You need a small tracks for artillery builds. You can instantly reverse at 90 - 100 km/h letting you get some distance from a wedge or dog rushing you.
No need for small tracks. There’s no recoil wheels will be the wae

Or get a doppler and check the map every shot, using wheels with a light cabin (deadman/harpy) will get you the same speed as those dogos... That's the level of skill that you need to play artillery I did run mandrake for years now and they share the same draw back, I'm just so happy to see all those "dogos" players trying artillery...
Small tracks are slow and have a terrible mass/tonnage ratio vs wheels like hermit and buggy wheels, so you gonna trade 1000-1200 HP for tracks that won't help you to get better...
I’m glad this is as powerful as it is, artillery usually doesn’t stand a chance against rush builds but it should work really well to beat heavy builds and leviathans

Key points
Annihilates open air, fortified positions.
Forces movent & note taking.
Well placed shots heavily turn the tide of battle & reduce chances of enemies learning your pace & position.
Gets clapped at close range.
Difficult to land full yield shots.
Strategies:
Have a friendly run Kapkans and or mines to mark and provide easy shots / provide support from dogs.
Launch on the enemy push for predictable-ish shots
Launch on capture points to prevent capture.
Break up fortified locations / campy gameplay.
Launch on enemy artillery to prevent these strategies being used on your team.
Great explanation but i think mandrakes could be better in all scenarios you presented, due to their beneficial unaccuracy and most importantly fire damage.
PA-1 HEATHER currently relies on its incredibly high damage (as nearly all new weapons such as unfortunate nest), which will be nerfed quickly (because of its usefulness in pve and behemoth clan battle) and the element of suprise.

Might be hard as hell landing shots,but the fun of hitting atleast one good shot on a player and probably a ton of assits is worth it for me.
Loved the mandrakes would be lucky to get one or two kills with it but it was fun to use loved how the build would squat when fired it felt so powerful and sounds just as good.

The mandrake also has a small cool down before you can shoot when you aim so the heather is definitely better

I feel like that weapon or maybe a future weapon should be named RA-1 Thunderstorm. Perhaps there will be a future weapon that might get named something Thunderstorm. Though it might need a bit of spread.
Yeah they def could have given it a cooler name. I can't wait to get some practice in with this thing. I already have a build in mind just need the parts now.
@@JBRider Alright good luck, buddy. Try practicing your timing with it. I have somewhat mastered the Mandrake timing. But the spread is an issue. Though the RA-1 Heather might get nerfed. Such as when the Toadfish, the Parister (I think it is how it is called for the legendary shotgun) got nerfed. The toadfish might be one of the most nerfed/adjusted weapon in Crossout.
is it possible to make it do the same thing as the horizontal mandrake?
I made an ultimate ra1 Heather build on xbox 4699, I use 2 omni wheels and it concentrates the rockets to hit 1 spot causing 2000+ dps, I do have a 9k build too
Anyway to tilt the RA-1 (horizontal) like you use to be able to do with the mandrake?
can't mount it horizontally and if you tilt it you get the same red mark as the mandrake
I came back to the game, i took a look at this gun and knew its a better Version of the Mandrake, i bought it instandly and now iam playing it ofc.
RA IS OP and im in love with it.
And ya co drivers will take getting used too.. intelligence is grindable tho

watch streams on twitch the person has to be playing crossout and have drops enabled you can get 8 this weekend and next weekend another 8 all details should be on twitch somewhere. I'll try to stream next week

What are cartridges?
@@doop3230 in game currency you get from watching crossout streams, not sure if you can still get all 14 but it lets you buy a container from the engineers workbench containing epic stuff (costs 8 cartridges and you get to pick what you get) and decor lights which you can scrap for resources.
Master jack is still with in spirit. I kinda wish I got back all the materials I used in upgrading my computer drivers

@@JBRider I'm more of a pve guy because I'm meh at pvp and I just like to create kool looking vehicles which usually kinda suck in pvp
Using artillery is not about waiting for dogs to rush you... But about running away, keeping your distance... yes it's hard on Sector X. but it's also one of the easiest preshot maps of the game: start the game aim forward max shoot... that's it.
Using the mini-map and a radar helps.
The hadron = bad: it's too slow if a dogs want you, you literally can't escape, and mandrake hardon can be meta in clan battle with specific teammates.
Tracks = bad : reduce your total HP by 1000 (on deadman/harpy), terrible speed limit, they are kinda useful for mandrake because of the recoil but that's it
Do you want to shoot yourself? Use the environnement. Get on a hill and shoot forward if someone is following you he is dead. works every time for dogies.
I can't explain everything I've learned in a few years... Just keep those few pieces of advice trust me.
They are so many things to say on vehicle design for the mandrake your test was like an insult to mandrake really... You literally unbalance the vehicle with asymmetrical bigfoots :( Mandrake are not that inaccurate you just need a good design.
Could a fusion like the frontal mandrake work with this instead of the mandrakes, if so that could be op.

cannot be mounted horizontally and if you try to tilt you build the firing marker becomes red just like the mandrake

in terms of resources, yes. You get compensated with intel tho. I haven't spent resources on co-drivers so for me it doesn't really matter hehe

so your telling me that they bring back the old mandrake into a new flavor so you will spend for it and get it nerfed to death after the season ? one chance ive quit the game. not going to get back because i know they will scrap it. ( i could be a beast with them since i used mandrakes when they releases them and theyre where my favs and best weapons. :/ + if you want to have more fun learn how to drive and shoot thoses bad boys in any position, staying in movements is the core of artillerila in this game. aka hide and seek gameplay. + learn the maps patterns and decors object so you can drive without looking forward :) + if you know exactly how the maps are made you can shoot over montain and high objects / terrains.

@@jeremyberger3505 what you mean by that ? I quit cause of the greed the devs went for after 7 years of play (the 4 firsts years of the game where the best). Im actually working on my own game design + if my project works out and get enough found il rebuild crossout in a different tone and remake the old stats and make it an actual mmorpg open world game 'like how it's supposed to be' aka the adventure mode in it's full potencial.

CrossCrowns is a Super Expensive money grab. Not just a little greedy, but a shiz ton. Coins used to be cheaper but once they introduced crowns, it effectively raised the real world price of coins. crazy.

Yeah only if you have a heavy cab seems it was made like that for a reason. I had no master jack vehicles but I used jade which made my Apollo light which kinda screwed me up
@@JBRider It's funny to play with Bastion Averter. Maybe add the new module for ultimate tank. Tho looking at the puissance of the new guns, I don't think there is that much usefulness to be tanky anymore
I don't think that the intellegnce buying will be popular, but thank you ffor the basics on the missile launcher. However since the anti-missile defenses can't work on the missiles I think it will be nerfed first in such a way that the defenses will work agianst it, before any buffs come out. I don't think anyone wants to see overly effective shields and anti-missile drones, thus causing another clan war up-heavel.
Thank god artillery is hard to use and vulnerable to like, every build. I hope the win delta of these is abysmal so they don't get ruined. Shotgun rush is coming back baby

Moving targets i find that the Mandrake is much better than the Heather, i am still rocking it with my 8800PS dual Mandrake build.

Just want to add that Mandrake are even more powerfull now that the 5% raduis to fire puddles works for Mandrakes aswell now with the co-driver 😊👌
Edit: When you use Mandrake or Heather you need to be moving after you fire you shots, like a good sniper, move from location to location after each shot.
Also hit Tap some times to get a overview on the map and targets, learning where enemies normally are at and fire random shots over there 👌
and srly of course your mandrake is inconssistent when you have it hanging off the ass of your car, and it moves between shots good god
