I've owned a G35 since around 2007. It's been my woods gun for bowhunting and protection from wildlife when archery hunting, and even human predators in the backcountry of CO and WY. The longer alphawolf threaded barrel increases accuracy and velocity. It's been a fantastic sidearm. It's lighter weight than the 10mm options and with hot ammo just as effective on black bears and smaller browns/mt lions.

I often do; it's usually just whatever the I can find for the best price if I'm shooting a lot of it. The .40 in this video is Remington UMC 180 grain ammo.

I have picked up a G35 gen4, largely because of this video. I genuinely enjoy your videos, sir. Your stream of consciousness analysis of the gun that you are reviewing is very insightful as well as entertaining. Having so many reviews on hand is a feather in one's cap when contemplating a pistol purchase. Thank you!

Have you experimented much with the .357 Sig in .40 S&W magazines, especially older .40 S&W magazines? I was recently disappointed to learn that some of the many .40 S&W Glock mags I have are not reliable with the .357 Sig cartridge.

Very very little difference in felt recoil on either of these weapons, The added weight and travel of the slide takes it up quite nicely, as does the polymer frame of the Glock. You just can't go wrong with these. Like Hic said...THEY WORK!

  • @hickok45

Thanks, and thanks for the holster. Like I tell most folks that send things; if it's something I like enough to use, it will probably end up in a video sometime; I just never know if or when. I've had that holster for several months, I guess. I'm alternating among various holsters, and I didn't want to wear this one too much yet and wear off the ugly face before I did a holster video or showed it in a video. :-) Now, I can put it in the rotation and start wearing off the face!

A Glock 17L is actually about a 1/2" longer than the Glock 35. The first long slide .40 caliber Glock was the Glock 24, which is same size as the 17L.

Technically yes but the G24 is not common. It isn't even listed on the glock website anymore. Can't find them in stores. For all intents and purposes the G35 is the long slide 40 cal.

. If you purchased this new, you would have a Gen 3 or Gen 4. Simplest way to tell. If you have removable back straps, it is a Gen 4. Gen 4 has 2 back straps for the Grip. One is Medium and one is large. The grip without the back strap is a small or reduced grip. Medium back strap brings the Glock to the Gen 3 Feel. If you don't have back straps in the case, then you have a Gen 3. Their are other differences, but this is easiest for me to explain.
