweet innocent voice is golden for many ballads.
The lyrics to this song were secretly inspired by me & Chip and written with a theme of heartbreak/leaving, as are the 'Love' The Way You Lie songs and the song Skyscraper etc and many other newer songs -- the oId man running the agency that made all these industries made everything about me & Chip, and some of the lines are the secret thoughts of the oId man himself (they say he's over 170 years oId) that he directed at me, as he considers me his puppet, and the lyrics to the song Feel For You by Nightwish are also the secret thoughts of the oId man directed at me, as he made most NW lyrics about me and the new system!
I noticed that too, and I also noticed that, when people do reaction videos, the ones with Floor and Tarja get more views, but, Anette is a type of agent, and I assume that's a ClA tactic they use on all agents, because she is an agent before being a singer, but she was in fact selected for her voice (because it matches mine the most) and she has the best known voice in the music industry -- while I have the best voice in the world!

Sin duda alguna, Anette tiene mucha pasión y lo refleja en sus canciones, su paso en Nightwish fue importante y lo hizo muy bien, nunca tuvo que demostrar nada, ella es muy buena cantante, que a algunos no les guste su voz, es una cosa muy diferente, siempre hubo estereotipos para voces femeninas en el Metal sinfónico, a pesar de eso, está logrando un buen recibimiento y debe de llenarla de orgullo.

It was more losing Tarja than getting Anette. It was totally unfair towards Anette, but NW suddenly came up with somebody completely new who had a totally different style. After losing the love of your life it's very likely your next relationship will fail quickly if you aren't over it. Nobody had have a chance after Tarja. Every other singer had been rejected too. I even needed years to fully accept Floor. It wasn't rejecting Anette but rejecting Anette as part of Nightwish. I totally love Anettes Solo Project.

Yep, me too. The Anette era is definitely PEAK Nightwish.
Storytime is for me definitely an Anette song. Her tonal changes make the song so nice and lively. Also I just love her Poet and the Pendulum, and I'm sad that every time reactions are not to her version of it, because there isn't any good quality live videos of it, there's couple decent quality ones (edit: no, just one), but that's not good. The one from Hong Kong live album is probably the best audio quality-wise, but it has no video.

Coincido contigo con lo de Within Temptation, son mucho más interesantes en la actualidad y no tan pretenciosos, y a Epica sigo sin cogerles el punto.... me quedo con Unleash the Archers..... y lamentablemente no he podido ver el Omega Live....

I became a fan when she joined Nightwish and i was disgusted how many people disrepected her, bullied her and God knows what more she have been through. Anette was very important piece in the band to continue. They hired her because they saw the potential was enormous. Her energy was amazing and i saw her 2008 with Nightwish. She was always amazing for me and still.

Anxiously awaiting the album to come out. I don't know what is it with us 50 somethings, we look and feel like we are in our 30s. Annette seems to have more energy and sings better as time goes by. She has been very busy after Nightwish. I can't also wait for a new Alyson Avenue. She will always be on my favorite songs list.

That song ROCKS, Annette!! This is awesome, and it really needs to be said to some folks who have abused us in the past. I think we all know people who treated us this way, in the form of old crushes, ex-friends, relationships, colleagues or religious groups. I've had all kinds of toxic relationships before in different ways in my life. This song resonates with that. Thank you Annette ❤️
